always was and always will be. much like how trophies themselves are a form of gambling as well, no?
@shattered
depends how you play. what is your goal in playing? what is your budget? how much time a day do you have to play? if you're looking for your "best option" in terms of budget constraints, killing capability, leveling capability, leveling convenience, proficiency concerns. things aren't as simple as they may seem. although some posters in this thread will falsely dumb it down and tell you something simple.

I really don't have any sort of goals set, I just play the game and level up. As for my budget I guess its about 500,000c. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)
best way to see how "effective" investing a void weapon is would be to look for a non ethereal version of that weapon (better be exq+) and void shard it.
does it perform better than what you normally use? how much better? (do the gains outweigh the expenses?) is it better to just shard a non ethereal or buy an ethereal?
edit: "best" should be "nice"
"best" way would be to borrow the weapon itself and test

This is my current weapon, it sure does perform hell of a lot better with a voidseeker shard than with its normal crushing damage. And for borrowing a weapon, I don't know anyone who would be willing to lend me one. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif)

Yes, an ethereal mace would be a much better weapon to use anyway, but those are expensive and rare. Needs better stun proc, but your mace is powerful enough as it is. Problem is that Voidseeker shards are hard to get anyway much like infusions and scrolls.
i havent cleared RL yet in RoB so i was reading the wiki and some of the tips seem to contradict the info on RL in the Beastiary. one method given for tackling RL is to use an Elementalist loadout and cast MM's but RL is impervious to elementals and resistant to piercing so how is that gonna work? even it does is my staff prof high enough at 68.05 to kill RL with just MM's? i'm guessing its a war of attrition so i am prolly gonna need half my invy for Health pots and half for Manas. also how do i go about mitigating all that soul dmg if i am gonna use elly? the wiki says res tanks should be lowest priority but once i have the AP to spare i am thinking about making an exception for the holy/soul res tanks for bossing since i am an elemental user but i want someone elses opinion on loadouts and res tanks usefulness (or lack of)

Well....RL is also resistant against soul spells, so you won't lose much in terms of power output. Besides, MM is a free spell, so you (almost) don't need to worry about mana supply.
As for mitigation....when's the last time you receive specific type of damage from monsters?

all of RL's attacks do soul dmg thats why i was asking if searing radiance might actually be a useful res tank. i'm not gonna have the AP to spare for it until i finish filling out silence and i need 4 more points for that. between ability boost and artifacts it shouldnt be a problem pooling enough AP to get those filled.
No, because you need to fill the spell rank first, and only a handful of monsters (mainly gods/trio) which can deal soul/holy/dark normal attacks. The benefits simply doesn't pay off for that 4-5 APs.
Can I borrow a good estoc from someone? Will return. Don't want to bother el h too much.
Sent one and you may keep that. If you like that and have spare credits, send me 2k credits to cover the bazaar cost (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
