Stats don't have that much of an effect on gameplay and are pretty hard to screw up actually. I would just recommend keeping your lowest "tier" of stats at .8 of your level. The extra points will help with HP and SP and the way exp grows for stat points you won't really lose out on adding much to your top tier either.
EDIT: I've got a Bindings of the Thrice-blessed, Spirit-ward, and Negation as well as a Kevlar Piece. I've been staring at WTB for a while and there seems to be no real desire for them. Should I just throw all four to the bazaar?
EDIT2: loljk guess I found a place for the Kevlar Piece. Will probably have to dump the bindings though.

I think you should spent time getting your proficiency close to your level. It can be a pain to do it all at once, that is why I try and do it every 5 levels. Your Primary attributes: one point in INT costs you over a million exp and isn't going to do that much for you. Spending that same exp in STR/DEX can give you more bang. Maybe get them both to ~175 If you want you can look at this POST to see what I did at different levels with my stats. The Shade I use most of the time is just what gives me the most ADB. After that I look at Mitigation/evade and attribute bonus. I don't often look the AAB & ACB unless they are very high.

Er....well then. As Mr. Plow and 4EverLost have said, there's no need to focus on one particular stat now. Also, lowering them below 80% of your current level won't give you any more marginal benefits to other stat, as I've proven a long time ago. Proficiencies need more training, especially those on supportive/curative/depreciating prof. Those offensive magic prof. will increase when you cast them, so that's less important. Try this way if you want to gain some prof: get a staff with good mana conservation bonus, wear full clothes (owl is better as it gives you more magic regen, but others are okay), turn difficulty to easy, go into crude/flimsy IW, then start hitting monsters with your staff. When you reach a round with 8-9 monsters, stop hitting them and start casting supportive/depreciating/curative spells. Use those which cost you least mana, like weaken, spike spells and cure 1. This way you can train most of your prof at the same time. Depending on the time you have, you may want to stop when those prof. aren't increasing that much per run (probably at 75% of your level). You may also train 2-3 levels of Assimilator, as it surely helps. I will keep them as there's no limit on how many items I can keep. Sometimes you don't know when something will be useful later in your life. I still remember someone here dumping 100 high-graded leather into bazaar, only to find much later that he needs them to upgrade his shades (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) This post has been edited by varst: May 6 2012, 06:10

Grinding proficiencies sounds like good advice. I may wait until I can afford a second level of Assimilator so that it's less crazy-making.
Why would I particularly wait until a round with 8 or 9 monsters? Re-landing a deprecating proc doesn't get me the proficiency point?

Re-casting spells will give you prof., but you get more cloth prof if you get more attacks from monsters, whether it hits you or not. Cloth prof can be hell difficult to level up. This post has been edited by varst: May 6 2012, 06:14

The best difficulty to use is one notch above where things are too easy to be interesting and one notch below where things are so difficult as to be frustrating.
Nothing is telling me that you can't try out Hard. If you're consistently winning with some cushion for a couple days, kick it up to Heroic.

QUOTE(Fanservicefan @ May 6 2012, 07:30) Crosspost from https://forums.e-hentai.org/index.php?s=&am...t&p=1887383Another question. I recently reached level 90 and am thinking about going above Normal difficulty. Here's my current equipment, stats, and training: What's a good difficulty setting to climb up and stick to based on this? For starter, ditch Leathers, they are useless, just keep Kevlar (lose the Deflection and get Protection instead) and Shade (Fleet or Shadow-Dancer). But I wont recommend using Light Armor at your level because: it is not effective for clearing and survival at such low level, and those Shade armors cost hell a lot of credit, compared to heavy armor. It seems that you are a melee build, but you should try to balance your stats: get str and end a bit higher, int around 0.8 of your level, and wis near your level. Your prof is way too low, so train in IW some more, training tip is already posted above this post. Also ditch EXP Tank, you can get exp bonus just by spam 10 posts here daily, Adept Learner, and unlock level 1 aura (Blue, Indigo, and Violet). Abilities, invest in Weaken, Haste, Shadow Veil, get Spark later when you can. Get few extra points from Ability Boost, get Refined Aura whenever you can, also Pack Rat. Stock up on Godly Mana pots. Start at Hard difficulty and gradually move your way up, you can tune it higher when you felt comfortable: for me, I move higher when I stop using one Godly Mana for each Arena. It's difficult to define a good difficulty setting appropriate for everyone, because of those equip/ability/playstyle differences. You can try the following suggestions though: 1. more balanced stat As I've said, keep your stat at least 80% of your current level. WIS is also important for melees, so it should be at least equal to your current level. 2. Prof With more prof your supportive/depreciating spells will last longer, and your curative spell will heal more. So you may train them in normal crude IW. Since you don't need to train your cloth prof., you can stay in the 1st round and start spamming spells with a mana conservative staff and clothes. 3. Equips Better get some kevlar of protection at your level. Later you can change to shade for better evade, but right now protection is more important. You may also find a better mace in WTS which equip level higher than your current level. 4.Abilities Weaken will eventually be useful when you play in higher difficulties or facing a boss; also max haste and shadow veil. 5. Training Not a must, but you can train a few levels of scavenger (more drops), some pack rat (more item slots) and refined aura. But that's not a must now, and you can still focus on adept learner till 120~150/300 and ability boost till 40~50/100. 5. Aura Nothing wrong. This post has been edited by varst: May 6 2012, 08:04

Posting ten times gives an experience bonus? Since when?! And by how much?! As for Kevlar, I don't see it in the Bazaar too often and when I do its absurdly expensive (normally [read: if I could donate] this wouldn't be an issue, by which case I wouldn't even be grinding in the HentaiVerse). As for my heavy armor, those drop quite a lot in the Arena but I tend to sell them. I tried setting the difficulty to Nightmare but that just proceeded to piss me off; losing on Graduation is nothing short of an embarrassment. Haste served me well but I expected Shadow Veil to save me more times. I find myself using Cure more. Finally, Refined Aura is tempting but a whole day? I think I'll stick with Adept Learner and Ability Boost. The former works better then EXP Tank? Sounds odd.

For equips, try to buy them in the WTS sub-forum. It's cheaper than bazaar and offers better choices than bazaar. Adept learner works the same way as EXP tank, but you can free some Ability Points which you can then use on other abilities.

also can find quick link to player shops in signatures *hint hint*
question for forging. Equation for upgrading stats from forge? is the upgrade value from forging floored after calculating # of times upgraded ie
new_base_value = floor(base_value + (#of upgrades * .01*base_value))
I upgraded my rapier's parry, base 12.81 +1% (.1281) = 12.9381 > floored to 12.93.
it would suck to lose out from the rounding for subsequent upgrades.

There's no "new base value", unfortunately. The Base Value is always the original stat of the equip itself. If you upgade twice your parry above you calculate the upgraded value this way: 12.81 +2% (=0.2562) = 13.0662 rounded to 13.06 Thrice: 12.81 +3% (=0.3843) = 13.1943 rounded to 13.19 And so on. QUOTE(KCzz15 @ May 4 2012, 12:34) Is there any good way to remember to always recast Silence during long fights?
Twice now I've fought the FSM and it's been fairly easy - just a matter of time, but I've lost both times because I completely forgot to recast silence after a hundred or so turns go by and my attention slips followed very shortly by my getting horribly raped.
Yes, with the HV Stats add on you can set it up so it will give you a pop up X rounnds before silence wears off. It seems to sometimes bug out or not load quickly enough but FSM won't always 1 hit you in that round. PS: Why would the guy that's doing pretty much mage only need to level up STR? Sure, he'll get more spirit points but unless he's big on spirit shield (which he probably isn't, because he's a mage) that seems rather pointless - spark of life scales off of % base spirit which more STR would not help with. I understand that he can get a ton of STR levels for very little cost but it's not like STR really benefits him other than the minor hp increase. And my question: is there really a point in taking MP tanks other than just having that extra couple of hundred more mana for your whole run? Things seem to scale off of base mana and since I use so much mana I don't really see a point in having a high mana pool which is increased mainly through MP tanks. I would consider having something like 17 points or 34 points (or 33) in spirit tank MUCH MUCH more important for more SoLs.
