No one ever did answer my questions about proficiencies: should I worry about grinding them at my level, given that they're 1/3rd of my level at best? When does one need to worry about prof grinding?

Well....the one you should worry a bit at around lv. 100~110 is deprecating prof, which is useful against gods when you need to have tons of debuff on. But something like 50%-75% and some careful debuff choice should be enough. Others should come naturally.

The recent route I've seen is like: Scavenger ~ 35-40, QM ~ 12 - 15, then push LotD to max, hoping that you'll get enough good drops to cover the cost.

I highly doubt +5% base equipment drop chance is gonna pay off 700k in less than a year or so. LotD is the only thing that seems like it might cover its cost if you get lucky with a legendary phase or something.

It doesn't really matter who went down "first", it happened during the same turn: it's a double KO, you lose either way.

Does anyone know why my equipment is all still at level 0, 0 exp? I had the same equipment on for like 50+ levels...

It said that most of my equipment was very close to leveling when the patch first came out, then I unequipped the set I'm using right now for another set, and ever since then my original set of equipment including my sword has been at lvl 0, 0 exp and doesn't budge. I asked in the patch thread(this happened like 1 day after the patch for equipment level/exp) and I think tenburo said that it was a visualization glitch(that my equipment had levels/exp but I just can't see it) but now I'm not so sure cause it's been a very long time and many levels since then and nothing's still happening.

Your equip only gains exp through IW or forging it. The visual glitch was that it showed the old -now removed- item level as current exp.
