got to level 40, should i max haste? i heard somewhere the scroll is more effective (since i have low proficiency + malus), plus it's not a "self cast" and might be subject to the failing ratio due to interference?

Support spells can't fail. Interference wouldn't have an effect. Haste is definitely useful, but it would probably help if you posted your stats + whether you are melee/mage, etc.

I'm currently trying to grind some levels, using a 2-handed sword with bleed.

Basically because I can hit multiple enemies and cause wounds on all of them, which makes it all pretty fast at high wound damage and high percentage of chance.

that's the point, since i read on the HV calculations thread that the haste spell is worth 1/5 of the scroll (excluding prof. which is very low on me), i was wondering if it's ok to spend 5 points for a spell with minimum affectiveness

i see i have a very high magic prof malus, is that because i am overencumbered with heavy armor? i am doing a normal fighter with healing/shield to last longer, its better to keep light/cloth and rely on support magic or keep going with heavy and use magic just to prevent death?

as for abilities, i have only tanks,auras,items,heal,shield

If you want to maximise your EXP gain, 1H will let you survive the longest (probably - I don't think maging would work at your level). You need a lot of patience though.

luppolo, here's some con and pros I can tell you for a fighter like you regarding haste.

Pro:


1.You gain proficiency (you always need moaarrr)

2.You can replace the the item slot needed for haste with a greater mana pot which allows you to cast haste for more turns and on demand whenever you need it.

3. You don't have a scroll-only slot, so you will end up replacing a potion or draught slot with your scroll.

4. Since you replaced that Haste scroll with something else like a mana pot or draught, if you don't want haste, you ARE NOT STUCK WITH HASTE, you can use it for some other support spell!

Cons:

1. When you get to a higher level where scroll-only slots open, you can't put a potion or draught, so some of the Pros i mentioned earlier turns into m00t points.

2. You waste 5 ability points. DO NOT bother with only 1-4 points in haste, either max it, or forget about it. Half assed support spells aren't worth your mana.

I just want/need advice in general, cause I don't think I have any idea of what I'm doing. Who knows, maybe I'm not as clueless as I think lol

If you're going to melee, melee. If you're going to mage, mage. You're too low in level to even consider doing both.

That said, don't bother putting points into elemental spells unless you can fill out the tree.

HP and MP Tanks should be your priority after the permanent Abilities.

Get a real weapon. Unless you've got one of those amazing daggers that are basically shortswords, they are shit mainhands.

Light armor for the most part is useless. Put together a whole suit. If you're going to use only 1H, get a high-Block shield.

Well what do you recommend I get for a weapon? And when it comes to an armor set, what level should I buy them at?

stuff at around 80-140 scales best and gives room to grow, Don't get stuff over 140, that's when scaling takes a massive dump on you due to you being too low level.

Faster killing.

The bleed damage is pretty nice and I can hit 2 to 3 monster at once. On Hard Mode, I can usually get 50 levels in Item world, in a crude item.

Getting about 200exp in the later levels per level.

When many enemies are dealt with, you slash with a sword, and stop being enough.
It is over in that if you take a powerful blow if you equip the expensive armor of the defense power or you don't have attack avoided.

Depends on what kind of fighting style you want. If you go shield, shortsword or rapier. If you go DW, you can make combos with shortswords, rapiers, axes, and daggers. Longswords and katanas are the way to go if you do 2H.
