What about the artifacts?

I think that falls under the "sell everything" category, hath don't come often from those (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) If you stuck with 17k each I will buy all of them though...

I sell them. I tried shrining 3 of them over the last few days, got all crystals (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) . So that wasn't exactly encouraging. But maybe that's just bad luck. What's the percentage on getting hath from an artifact?

About 25%, so 55-70 hath/100 artifacts.

Seem to me like they start out as equal and ability points/attribute points have diminishing returns.

unless you strike gold on a godly drop, the only way for a normal player to get lots of hath is to buy them.

Thank you all for your inputs so far! (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
When I don't see any problematic monster, I Banish 1st turn, then use Purge or Pestilence to clear out the remainders.

Your whole idea sounds okay. But then mages are a little bit weak recently because of the resists.
Seems a patch is coming though, so you have to decide to stick with heimdall, change to fenrir, or go meleeing.

QUOTE(loserneo @ Dec 12 2012, 06:03) *

I have 64% PMI with 5% evade and 17.5% parry, and whether or not you get roasted is totally dependent on how many 1000PLs you get in any given round. In IWBTH, each big5 generally comes to a quarter of a mana pot for me. But my damage is pretty pathetic though. If I could 1shot them with spirit cleave, it would be much less of a problem.

Side question, is IA1 good enough to buy immediately? I'm a heavy melee with a gold aura mana regen bonus. I will have 50 Hath by dawn. Or should I sit on it for options and wait for the next 100 hath and go straight to IA2 because that's where it's really worth it?

It's more about how people can survive when facing strong monsters. Occasionally there's that one difficult round where multiple high PL monsters pop up, and that's the test on defense. And with around 75% mitigation I still get my HP below 50% occasionally, so I'm not sure if 60% would work.

And IA1 and IA2 are good. Don't estimate the power of less microing in HV as it actually helps. Much smoother if you don't need to notice the spell duration every 10 turns.

QUOTE(HigherMakoto @ Dec 12 2012, 06:10) *

For plate, how many offensive power pieces should I get versus the amount of defensive pieces?

It's all about the defensive ability you have, as others have said.
My suggestion is to look at the (100%-mitigation) data. It may not sound that much be increase from 60% to 70%, but in reality it decreases your damage taken by 25% (40% -> 30%).

QUOTE(Slobber @ Dec 12 2012, 08:33) *

I mentioned the reasoning for SoL a while ago but cbf to find the post again. it's very logical (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

In short: your mana is doomed if you cast SoL and let it proc 5 turns later. IA average out the mana cost.

First, I would like to reiterate that this thread is amazing. This is basically the only game forum I've ever been part of where there isn't flaming in every other post. Still not used to it. Lots of <3 to all of you.

Time's better spent on fapping. Suggest that next time when you see a flame war (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

EDIT: *checks Kagoromo's equips* AIIIEEEEE! Where have you been putting your money? AIIEEEEE!

(IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I have been over-spending on trainings I guess. Just recently decided to max out Pack Rat/Refined Aura, get 125% Exp, 50 AP, 17 Scav, 7 LotD, 5 Quartermaster and 3 Archaeologist. I don't normally make that much money anyway, before level 200 I hardly ever did Arena daily, only fought IWBTH hourlies for experience so I am probably a lot poorer than average.

I still can't decide whether to switch to Fenrir mage or to 2H heavy. At the moment which path requires less money to do decently?

plate for physical mitigation.
shield only for people that want to use 1h+shield(barrier suffix)

edit:
of all three heavy armour.
-Plate have highest physical mitigation
-Shield trade off physical mitigation for block chance(no damage upon success block)
-Power trade off physical mitigation for attack damage, attack accuracy and attack critical

But normally shield build that emphasis on block chance use 1H+shield(boost block chance up to another 30%). I don't know how fast 1H+shield can kill monster with 100/200 prof, but it's definitely slow bellow 100(as we kill monster 1 by 1)

You do know that Domino Strike wont proc if the main target parry/evade it? Eila loves to parry/evade like there isnt tomorrow.

At least the weaklings aint parrying as often as Eila like mad. Just suggesting to play it safe, that is all.

but 1 hit from eila hurts like being hit by all other monsters combined (well, usually, there are some who are close to eila 501st power).
So beating her faster is worth it.

Approximately how valuable are the "special" battle items (soul stone, bubble gum, flower vase)? I don't really see them listed in shops much so its hard to compare.

Not that much. People don't even set item shop bots for them. (except soul stone, but it's not far away from the minimum bid)

I'm one of the few who buy them.
They normally sell for approximately:
Soul Stone 1200c
Bubble Gum 2000c
Flower Vase 2800c

Is there a point in getting Spark of Life at level 106?

I had found it helpful for IWBTH random encounters and FSM without silence, though can't keep it up for long duration arenas. Honestly, it gives you something nothing else does at this point, so even if rarely used to level, you just *might* want it sometime.

there is, especially if you challenge Ring of Blood lv 100 monster. As you don't have silence yet, your chance to survive their skill is Spark of Life

Hell yes!
You could say that playing on IWBTH requires SoL when you're up against 7 or more monsters. At least you won't get a surprise death from criticals or skills.
I'd suggest chucking in as many points into it as soon as possible. The extra turns you gain can be crucial in recovery.
