well if you're doing low difficulty like me and have the decent armor you'll basically *never* die with ~20%+ block, SV, and regen 2. (although i was once one shotted by a white bunneh special crit and i was like wtfux!?!?! they can *still* kill me?!?! have been bewildering them when they're high SP ever since...)

*the lower the crit, the more your actual proc chance matters*, but in the end it's up to your patience since it's really unlikely for you to die. my illithid scythe is higher bleed damage + way more mana friendly (i usually *gain* mana from fighting with it)

but since i'm impatient, i want as high crit as possible - hence the balance scythe is perfect for me. sometimes i replace my shield leggings with http://hentaiverse.org/pages/showequip.php...;key=7328aa6010 just for that +crit. stopped using the power leggings when i started hard arenas though, since i prioritize survival a tad more in the hard arenas

Sprite is the best pick.


Joking aside, Giant and Dragonkin are great loot-bringers due to high Endurance and overall resistance. Mechanoid and Undead are also good, to piss off many Light/Dark mages.

i've used 19/20% scythes all the time. Because of domino you won't notice any lower # of procs for bleeds (works for stuns too). If you go ithilid, will want as high a proc chance as possible for the drain since it can only proc on main target. And you can switch out for a piece of power/balance armor for +crit.

I spent the last hour trawling through the forums researching about the Legend of Bunko. In the end it sounds like he's just a bad-tempered dude who quit after being unhappy after a patch nefing melees? Is that all? Far less drama than I thought.

Relating to that, is melee viable all the way? Or do people have to switch to mage eventually? Is there any level 300+ pure melee players out there?

Bunko was probably the no.1 misunderstood person on the forum. He was unpopular and intoxicated very often. All my dealings with him were positive though (I'm talking back when I was level 100 and he was 280+ all the way until he was banned). But since he touched a nerve with T, he got banned. I think someone made a joke about that in the chat thread. A lot of high level players are using melee right now. I would say I'm more mage than melee though

I was melee into the 150's 2hd mostly mace with heavy. tried wind at a very low level but never had the mana to do it faster then melee. Got holy spells to go with melee then later dark but I was all soul spells from the time you get them to ~200 when i reset my tree so i could gain elemental proficiency.

I've gone over 200 rounds on BT before I need to use a mana pot. I can't do that as a mage unless i take all day with ET.

Bad luck. I've got two or three pieces today (only one was worth keeping though). Try to do it on IWBTH, if you do it on lower difficulty.

ouch, do you have any auto cast?

since speed is a problem put haste on it, if you have 2 shadow or spark

if you don't then the first thing you should cast is spark

all i cast is AF, x-nerf then holy/dark/holy/dark/holy and everything is dead (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

if its very hard for you then cast weaken on all the monsters. it takes time but it will help alot

starting from yesterday night I have not got a single equipment from it
or its just bad luck

My observations agree with this. It probably is just bad luck, but just recently I've found myself noticing how few equipment drops I've been getting from IWBTH random encounters. I remember when they were revised, it seemed like I was getting at least one drop every two of three random encounters. I thought to myself that it was almost too good. Randomness. Stack double haste (spell + scroll).
After that first 2 turns you are pretty much free to do anything.

Do you have IA? Set it to cast Haste

Start the round with Spark, SP Shield, then Shadow Veil/Protection, X-Nerf

I am not sure whether you are a mage or not, but I am a Heavy Armor and those IWBTH Hourlies cant even two-shot me with their twice-in-a-row magical attacks (unless at least one of them happens to be a critical attack).

how much is your action speed?
I can cast haste,ss,sv,sol just fine before something like juut1lainen hit
then HPpot,af,x-nerf and spam

my action speed = 179

I get hit about 800-1500 per mon
my HP = 6500 so when 5+mon or 3-4 mon + crit => 1TQ
