QUOTE(etothex @ Apr 29 2012, 19:55) danke, it use to scale w/ prof? was that broken as heck?
i remember when i had my lowbie mage decked out in full earthwalker gear when protect/shield scaled amount of damage absorbed. That was awesome. It would be nice if supportive prof actually still did something other than give you 1 more turn every 10 levels of prof (and seeing as how it's rounded, you don't get the bonuses when you hit 20 prof, 30 prof, etc, so it's confusing sometimes)
Pretty much every spell scaled into broken power mode around level 300, like if you go back to the patch they were changed people were saying it dropped their evade/AS/ect. by way more then Tenboro said it would. But it made the spells more equal for all, and ruined the Earthwalker build that a few people were doing.

QUOTE(ChosenUno @ Apr 30 2012, 18:18) Hi guys. I can't seem to decide between these 2 pieces. So I come here looking for advice.
They're pretty close. Would the shadowdancer one win out if leveled?
I think the shadowdancer one will be better, especially when you're using mace. 2% crit should be enough to compensate the 0.8 ADB loss.

How much OC do I need to pull off Frenzied Blows? I'm 10 prof away from it and thought it'd be a good idea to ask before resetting. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) At least 175 for skill-to-skill chain. You can still make it with ~155-160 or higher but it will require some more hitting while the cooldowns of the first 2 are not over yet to get some more OC.

Can proficiency be gained during a turn where you tried to cast a spell but failed due to lack of MP?

Nope. Only when you take a turn, not skip a turn.

when's the best time to have an auction end?
-edit- regarding channeling, is the chance calculated after interference / conservation applied or before? seems like when i feather my high interference gear, i get channeling less.

Varst: Do you prefer the new SD or the old ones?
Also, if I want to take the Dragons on BT, what tactics would you recommend?

Old SD has lower interference, which is a definite plus. However, most of them aren't that good in quality, so I'll try the new ones if they're clearly superior in quality. (ADB, crit rate and evade) Not sure about those dragons though, you may have to ask others who've passed DwD on BT. But then I still haven't seen anyone claiming they can finish DwD on BT as a melee, so...

With my current SD set: 2427.2 dmg (void) 96.1% hit chance 45.1% crit chance 120% mana cost 52.1% phy mit 48.5% mag mit 37% evade 29.2% parry 54.7% resist 41 interference I wonder if I want to try lol This post has been edited by MidNightPass: Apr 30 2012, 22:10

QUOTE(skillchip @ May 1 2012, 03:16) Those are really close, though I personally would take the fleet in this case cause of its higher pMit
But if levelled, the crit would be around 4%. Wouldn't that offset the 1% in phys-mit?

You can always increase mitigation through Protection, but you would need Heartseeker to increase that critical chance (which is very mana-expensive compared to Protection) I would take Shadowdancer, since in the long-run, you would have higher survival rate if you can take monsters out before you tried to dodge but missed... 1% phys-mit is nothing when scaled together with your armors. chance to kill faster is better in this comparison. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I thought everyone beat DwD as melee? Then again, I don't really pay attention to what other people do. I just beat it, but I cheated by spamming Scrolls of the Avatar and Gods and by using enchanted armor.

Maging is probably still the easiest/fastest way for that
