Before the patch I carried 10 Godly Mana Potions and 3 Godly Spirit Potions, but now I've changed that to 9 and 4 respectively. I did have to Ether Theft more than usual to make up for more MP usage though, as sometimes it was just safer to start out with a T3 spell...

Yup my deprec prof sucks. No reason to cast deprec on typical mobs. It's just a headsup that the IWBTH RoB advice isn't too applicable for noobs. I could NEVER get a third spell on lol.

You should go and train some depre prof. I'm not sure about your current prof level, but you need 50-75% in order to use your deprecating spells effectively.
And you probably want some mitigation armor. Heavy's still prefered IMO, since leather basically sucks.

It's not that useful, so I won't expect much from this if I were you. You should probably keep this as a souvenir though.

Nope, its perfectly fine.

EDIT - people need to learn that absorption takes place before the damage, so first the excess damage is absorbed, then you take 1229 damage.

Yes, the total damage is 1229 + 1434. 1229 is the actual damage dealt, 1434 is absorbed to SP damage.

Before, I thought it was blocking 25% of your HP, and you'll only take damage if the damage exceeds 25% of your HP.

Going back to your case.

1. You need to allocate EXP into WIS, since it gives you more mana and mana regen.

2. Try to find equips with higher level. Stats won't scale up to match your current level, and your equip's not good enough to spend time on item world. You can find tons of equips in WTS.
For armors, try not to use warding, as magical mitigation isn't proven to be useful. Power armor of slaughter is probably too expansive, so you can try to get some power armor of protection.
As for niten....it's not the best choice. Try to use 2-handed weapons with slaughter suffix.
I'm not sure which type of weapon is better though; I don't see any particular 2-handed weapon to be suitable for new players.

You should be able to level it up to ~200 without problem.

Yeah a couple of weeks ago when I had time for IW, I was doing fine stuff on nightmare no real problem, and a month before that, exquisite stuff on normal. Varst made it sound like at low 200~ level, we shouldn't be playing IW on normal.
