You're having too many spare ability points and aura points. Find a way to use them.

Focused Aura III shows up at the 190 tier, as does Spirit Shield. He should still pick up another point of Refined Aura to burn the other 3 extra points, but he'll have a use for em (and a sudden need to find enough AP to fill out all the Spirit Tanks too). 3 points into Violet would up his Magical Hit Chance to 92% (assuming Accuracy Auras are additive, which I'm not sure about), which should serve him well enough. I'm assuming as dedicated melee he's got Red-Orange-Yellow-Green all at level 3.

Judging by the amount of AP he has invested total he's only got about 20-25 points in Ability Boost, so he should be able to fill that out easily enough by just dumping a few hundred thousand into the next 30 levels of it or so.

Man, those are some cheap prices for exquisite/magnificent shade. When I was your level I think I spent 60k on a superior fleet breastplate in an auction.

Exquisite shade won't go for more than 200k usually (even the best stuff). Hey guys! I'm quite new to the HV, I've read the wiki and browsed a bit the forums and I have a question to make. When is a good time to attempt IWBTH hourlies? As in min lvl and equip, I play in heroic and I'm 35, following the wiki and going heavy armor w shield. I've beaten blazing field in hard easily wo items and playing in heroic I can reach quite easily round 20 in grindfeast wo items (except gems ofc). Btw, sword-and-board is doable in higher lvls or should i go for 2H or DW? ( I mostly go by what i get from drops, got a bit of prof in DW).

Better to post your equips (if you've read the wiki page you should know how to do that (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)) so we can see if there's anything to improve on equips.

IWBTH/BT hourlies is for fast leveling. It seems most can do that easily on BT with DW, especially with high parry weapons and solid armor.

1H isn't the greatest thing possible in HV, but there isn't that much problem at lower level. At high level it's dominated by 2H due to killing speed, with occasional usage of DW. It's rare to see someone using 1H only and reach level 300 (in fact, I've seen none). So it's better to have some preparations. Luckily you have found this thread (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Depend your equipment and abilities, the best answer is "try it out yourself" You cant understand your own strength unless you have tried IWBTH at your own level.

I suggest you switch to DW (excellent in Hourlies and RoG) or 2H (clear higher arena, IW and crystalfest very fast) atm, since 1H+Shield is too slow, especially after level 100 when the # of monsters per round cap increase.

You can check WTS for freebies (the thread topic will have [Free]) or just post your equipments here, someone will be feeling so pity for you and give you some nice equipments.

It's not pity; people don't need to beg here for equips.
We're just utilizing the idea to recycle the equips and give them to new players so the community can grow, rather than getting a few hundred credits.

Stats by the book, AP to HP, MP, Slots and Weaken & Cure.

I suggest you not to look at any Shortsword again, ever, since its stats are medicore at best. You will want Slaughter Axe/Club/Mace/Estoc/Scythe as mainhand (if DWing, Balance/Nimble Rapier or Dagger as offhand)

Do not look at any armor with Stoneskin, Dampening, Thunder-child, Fire-eater etc unless it is of Magnificent quality and cheap. You want Protection/Barrier/Slaughter suffix. For PABs, you want it have at least STR and DEX/END.

Luckily for you, Protection Plates usually come very cheap so you might afford a full Superior set with less than 50k.

Get Protection ability if you dont have it, you will need it as Heavy

I appreciate the thought but i prefer playing w my own strength, if i have to get items from other players it will have to be with a good amount of hard-earned cash (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif). Currently I have all proficiencies at my level * 0.75 or a bit less, fully trained Pack Rat and Refined Aura, Haste and SoL always in IA slots (I have only managed to get 2 rank of IA btw) but I still have difficulties clearing Arenas higher than Nightmare without running out of mana pots. Techniques like ET and casting mana intensive stuff while on SS don't really seem to help much; I think the amount of mana that I save on those occasions can't come close to the amount I spend when a few elite customs (with high resist chance or just simply stupidf*ck resistant) appears in a single round.


Anyway, here is my current Heimdall set:

Magnificent katalox staff of heimdall
Superior phase cap of heimdall
Fine phase robe of heimdall
Exquisite phase gloves of heimdall
Exquisite phase pants of heimdall
Fine phase shoes of heimdall

The main problem with your Hemidall is damage, two of your equipments dont have INT, which is very bad since mage need it the most. A good mage cloth shall have INT WIS and AGI, DEX is utterly useless

Consider using Destruction Katalox? Or even a Hallowed Katalox of Hemidall. The damage from a suffix-boosted Katalox just wont cut it in post-200 arena.

Hemidall to Fenrir is like Protection Power to Slaughter Power.

There isn't that much difference between phases having INT/WIS and those missing either of them. It would be better if you can find equips with both present, but if you can't find it...well, they're still okay, usable.

How are you using your spells? I assume you alternate between holy/dark spells.
Heimdall isn't that great on that actually; if you still have some credits, find some fenrir equips and a katalox of destruction.

When I don't see any problematic monster, I Banish 1st turn, then use Purge or Pestilence to clear out the remainders. When the top 5 jump in though (well, more like top 20 now, so many more troublesome monsters pop up following each passing day (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) ), I try to Imperil the toughest one (I have 1 such free turn to deprecate stuff and 2 to use supportive spells, with Haste up of course) then use Ragnarok followed by Banish. Probably not the most mana saving combo ever but I do find it necessary to utilize the Blunted Attack effect on those occasions when I wouldn't be able to shoot down all mobs within 2 spells (given that they don't resist me as well...)

Put me at about 62% PMIT. Together with this estoc which I got for cheap, I can do Heroic arenas up to Growing Storm. A decent way to kick-start 2H prof I guess (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Hey folks,

I need a sounding board today on some 2H ideas. I've held off on going 2H until I hit enough proficiency on DW to activate the 3rd tier skill, which I finally received, only to realize that my Overcharge Boost doesn't increase fast enough to be able to pull it off in time. Also add to the fun is since my proficiency on 2H is horrible (1.79; I know, I know), I'm dropping about 600 points off my base damage stat until I can get the proficiency up to snuff. I know about the Estocs as the primary idea for 2H weapons, but for now I'm leaning towards going the Mace route until I get used to it; besides I think I'd rather have the stun effect more than penetrated armor for now.

So here's my train of thought:
1. Work on the Overcharge for a bit with the ability points through levels and Ability Boost Trainer.
2. Find a better mace, preferably Etheral or maybe something elemental (I'm thinking Hallowed or Demonic)
3. Work on the proficiency to help get things back to some sort of normalcy (Arenas, Hourly Battle, and Grinding).

Other than that, any other suggestions to add to this?
