I am a newb lvl 66. melee user 1h. I normaly survive grindfest around lvl 3x at heroic lvl. Does dualwield is more advantage than using a buckler in term of survivability.

I was wondering this as well. Has anyone compared the effectiveness of DW vs. One-hand and shield? Perhaps it just depends on the quality of your shield/offhand?

Both are good for 1v1 battles. Unfortunately most of the HV battles are 1 vs multiple monsters, and 2H has significant advantage. DW is a bit better as the final tier of skill can hit multiple enemies, but 1H is simply 1v1. That's why there isn't that many players using 1H at high level.

Of course, it's okay to use them at lower level; it's good to have DW's parry or 1H's block when you're still building up your character's mitigation.

No where else to ask really, so I'll just ask here. The gifts we got...I saw someone wanted to buy one of them on wtb and I was wondering are they especially special or just someone collecting? Also, I am thinking of just holding on to them...would that be a waste since they all are asking to be used with their descriptions.

Well...AFAIK those gifts should have some better loot quality bonus and chance to get high-tier equips. Some collect them, some want the potential to get better equips.

Hmm, can someone tell me how much I must train assimilator for optimum play using both mele(light armour two-handed) and part time mage(switch betwen holy&forbidden)?
As for now I have 1 assimilator with 111.21 two-handed and 90.30 divine(don't have forbidden yet)

If you are level 300 and 0 prof, maybe train for it. At your level? Totally not worth it.

To let your know, I switched to melee at 187 with 0 prof, I have now 170 prof in 2H and 200 Heavy Armor

Some event gave me a Legendary staff, so it's probably worth quite a bit.

Well, it wasn't this event.

Also:
QUOTE
- The scaling between player level and monster level has changed. You will now start facing higher-level monsters earlier at <200, but there is no longer a level 200 precipice where you suddenly start facing the very highest monsters.

Remember me whining about maging being too hard a couple of hundred pages back? This hit the nail on the head. I just did a good ~100 rounds and wasn't one hit KOd a single time on normal difficulty! Something that hasn't happened in a while.

Eh, I can get through IW on Heroic without using pots but when I go to Nightmare it's like 50-50 I get gibbed at the end.

Why are there figurines in the shop? Seems very strange...did someone decide to make an early Xmas gift to the shop?

new patches & the yuletide bring a lot of people back to HV. they often clear out items they don't want and they end up in the bazaar.

No. Max for red stats is 20 each.

There is no rule. My Wisdom is also suffering. Rest is in 16 and 17 but Wisdom lags very badly behind and I've lost hope long ago that I will get another Wis point any time soon. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) (For a mage every Int/Wis is gold)

Is Absorb of any utility now?

From my personal experience Absorb is very much useless below Nintendo (monsters are usually to weak and too slow to cast magic -any- spells efficiently). Above that I would consider Absorb from recommended to a must. It doesn't intercept 100% magic attacks, but it helps (certainly for mage). On IWBTH I get frequent "absorptions". Only real drawback of Absorb is that it doesn't intercept 100% of attacks, but still 75% chance is better than nothing.

Crude item worlds on IWBTH difficulty, the lower the pxp, the better.

Do item levels do anything other than indicate how many potencies it has?

Also, does the penetrated armor debuff do anything if you're using a weapon that's void damage?

Slobber: Dafuq?Exq Katalox of Destruction used to go for 400 000 000?

Mmmm no.
The limit is the wealth players had available back then. We weren't dealing with as large numbers as we are today. Even then, there was someone offering 11M+ in a WTB thread for the exquisite katalox staff of destruction (this is back when people thought 200k was a lot). So if you apply credit inflation, it'd probably be 80M prior to the recent patch? *before forgings btw*

With a 150 pxp crude item, IWBTH monsters should do less damage than your regen spell can heal, so all you have to do is hold down the number pad and occasionally heal.

If you haven't touched IWBTH yet, I suggest doing the hourly random encounters on IWBTH and see how that goes, pack a bunch of potions. After level 100, with spark of life, definitely do random encounters on IWBTH, the exp gained from those is huge.
