QUOTE(varst @ May 27 2012, 22:28) People always underestimate the extra MP from tanks/aura. Foe me that's bringing two more godly mana potions into battle.
According to my calculations it's like bringing one third of gold mana potions. It just gives additional 0.28 base mana that I can bring with me at the start of the battle. Am I missing something?

Yes. You get more credits per monster. QUOTE(piotr012 @ May 28 2012, 04:52) According to my calculations it's like bringing one third of gold mana potions. It just gives additional 0.28 base mana that I can bring with me at the start of the battle. Am I missing something?
That's total from those mana tanks and black aura. This post has been edited by varst: May 27 2012, 22:54

If I want to get credits quick, I go in the Arena since the clear arena bonuses are decent. You could sell rare equipment, hath, and artifacts if you want to, but you might have uses for them (perks, shrine bonuses, etc.).

I've already included that in my calculations. max mana = 2.8 * base mana (after including all mana tanks) So 10% * maxmana = 0.28 base mana Which is less than 1/3rd of a godly mana potion. So? Why are you saying that it's like bringing two godly mana potions?

Effect from both mana tanks AND black aura. Interpret it the way you like.

So, I'm on my way to becoming a Mage (from Scythe Melee Weapon User). I'm wondering if what numbers I should bring down my Primary Attributes: [ gyazo.com] http://gyazo.com/8cd80c2d25dde680b9a03356e17cd722For example: Is the following a good goal? Strength: 60 Dexterity: 60 Agility: 130 Endurance: 100 Intelligence: 150 Wisdom: 130 Thanks! Brb later!

It should look like 150 in WIS, 130 in INT, and more in END. Something like this: STR: 60 DEX: 50 AGI: 120 END: 130 INT: 140 WIS: 150

QUOTE(ChosenUno @ May 27 2012, 20:12) Oh I see. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Yeah, great spell @_@. Fuck it, I'm going back to silence (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Absorb isn't as good as I thought it would be. I just use it as a scroll. Silence is way more useful and saved me many times from death.

I'd say it exceeds the usefulness of 2 godly mana's. Don't forget that mana gems exist. Thanks to the RNG it isn't uncommon to find 3-4 mana gems in a row. You can waste those gems with a low max mana (use them/hold them and get no gems for x rounds), or reap their benefits in their entirety with a high max mana.

Put a bit more into STR/DEX and keep that at about 80% of your level. It should give you most of the benefits without sacrificing much of your EXP on them.

AFAIK the scroll version (the one ChosenUno used) has a 100% chance of triggering. In this case it didn't work because it was a critical hit. Awful spell, at the very least lacks a complementary one that covers its shortcomings. Or it should trigger ONLY on crits, you know, when it would actually be of some help...

its a great spell. when you use weaken you wont have any crits, if it goes off you get mana that can be more then it cost to cast the spell. if it doesn't work you have spirit shield and spark.

As an experiment, it turns out this combo worked pretty well to clear arena at hard: Equipment: SD set with estoc (pierce)
Spells: Regen, haste, SV, HS, SS and spirit mode when available.
Comments...?

On hard? IME, SV isn't even needed. The rest is the standard play-it-safe setup. Hardly a combo, tough.
