Hi,
I'm pretty new at this game. Currently level 43. I have 2 quick questions:
1. How are the magic damage on weapons calculated into your DPS? I've seen weapons with "Spell Damage: Fire +4.0". It seems so neglible. Is it worth the extra $$$ to buy it? And does the elemental damage applies on regular melee attacks?
2. What's the best way for a newbie like me to farm for credits besides doing the Arena?
Thanks for taking your time to read this.

Maddaa: The EDB% bonus is a direct % bonus on spells of that damage type, working same way as phase. Weapons with those also have elemental strike, which does 50% physical damage of that element on the monster you target with your physical attack.
For credits, level up fast on IWBTH hourly battles(that you see instead of ads if 1+ hour has passed since last link to 1 shown) and use the resulting higher level to do more arenas. Resulting credits can be used to kickstart your gear and trainings.

QUOTE(Arxdewn @ Jan 5 2013, 11:16) Is there anything known as to the chances of salvaging various grades of material compared to quality (more specific than higher quality has a better result)? What about equipment tier; will a .8 katana have a better salvage odds than a .8 estoc?
Nobody knows. QUOTE(Maddaa @ Jan 5 2013, 13:32) Hi,

1. The amount of magical EDB doesn't affect your physical attacks (you only have additional elemental strike). It is only counted in your corresponding offensive spell attacks. For elemental weapons, it worths much more on DW/1H where you attack one single enemy. It's also good on 2H against your major target. So...it worths. 2. Probably playing in grindfest, get some crystals/equips and sell them. If you have some very good equips you want to level up, you can also spend your stamina in IW.

QUOTE(MuffDiver99 @ Jan 5 2013, 17:03) I want to start trying to sell off entry level ethereal weapons. They are not great or anything, but they do carry the ethereal properties. normally, what should be the price range for these weapons in stores?
None of these looks good though. Longsword + balance = not useful ethereal estoc without PAB = bad luck estoc/mace + balance = damage doesn't look good enough vampire = useless arctic dagger = hm...too easy to get tons of them

QUOTE(ahenayau @ Jan 5 2013, 20:02) exq ethereal axe i want to ask , is better to lvl up my current weapon or buying more powerfull weapon (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) leveling that up won't hurt. forging in the other hand would be wasteful.

Destruction by about 5%, with prof suffix inbetween. So it really depends on your phase.

I've been doing IWBTH Hourlies for a while now and they've become kinda easy (by "easy" I mean that I only have to use spark of life once now each time (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)) and I noticed that I now have 24 Tokens of Blood so I was wondering, how hard is Flying Spaghetti Monster compared to the Random Encounters? also, is it worth doing any of the other Ring of Blood challenges? Attached are my abilities, if I was to get weaken/silence or something do you think it would be possible to do FSM on IWBTH? This post has been edited by LiekZomg: Jan 6 2013, 02:04

you should do them all at least once for the clear bonus. i wouldn't try IWBTH FSM until you at least have spirit shield

Spirit shield, regen and haste is pretty much all you need to do IWBTH FSM. I've gotten to lazy to bother with deprecating, but weaken and silence is extremely safe as well.

Thanks for the replies (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif). I never bothered with regen cause it seems to be that I either don't get hit, or I get 1 shot killed (or almost 1shot, in which case I need to cure) (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) This post has been edited by LiekZomg: Jan 6 2013, 03:46

So, I found this staff and I'm thinking about maybe picking up some cheap heimdall gear to do some maging ( 1 2 2 3 4 4 is the only stuff I've found so far, probably no good apart from maybe the cap (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)) Now I was wondering how well would such a gearset (not necessarily the stuff I linked, but ~superior quality) in: - non-schoolgirl arenas (to compare: I can finish them all on BT in slightly over an hour with my 2h set if I hurry) - schoolgirl arenas (probably no higher difficulties, but maybe blasting through normal/hard for trophies?) - FSM (although that one's pretty unimportant) Or is most of the "blasting through" reserved for the better-geared ones? (i.e. ex+ and forged etc.)

(i.e. ex+ and forged etc.) "blasting through" is only achievable after you've significantly invested into gear. And by that I mean something like holyshit staff, some awesome phases. Basically to even attempt BT, you should have about 30k magescore, I'd say, which is just not possible with average gear. Oh and, no matter how good your gear is, you'll be curing, a LOT.

Nerf is gonna be taken out soon though, I guess because weaken is better in every aspect; x-nerf is useful for random encounters, I don't think anywhere else, the mana cost is almost as much as regen 2.
