It depends on what item/quality you are doing the IW, the Difficulty and its level/rounds you need to clear.

For me monsters don't start hitting much until round 175, but as I go deeper +200, +225.. the gear I use makes more of a difference. The fastest is going to be Power/best damage, then Power/protection. Plate/Protection could work but you lose all the damage from power armor. I haven't used my shield armor in this patch other then a little one handed. I also haven't had time to test each setup on BT-CF.

I think Power/slaughter is best for arenas, but if you want to level up gear on IWBTH that is in the level +300 you're going to take a lot of hits so you'll need spirit pots.

Depends on the stats, but with turtle you get a lot more health.

Depend on Item Level and base END bonus, at higher level, the stat bonus starts to stack up and outperform Protection in term of mitigation, with higher Base Health as nice bonus.

My SD set is quality of fine/superior, and I do IW at nightmare (at normal stamina). But I might raise the difficultly if I am able to.

Just start with your best damage power setup and do an IW, CF, GF. You can then find how far you can go before things get bad. Then change 1 or 2 pieces that have the best Phy Mitigation with good damage. Then try the same run again to see how many more rounds you can do.

What spells do you use in IA in your IW-IWBTH runs? Are shards required to most effectively play heavy melee for 100+ rounds on high difficulty? I assume you're using Estoc + Power Armor of Protection for IW-IWBTH, and Mace + Power Armor of Slaughter for the level 200+ Arenas on high difficulty, right?

Do I have good equipment? I really don't know much about the equipment in HV. When I shop I usually just go with the equipment that has higher numbers than the one I currently have. Any tips on what I should change?

Haste, shadow veil, Spark, spirit shield when I melee most of the time then I cast protection/spirit shield to try and get channeling for regen II and heartseeker.

I don't use maces. Most of the time I use one of my estoc and the armor I use depends on the item I'm playing in. Best power armor or a mix of power/protection or slaughter or turtle.

I'll shard the armor if I know i'll be playing for 4 hours but I don't always do that if I just want to do arenas. Doing that is more for the lower cost of spells.

Depends on what stats you want, damage, phy mitigation, block or a mix of everything.

if you are killing too slow get more slaughter, if you get hit too much get more shield/protection, if your health is too low get more turtle gear.

You mean FSM? On Normal it's ususally Weaken + Imperil + Silence for FSM (along with Infusions of Divinity to hit FSM's weakness).

Get Spark of Life, even at Normal, FSM may one-shot you. Power Armor is fine, but watch out for suffix, Slaughter and Protection have much easier time while Warding may find it difficult to take down FSM before running out of mana.

Spirit Stance plus 2Hand's first Skill can end the fight sooner, try to do that after you proc PA.

Dont use Imperil, it wont stack well with PA

Wait, so...don't use Imperil? Should Weaken be the only thing I use on him at lvl 104?

Same here. I haven't even fought anyone in the RoB yet and those credits are just so tempting. Most people save their blood tokens for FSM because his item drop usually leads to good equipment. On IWBTH, the arena drop bonus is usually of high quality from FSM. You could fight FSM now, but you lose those blood tokens if you'll get killed. Better be prepared with better equipment and Silence, or just go ahead and attempt to kill FSM on Normal.

if you want blood tokens you should do all your arenas everyday (even if its only normal) after that grind as much as you can.

btw you can kill FSM before you kill the lower gods now?
