QUOTE(4EverLost @ Jun 9 2012, 18:29) If you're only going 2HD/Heavy you should try and get them both +200
Will do, but does the magic cost increase when the proficiency increases as well?

QUOTE(Yuuki17 @ Jun 9 2012, 19:21) Proficiency has no effect on spell cost
Then what causes the increase in magic cost?

spells cost more as you level up, but with higher proficiency they last longer.

Ohhh, okay then. I guess I'll go train them and get them over 200. Thanks. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

this patch is giving me the urge to rage-quit being a pure mage and convert to heavy melee.
so what kind of heavy armor and weapon should i go for?
edit: what's the diff between light and heavy?

Well, heavy melee would be harder for you if you are not used to it. Currently, I'm getting my ass kicked back and forth while doing 2H at heroic difficulty (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) <---mage converting to heavy 2H

You're just 1 more level away to be able to play in marathon arena. Once you're there, play it at normal and throw every trophies you get into the shrine for cloth and hope for a decent edb phase.
If you're really want to play Heavy melee, get an estoc (a normal one is fine for normal mobs, but eth is a must for fighting bosses) and wear whatever is the best Heavy armor you got (plate is good for beginner: common, cheap, and work fine) then go to arena and whack away...

You're doing it wrong, then. What in particular is the issue?

If we're talking hourlies, my guess would be getting caught in a Cure cycle. The monsters hit harder, so you barely have a net gain if at all. Before you know it you're out of MP just from trying to keep your health up. Now more than ever it's all about "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!"

Horrible movie! Best title ever though and nice racks on the actresses.

well... ever since this patch, i feel that the monsters are getting significantly hardly to kill and they hurt a lot more. maybe that's cos i am still using fox phase instead of EDB phase... but before this patch things are still manageable. QUOTE(mustardpie @ Jun 11 2012, 00:45) Probably using elemental spells? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) on IW, i usually just use T1 holy (and occasionally T1 dark for the sake of prof) to clear the mob and eliminate any remaining ones with a T1 elec or fire. after round 100 or so i will switch over to T2 holy. hiaz... shouldn't have burnt thru all those credits for haths. anyone wanna donate some heimdall phase to me? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) i only heimdall i have gotten so far is this Superior phase shoes of heimdall.

I'm using Fox as well, and I'm not having so much of a problem. Then again, I don't use any Tier 1 spells.

What Chaos Upgrades would be good enough for my monsters? Most people seem to choose Fortitude to increase their HP by a significant amount.

The patch makes mobs have big differences in HP, even in the same round. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Falling back to nintendo to test things out. PA seems to be important now? This post has been edited by MidNightPass: Jun 10 2012, 22:43

T&T-IWBTH isn't much of a problem if you use great stamina. I don't think I want to take the time doing it with only normal stamina.
