QUOTE(n125 @ Jan 3 2013, 20:30) Silly question but, is Heartseeker a spell that melees (heavy+estoc specifically) strive to have on all the time, or is it only used in certain conditions, like IWBTH FSM?
I like to have it on as much as possible on any difficulty in any battle mode but because of the high mana cost I only ever activate it when I proc Channelling, I would say it'd be the same for any melee player with any fighting style as well This post has been edited by homicidalsage: Jan 3 2013, 09:38

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) I'll have to allot AP from the next 5 levels to it then since I don't want to do a reset. Hahaha.. I just did a RE on IWBTH, as a melee for the first time in years. Things were only hitting me for 200-300 damage; it made me feel invincible. As a mage I'd be getting hit for 4-digit damage easily. I was only doing ~4000 damage per hit though, but I guess that's good for building proficiency.

Things hit me for like 300-700 on BT in my (admittedly shitty) heavy set even with Protection on.

79.1% before protection. But I should mention that I didn't face Ei1a or any of the other fun monsters in that particular RE; I'm sure they'll change my outlook. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

QUOTE(otame-chan @ Jan 3 2013, 04:09) I need some general advice on how I could improve. Here's my stats: [img]http://img688.imageshack.us/img688/3751/90587090.pnghttp://img515.imageshack.us/img515/6407/67962700.png[/img And my equips (DW): main handoff handother equips are crappy but it's kind of hard to get better shade equips at a price I'm willing to pay. Here they are anyways: helmetbreastplategauntletsleggingsbootsThanks. You seem to be doing just fine. Are you having any specific troubles? The only thing I can think of to suggest is to get yourself a Slaughter club or axe for your main hand and a Slaughter or Nimble rapier for your offhand.

Yeah, that's not terrible Shade for your level, it's actually about what I'd expect you to be packing, and Stats and Abilities are fine.
An Elemental or Ethereal Slaughter Axe or Club wouldn't go amiss, but the Soul Strike makes up for it while you search for a decent one (nothing really resists Soul outside Mechs). Club is probably what you want with Shade, Stun is a much better proc than Bleed. Don't take an Axe that reduces your real damage output, most vanilla ones will. That Soul Strike adds 50% mainhaind damage in almost-as-good-as-Void Soul damage.
That Waki isn't bad, but this is about when you might want to start looking at Rapiers. PA is a powerful effect, and monsters are starting to shoot up in PL for you, which means much higher END -> higher PMI and a greater need for PA to get through that. By level 200, PA will about double your damage output when it's active. Balance's excellent AAB and ACB means more shots at hitting with the proc. Problem of course is that good Balance Rapiers are expensive.
Honestly, only thing that stands out to me as 'fix this now' is that you should probably pick up X-Item.

IMO a slaughter club with good stun (since he's using light armor) and a balance rapier with good PA

I thought about using a club and rapier but I'm afraid that it might reduce my parry by too much. I'm thinking I should switch to a rapier of slaughter for a main hand so I can get PA and still have a good parry chance. Is this a good idea?

Well, you don't have to parry Stunned monsters. Long term, you'll want to be relying more on Evade than Parry for defense (monster Anti-Evade is less effective than monster Anti-Parry as well). A good Balance Rapier can still sport 15 or more base Parry.
Dual-Rapier builds are a certainly a thing though, not sure if they go Slaughter/Slaughter or Slaughter/Balance or Slaughter/Nimble. You may end up clearing high difficulties faster with an Elemental/Ethereal Rapier of Slaughter mainhand than you will with the Shortsword though, because of PA.

It's worthy or not to trade my slaughter helmet ( 110 adb , 4 PAB ) with another slaughter helmet ( 145 adb , 2 PAB ) (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) This post has been edited by ahenayau: Jan 3 2013, 15:20

A) You are not a mage, look at PMI too when choosing armors. B) A single max PAB can beat 3 min PABs in benefit. Use a calculator.

What Katalox Staff suffix would you recommend looking for as a Dark/Holy Mage? Fenrir, Demon-Fiend, Destruction, Focus?

It depends on the balance among MDB, dark EDB and forbidden proficiency, which is easier said than done. In general... destruction (with high MDB) is good for alternating holy/dark spells. demon-fiend is good when you have no forbidden prof or too much dark EDB (from phase). fenrir is good when you have some good amount of forbidden prof. Both fenrir demon-fiend gives better boost to dark spells while ignoring the holy combo. Focus's usefulness get nerfed when you can get mana conservation from item potency, so it's the most underpowered currently. This post has been edited by varst: Jan 3 2013, 15:51

QUOTE 15 1 You gain 0 points of two-handed weapon proficiency. 14 3 Regen II restores 1010 points of health. 14 2 You gain the effect Hastened. 14 1 You cast Haste. What. The. Hell. Why bother telling me, then?! Or is this Trollboro telling me to lay off 2H and build up my DW profs?
