Yes, and the regen rate is 5% MP/SP per monster moves

Hi, I'm a newbie and as such was wondering if I could get some help. I'm using a 2h mace cause I liked the domino effect with the stun but I'm starting to wonder if I should change my build. I was thinking of going a magic based build. As it is I find that I can pass the arenas but even on normal I struggle a bit. Any help in general will be appreciated (what skills to train, what abilities to get, what stats to focus, what weapon/armour builds are good to grind with etc) Also, what tools/scripts would you recommend to a nub? First of all : We cant see your stats --blanc side "403 - Forbidden" so its hard to help u this way. Try to use the forum File Attachment. Second: you really should read this first LinkIm sure it will help u pretty much Script download hereI would recommend u to use HV STAT, HV Random Encounter Notification , CSS Userstyle: HV Monster Letters to Numbers , HentaiVerse Equipment Comparison and HV Ability Screen Resize This post has been edited by Bonebuster: Dec 19 2012, 03:11

QUOTE(LiekZomg @ Dec 19 2012, 02:52) Hi, I'm a newbie and as such was wondering if I could get some help. My gear is comprised primarily of cheap crap atm. These are my stats: [ i.imgur.com] Stats[ i.imgur.com] Equipment[ i.imgur.com] Abilities[ i.imgur.com] TrainerI'm using a 2h mace cause I liked the domino effect with the stun but I'm starting to wonder if I should change my build. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) All of your imgur links are unviewable, try again. Until then, Read the wiki and install the Item Comparison script, also Hourlies Countdown Timer script and HV Stat script. When posting equipment stats, just link them (hoover above name and press "c" at popup) At your level, any build is fine, but mages will have tougher time due to lack of survival spells (except Shadow Veil and Cure) and higher mana usage. If you are still struggling, try Dual Wield (Club + Rapier) and Fleet Shade (monsters around your level dont hit very hard, so you can recover quickly with Cure)

Thanks for the quick replies. Hopefully those links work and I'll check out those scripts / the wiki, thanks. I didn't link my gear specifically cause I don't think any of it's worth linking (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) This post has been edited by LiekZomg: Dec 19 2012, 03:36

Advice for newbies with wrong dress code: Do not mix armor types Do not wear Cottons or Leathers Do not wear specific mitigation suffix such as Fire-eater, Thunder-child, Stoneskin, Dampening, etc. Heavy shall wear Protection Plate or Protection Power, Fleet/Arcanist for Light, Elemental Gossemar for mages. Weapons should have Slaughter (Balance or Nimble for offhand if DW), Staff should be Elementalist or Focus This post has been edited by Coma: Dec 19 2012, 03:30

i have a question based on this, is it worth it to use kevlar for lower mp costs? also is protection worth it, seems better to just use cure

Yes and yes If Kelvar has Protection suffix, totally worth the mp cost (not as much as Heavy armors) Protection spell is very wonderful when used with Protection suffix armors, as it reduce damage. Since health potions have increased duration (at lower HP recovery) and are very cheap, you can afford assign Cure only as "crap-I-am-will-be-dead-with-just-one-hit" emergency spell

After this patch, are mages and power slaughter the best options ? I think easier mobs making Protection, Evade and Parry worthless.

Depends on your preference. All builds are valid, even into late game (except maybe Elemental mage and Protection Kelvar user) At higher level, it does not matter what build to choose, as long as you are comfortable. You are free to experiment and switch what builds suit you the most. The WTS shops offer free equipments to newbies, so you dont have to spend too much cash in experimenting basic builds (just dont expect free Power armor or Phase) QUOTE(chamois @ Dec 19 2012, 07:20) After this patch, are mages and power slaughter the best options ? It is about the same, except without 501th and the 1000PL+ monsters Easier mobs dont means they cant one-shot you via MP/SP zerg rush, especially in IWBTH rounds. This post has been edited by Coma: Dec 19 2012, 07:29

For kevlar you need legendary&magnificient equipment like Evil Scorpio. If you need mitigation, just use heavy. Spell like protection is placed in the Innate Arcane slot, and yes it's worth using heavy armour and using automatic protection(especially with high physical mitigation, your character will just like tickled when attacked by enemy)

QUOTE(cdog21 @ Dec 19 2012, 06:42) I never used Regen before because the potions were always enough for me.
It's a trap! (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Regen still worths it as you can do much more with better curative prof at high level. And if you don't use regen/cure, you'll never get curative prof. It's something that's a better choice over time. QUOTE(4EverLost @ Dec 19 2012, 10:53) Bleeding Wound hits Ragingheart Exelion for 8102 damage. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) I wonder how you did that... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) That looks quite impossible on paper, but impossible is nothing. QUOTE(mastaninja @ Dec 19 2012, 13:07) so if i am a 2h melee should i use kevlar for the entire game, or switch to heavy at some point, or what
If you don't plan on using shade later (which relies on evade instead of protection and is much different), you should go with heavy (which seems to be a bit easier currently). Or you can stick with kevlar, but nobody knows how the balance in HV shifts Maybe it will get better, maybe it will be even worse. So you need to see if you're willing to take that risk.

Bleeding Wound hits Ouzai Shadow Killer White for 8017 damage. Bleeding Wound hits Eila Ilmatar Juutilainen 501st for 8017 damage. Did a BT grindfest and got pretty much the same amount of crystals/hour as before. It should have been a little higher but I'll have to see what happens if I do anymore. Equipment was junk but they dropped every 11 rounds on avg.
