Since Mages seems to be full of suck-ass as the moment, I was thinking of trying out Melee once I hit L250.
I plan to distribute stats evenly to make switching back and forth easier.
What sort of euips / weapons should I be on the look-out for?

Wait a tick, I though you were a full time melee? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) And you got a kick-ass mace. That's enough (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

doesn't seem to really matter that much even when i was using estoc. i only have about 30 piont difference between wis/int and str/dex as far as base stats are concerned so that's like... ~200 weapon damage difference?

Probably (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) I seemed to confuse you with some guy who is always proud of his eth mace (which is not very special anyway). And I'm also balancing my stats out (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

it's no good to stick with 1 style unless you stuck with it. best to just use the style that suits your purposes at the current time. i still use my mage set. but i'm not going to be 1 dimensional and ignore the benefits of melee if they do some things better than mage (and vice versa ofc)
edit: unless you're* stuck with it

QUOTE(n125 @ Apr 29 2012, 01:34) I feel like I'm the only mage left these days. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) No worries, I've been a mage since Day One and I'm not inclined to change. It was great when mages were overpowered, terrible when they were nerfed, but overall pretty good these days.

QUOTE(n125 @ Apr 29 2012, 14:34) I feel like I'm the only mage left these days. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) I still mage 95% of the time. And I can still manage 1 level every 2 days if I'm in the mood to grind a bit. I can easily switch to melee anytime, though.

Hi 2 quickies: 1. Is it possible to simulate wounds inflicted on a monster? Being sick to death (literally!) of monster Crits me (& kill) when I'm fully loaded with health, scrolls, etc (really bad run I have...sounds like Yoda quote) while they are alive with <-3% of health. I find it amazing that virtually dead entity retain all fighting skills until it death. 2. How are drops calculated? Are calculations flexible? I read EH Wiki. It is absolutely bizarre that I can get 6 artifacts dropped in 5 games (Thursday) or collect 50 Chaos Tokens in one day (doing extensive grinding only on Sundays). On the other hand I struggling to collect Tokens of Blood, low or medium quality materials. I know it is about randomness. Spend considerable amount of credits on Training (difficult as donations do not work) but honestly I haven't noticed much difference. Sometimes it would be nice to see some balance - e.g. 1 artifact every couple days not 6 artifacts in 20 minutes and then nothing for 2 months. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif)

abilities says heartseeker increases in power w/ additional points. wiki doesn't say anything, so does it, if so, how much exactly?

Just duration by the looks of it, that's a relic of when it used to scale with proficiency

Tenb never stated how AP affects arcane focus, so we don't know. It doesn't matter that much though, as it's a spell you would definitely want to maximize at all costs.

danke, it use to scale w/ prof? was that broken as heck? i remember when i had my lowbie mage decked out in full earthwalker gear when protect/shield scaled amount of damage absorbed. That was awesome. It would be nice if supportive prof actually still did something other than give you 1 more turn every 10 levels of prof (and seeing as how it's rounded, you don't get the bonuses when you hit 20 prof, 30 prof, etc, so it's confusing sometimes)

The reason why it's changed is because it's pretty much useless for higher-level players, if shield still considers the amount of damage absorbed.
