QUOTE(T_Starrk @ Nov 28 2012, 23:47) I guess maybe I am a little too picky, but I'm at the point where I don't want to buy "temp" armor and weapons. I want stuff I'd want to forge and shit. Exactly, I'm not at that point yet. I just need a more or less all-purpose armor I can carry to 200 without getting rolled over. QUOTE(fishinsea @ Nov 28 2012, 23:53) Branching off into heimdall will be long ways away, so if you can resist for awhile, try to stockpile some credits. You never know when stupidly awesome gear will go up for auction (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Haha, by stockpile I mean I hold on to stuff that I find, like the two light armors I linked earlier. As you have mentioned, I don't have the credits to blow on every other shiny out there.

200 is not as bad as you might think. Dont worry too much about it

Question about action speed: It looks like 400 is the max, after all bonuses. Assuming haste is up, that would mean 266 base speed will become 399 speed. How does x-action interact with this by lowering base action time? Would that mean after 213 base speed, melee attacks are as fast as possible without swift strike potencies?

QUOTE(loserneo @ Nov 29 2012, 05:38) I just got this at an auction for 70k, I think it was worth it as I start to build a reasonably good pow/slaughter collection. For now I'm going to see if I can't do plate protection cuirass/leggings and pow/slaughter everything else. This would be for mostly arenas. That does more damage then what I use. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) QUOTE(T_Starrk @ Nov 29 2012, 05:47) That's a nice helmet for 70k. But I can't bring my self to buy heavy armor without endurance anymore (despite 4everlost's advice that it doesn't matter on slaughter). I guess maybe I am a little too picky, but I'm at the point where I don't want to buy "temp" armor and weapons. I want stuff I'd want to forge and shit.
Its not that END doesn't matter, I just don't need it so I'm ok with using slaughter without END. Others need to see if dropping once piece for something else is best. Often the trade off is worth it. I would like for all my Slaughter gear to have both STR, END, Mit + godly attack damage but I won't pay tens of millions for that stuff. If you can get stuff like loserneo's helm for under 100k (just because it doesn't have END) you can get a full set for 500k-1000k when a really good power/slaughter piece sells for +5M. You may not want to upgrade the cheap stuff but its still good and worth IW. Some of the old stuff I use to use. Its not great but it worked until I found an upgrade. Average Power Armor of SlaughterFine Power Armor of SlaughterSuperior Power Armor of SlaughterMy current Superior Power Armor of Slaughter only has STR & AGI but has +613 AD

Does the difficulty effects the drops(quality or quantity) at Cryfest?

Drop chance => no Amount of crystals per drop => yes http://ehwiki.org/wiki/CrysFestQUOTE(PK678353 @ Nov 29 2012, 09:56) Ahh, it's conversations like these, with half a dozen people picking apart Power/Protection vs Plate and Slaughter that make me despair that any reasonably readable article could ever treat on the subject of HV gear values and not have gaping holes. . .
It's never something easy. I know, but that's for normal players who aren't lv.390, don't have any plate of turtle and don't have HG metal to upgrade his armors (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) And yea, testing is important. We can provide all the theory/testing/advice here, but still it's up to a player to actually attempt something to see if it suits his/her style. You should probably spend some credits on some intermediate armor though. My view is like usable starter armor (a few thousand credits, usable but with defects) -> decent intermediate armor (around a few hundred thousand credits, no defects but not perfect) -> ultimate armor (multi-million credits, almost perfect, rarely on the market) QUOTE(Arxdewn @ Nov 29 2012, 14:31) Question about action speed: It looks like 400 is the max, after all bonuses. No. Simply speaking, x-action applies independently from action speed. This post has been edited by varst: Nov 29 2012, 13:03

varst: agree, though I think you missed a step there. also strongly agree on style/testing, as joy ~ time spent on HV is bit more important than having the best possible efficiency with less time spent. A DW+shade user who does arenas and IW will get better results than estoc+power user who does just the arenas.(Also, it IS a game)

I need someone to enlighten me about Innate Arcana hath perk. From wiki: Unlocks the first auto-cast slot in the HentaiVerse. This allows you to select a spell that will be cast automatically.
1. Somehow the spell cast automatically from start of turn without mana cost? 2. From the text, the spell expire when mana go bellow 10%. Is it the same for the next level of Innate Arcana? And what about that reduces total upkeep? 3. Can my supportive magic proficiency increase when I use Innate Arcana? Thx

1. No, you pay the upkeep cost, and the spell keeps the effect. Just treat it as a continuous effect that you need to pay per turn. 2. Yes. Once your mana goes below 10% the spell will dissipate. The reduction in total upkeep works as it's stated and won't affect that mana limit. 3. Yes, it's dependent on the total upkeep cost instead of the number of casts.

Hey folks, Ok it's official: I think I'm an idiot when it comes to weapons and equipment. While I've had fun picking up various equipment in auctions, and have installed some of the scripts to do comparisons of various pieces of equipment. So I can't figure out for the life of me why equipment I compare show the stats to be better that I have, but when equipped it's an overall drop to my stats. Here's my recent annoyance: Current hand equipment: Fine Shade Gauntlets of Negation. It's ok, and the PA's for Str, Dex, and AGI are rather decent. Some options I've picked up: Superior Shade Gauntlets of the Arcanist The overall stats are better than the Fine set, but the Str and Dex are gone. I suppose because of that my overall base damage drop about 25 points. Another is the Superior Shade Gauntlets of Negation. Again same scenario: Dex and Agi take a drop, End increases, but STR is gone. Here's my general question I guess when looking for equipment. It's obvious that the attack power plays a role, but in some ways do the PA's become a larger effect on the equipment? If you need more info on anything, let me know (Sorry I kind of turned this into a rant). laters, RRViper (who's getting tired of finding stuff that looks great on paper, and then turns out not so good.)

Not an expert but i think your current equip would be better overall than the rest but your 3rd equips does looks promising. Does your 3rd equip provide higher dmg when equip as oppose to current equip? Base on my wiki understanding there rlly is a lot of things to take into account in terms of PA's become larger effect on the equipment as they both do scales with level.Example based solely on dmg optimization 1 str = 2 dmg per point of str and proficiency does takes into account while calculating dmg. Not sure about how stats and bonus dmg scales but if they were to scale evenly then your current equip would lose out in dmg compared with your 3rd equip due to the str bonus from 3rd equip and as it scales to higher lvl that gap will increase. But for other bonus stats like endurance there might havee diminishing returns for dmg mitigation. This ofcourse does not include equipment lvling / forging as i havent experience them yet and they might change the scaling factor which for bonus stats takes a major role. All above are base on my current understanding from HV wiki. This post has been edited by DaReaper: Nov 29 2012, 16:05

QUOTE(DaReaper @ Nov 29 2012, 21:33) I liked to ask some info about the items sold in the bazaar equipment shop. Are they randomly generated items or are they items sold by random players to the bazaar itself?
The system only restock crystals. All other equips/items are sold by players. QUOTE(RRViper @ Nov 29 2012, 21:14) So I can't figure out for the life of me why equipment I compare show the stats to be better that I have, but when equipped it's an overall drop to my stats.
Well, you DO observe that those equips have different amount/value of PAB, right? That's the reason. PAB do have effect on equips: STR on melee offensive power, END on defensive mitigation, AGI on action speed, INT on mage offensive power, WIS on mana, DEX on a bit of every melee aspects. Are they important? Yes. How important? Different players have different perspective and is difficult to generalize. It's better to look at the real attributes you want for equips: for example, for shade you want ADB/evade. AGI/STR is a plus. PMI and END are good, but shade isn't that good on defense. That's probably the more important stats you want on shades. And to answer your question: your total ADB decreases because the second shade lacks STR/DEX, even though it has better ADB. All the PABs have the same scale factor, so if you see one with lower base, it surely will be less when it's scaled to your level. This post has been edited by varst: Nov 29 2012, 15:57

Good PABs often trump good stats as far as results go. A good example of this is turtle armor which often gives you better PMI than protection plate because of the high endurance. Make sure you always add the PABs onto the main stats when comparing equipment, for example, each points of strength adds 2 damage while every point of dex. adds 1 damage, 25 points of dex. add 1% of crit, 25 points of agility add 1% of evade and 50 points adds 1% of crit, 25 points of endurance adds 1% of PMI (those are some of the more important ones for melee). You should always do the math before buying new equipment.

Level up and you'll have more HP. But mainly by evading the damage, using cure (with holy EDB), oneshotting so many rounds that the gems naturally keep HP up and spark of life giving temporary physical boost.

QUOTE(T_Starrk @ Nov 29 2012, 01:10) It helps to have decent PMI as well as evade if you can. It's good insurance for when the evade fails (even if I get hit with a good shot Regen II brings me back up in no time). Low 40% evade is a good number to shoot for at first though because that's about when I started being able to finish long arenas on IWBTH. I wear cloth armor and my evade barely reached 30% not to mention crappy PM and non-existent parry are you wearing a full fleet shade?

QUOTE(loserneo @ Nov 29 2012, 03:02) Uh-oh, is that just because power or protection isn't that great? I thought par excellence for heavy armor was ~90% at 200+. I might have to go to a crude IWBTH IW with the shittiest 2h I can find to spam armor prof, because I'm definitely leveling a little too fast. I'm happy with regen2 for now. Hmm, a very kind person actually lent me a maxed ethereal estoc of slaughter. At the moment, its no slower than the bleeding weapons on hell and lower, and its definitely faster for nintendo and above. That solves the pierce problem because it has void and elemental strike. I really like it, but again I'm feeling the pain in high level arenas because my PMI is a lowly 53.9%. So I'm not sure whether to solve this problem by investing heavily in amazing armor (mirandakerr 2gud) or investing in a temporary mace.
i'm not investing heavily on armor. both weapon cost me ~1.4m but all of my armor only ~500-600k. i just can't find good shade in the market. for our veteran Legendary Ethereal Rapier of Balancehow many times you've seen that kind of holy shit? bidding 8m with 8 days to go, can i expect it to rise to ~16m in the end? edit please watch my OC scenario i use spirit stance a few turns ago hit FSM then appear this hit it again then appear this hit it again, OC deplete as usual i did the same before i notice that my OC didn't deplete for 2-3 hit(didn't pay much attention) my log was crit>crit(i start to notice)>crit>crit>(deplete as usual)normal. any idea? You actually managed to make 2 mil in 120 levels (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Question: what do monster levels (not PL) do? I kinda forgot they existed after a certain point but does it affect damage/hp and whatnot?

It is normal, I think, I used to make that much back when I was 120, until I blew them all in Hath Perks Monster level defines its exp, strength, and hp according to player's level (235lvl Eila have slightly less hp and hit slightly weaker than 238lvl Eila), think of it as stat multiplier from the Lab Stats.
