is there any use of the spell Shield for a mage at my level or higher? absorbing 18 damage does not seem to help much when each monster is dealing 100+ damage. is it wise for me to remove the AP from shield put in somewhere else?

well, removing 18 out of 100 damage is 18% damage that doesn't need to be healed (not counting spells etc ofc) and the absorbed value increases with supportive skill.

I think the 1 point of AP is good invested in Shield whether you choose to use it regulary or not. Also.. At your level it could absorb 33 points of damage. Your proficiency is too low.
In any case.. it's 1 AP. Not something you need to agonise over.

Yes, it always helps a little, and you can get for free with channeling. At higher levels, haste become useless, so at that point shield can protect better. This post has been edited by cmdct: Oct 9 2010, 19:10

QUOTE(cmdct @ Oct 8 2010, 16:50) Buy equipment from other players in WTS or just request some in WTB, you'll save more credits. Yes you'll get double or triple hit, but each hit will be very small, and in case of cake IW you'll take 0 damage for several rounds.Weaken half the physical damage, and also prevent physical crits, it's good for using against mini-bosses in arena, that is until you start to get several of them, but this happens at higher level, when heavy start to be less effective and you need to switch to high evade. (because when hits are superior to 100 points, mitigation/evade is better than absorption)
Thanks for the advice。 With the heavy armor's interference, weaken seems useless, because I can't even cast it. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif) With almost full plate armor, I can grindfest cake to about 60-70 rounds。 But I haven‘t use one-handed since it’s much slower to kill monster。

How many levels do you gain on each difficulty of IW? So far I found no levels gained when playing on Cake or Easy, 1 Level Gained on Normal/Hard/Heroic, and 2 Levels sometimes gained on Nightmare and always on Hell. How many levels do you gain clearing on Nintendo or Battletoads??

I can't answer that. But I'd like to say that it's possible to gain 2 levels on normal. Happened to me. Once. And it's also possible to gain 1 level on cake and easy. Something like 1/4 chance on cake if you ask me. (I could check and give you a more precise estimate, but this should do.)

Why not try it? Though just a heads up.. proficiency is really important. And you'll have to raise it another way. Your Wakizashi isn't so bad! I mean it's not great, but it's decent. Maybe even considered good. The overall stats aren't so great (like ADM), but the parry stat is good. Better accuracy than my own. Another pro is that really bad Bleeding Proc. Wakizashi usually mess with your katana bleed, (since they can overwrite the katana bleed with their own sucky bleed) so a lower Proc % isn't all that bad. I think having something like a 25% Proc with an exceptionally low dmg is even worse. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) (Btw you know what I'd consider the ULTIMATE wakizashi? Fine+ Ethereal Wakizashi of Slaughter without ANY bleed proc. I have seen shortswords without any bleed proc.. that woul do good on a wakizashi. And instead really good ADM and crit and 10+ parry. I'm being humble of course.) This post has been edited by Death Grunty: Oct 11 2010, 20:16

I assume those are very old because every piece of equipment has a proc these days.

The effect of bleed override is overstated. If they both proc in the same turn, main hand bleed is the one that goes into effect due to it applying second.

Niten Ichiryu is awesome. I just destroy mobs with it in Item World. The only problem is that I don't gain any proficiency, so I still have to do 2H and DW to get better at it.

QUOTE(nwbell6 @ Oct 12 2010, 01:39) They are very similar, I'd probably go with Fine - higher level, if nothing else.
