QUOTE(xdgfsdf @ Apr 9 2012, 12:28) 1.Here is my Stat. I am a two-hand weapon gamer, wearing heavy armor (with block function). 2.I heard if level reach above 90, play as magic speller can train up faster. Is it true? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) 3.PS:Is there any way to train the Supportive/Curative more effective? The spells wear off so soon, so I want to increase their points, too. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) 0. You're a melee so you should get Overchage. 120% would be fine (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif). Spamming 10 posts in the spamhaus will double your EXP in case you haven't known. And playing in IWBTH mode + doing the Random Encounters will level you up fast. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cool2.gif) 1. It'll help if you post your equipments too 2. Yes, since mage clears rounds faster. But you'll also die quicker. 3. Ermm... cast them like crazy is the only way...

Only trick I found for train curative and support proficiency 1. Wear cloth and focus staff with most mana conservative you can find. 2. Grindfest or Crysfest on easy then spamming lowest mana cost of that spell (cure and shield). 3. Then flee away from battle, restore mana then repeat 2. until mana pot runout. PS. I'm not sure that if flee mob battle will cost stamina This method also work on deception (weaken or bewilder) This post has been edited by loszo: Apr 9 2012, 13:09

QUOTE(xdgfsdf @ Apr 9 2012, 18:28) I need some advice in how to make my character level up faster. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif) I'm not sure if you're using the better armors. IMO you'll need to find a balance between block chance and physical mitigation. Have you tried using full plate, or mix it with some shield armor of protection? And melees actually have advantage at lower level vs. mages. You should start to pick some overcharge, or re-allocate some AP into overcharge. Higher overcharge can help increasing the length of spirit stance and the power of shattering strikes. As for training magical profs....you'll need to cast them again and again. The spell's duration depends on the prof., so you'll get more turns on your spells if your prof. increases. You don't need to max it though: something around 75% of your level should be easy to maintain. QUOTE(loszo @ Apr 9 2012, 18:59) PS. I'm not sure that if flee mob battle will cost stamina

Is this true? And by spamhaus you mean the subforum under general chat, right? On another note, I finally got above level 100 and got Spark of Life. Before I tried to keep Absorb up at all times to have a lower chance of getting one shot but now I can just do that with Spark of Life. Is Absorb kinda useless for me or should I keep it? So far I haven't had any trouble with bosses (I've only done the level 50 Ring of Bloods, one level 75 Ring of Blood and the Arenas, so I don't run into them that often). And my third question this time: am I doing okay on leveling speed? I've got from 1 to 102 in a couple of hours less than a week, but only yesterday I found out that you spend way less stamina if your stamina count is below 80 (I always kept it above 80 beforehand) so I think I've done it a lot slower than it should've been. What do you guys think? This post has been edited by blueeyedcolossus: Apr 9 2012, 13:41

>80 stamina is +50% exp IIRC. And yes, the spamming exp is still here. Absorb isn't very useful, as it only has a 75% chance. Personally I don't use it or need it. Levelling is very easy now. Just do the hourlies on as high a difficulty as you can. Bring a few spirit pots if you need to. You'll level up very, very fast.

QUOTE(MidNightPass @ Apr 8 2012, 17:01) A question about the ability tree, what should I get next?
I am a melee player and I have maxed the followings:
1. EXP, HP, MP, SP and OC. 2. Poison, weaken and nerf. 3. Protection, haste, SV, heartseeker and spirit shield. 4. Cure I, regen I and regen II. 5. All the aura, item, scroll, infusion slots and x-item/attack/magic.
I wonder if spark is a good option?
I am a light melee using ethereal mace. The choice seems to be spark or magnet?

I want to know how to find a balance between block chance and physical mitigation? I am usually being kill one hit in ROB, if I can't block the boss attack... If I reset all my AP and change my battle style, what would be the best way to level up my character at my recent stage? I want to train it faster. I mean I see others level up 1X~2X, while I spend an afternoon only level up 5~6... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) PS:Are my prof. low comparing to my level? Everyday. The effect lasts for 24 hours or till the end of the day, can't remember exactly.

Do I need to focus more on prof. to make my spell become more effective? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) It will be difficult for you to avoid being killed by bosses' skills and spirit attacks if you don't have spark (lv. 100 spell, avoid death once for 50% base SP) or silence (Lv. 110 spell, shut down bosses' skills and spirit attacks). You should compare your survival chance between using shield/plate/mix by playing through usual arenas. Everyone has their own style, so block may sometimes work better, while mitigation works better in other cases. Training prof. will surely slow down your leveling process, but it will make you more powerful in your current level, so you have to decide whether to level up faster or slower. It's difficult to state a good prof. level, but if the prof. gets pass 75% of your current level, it will start to become more difficult to grind. And you don't always need to level up that fast. Leveling too fast usually means you're going to get more problem later, like unfinished trainings/insufficient prof./less powerful equips. QUOTE(blueeyedcolossus @ Apr 9 2012, 22:16) How does the Spamhaus exp bonus work? Do I have to do 10 posts there every day? Or only once? Or more often?
It give a 100% EXP bonus in the EXP formula, but it doesn't mean your current EXP will increase by 100% with that bonus. You'll need 10 posts to get a 24 hour bonus, which takes 1 hour to activate. And it isn't affected by dawn of a new day. QUOTE(MidNightPass @ Apr 9 2012, 21:24) I am a light melee using ethereal mace.

I will also pick spark; supportive spells are usually easier to merge into your strategies. Try to use spark in different situations to see if you feel comfortable with it. This post has been edited by varst: Apr 9 2012, 16:39

Spark and Silence, both will save your from being one-shoted by the Boss. At least get Spark as soon as you are level 100 2. You are using two-handed weapon, which is most inefficient killing method in RoB; train up DW or even One-Hand, the weapon skills can greatly help in RoB If you want to level faster, use hourlies at highest difficulty you can complete + forum post exp bonus, this is the most exp efficient method. Also train in Adept Learner. It is tough to see equilibrium between block chance and physical mitigation, but you should start with Shield Armors of Barrier/of Protection and switch between them. For a newbie Heavy Armor user, the basic goal is at least attain 40% mitigation and 25% block with Shield Armors or One-Hand w/Shield. You are leveling too fast, thus your prof is too low to be killing efficiently. To avert this problem, buy a Crude Quality weapon, set difficulty to IWBTH and go to the IW, you can grind proficiencies that way (Crude IW monsters hit like crap, IWBTH will make them last much longer, but they still do hit like crap). Just flee when you reach the last round so you can grind again immediately) This post has been edited by Coma: Apr 9 2012, 16:52

The choice seems to be spark or magnet? If you plan on debuffing the Dragons, get MagNet. Their resistance to spells is seriously annoying.

Just tried, I can hit the monster much in IWBTH in IW (level 7X)...when I wear cloth and use staff to train. it hit me one hit and lost half of my HP... But in IWBTH, I still only receive very low rate in prof. (~0.03 per spell) Anyway to gain more prof. ? As you see, I only have ~4X prof. in Supportive/Curative...(while Lv 98, I didn't use spell much in the past...) I need a way to increase its rate more effectively. Thx for the help. IWBTH IW with Crude is pretty much the fast way to train melee (you dont want to kill those monsters too fast before they can hit you for heavy/light armor proficiency) But if you only want to train Supportive/Curative, just enter the Easy Difficulty with Focus Staff and keep up both Protection and Regen. Your goal here is to let monster hit you for armor prof while spamming spells for Supportive/Curative, killing is not your top priority. Prof gain rate is slow, between 0.01 and 0.03, you could train Assimilator to increase "slightly" the gain rate but that is one of the most cost-ineffective ways to spend credit. The only way to get more prof is to keep spamming actions more often. Another method is to cast Protection and Regen while killing monsters in Arena/Hourlies/Grind, recast whenever the buffs fall off. May take few days to get them up to 80% of your level

You're mixing up the two methods. Basically IWBTH IW grinding is mainly used for grinding weapon/heavy armor profs. The heavy armor is used to lower the damage received, and with the monster's high HP you can hit far more rounds before they get killed. If you want to train supportive/curative/depreciating prof, instead wear cloth armors and tune the difficulty to easy. Bring MP potions and start casting those spells. Don't kill anything so you can keep yourself at the first round. For spell choice: depreciating -> weaken curative -> cure 1 supporitve -> protection, or those spike spells later Currently I haven't seen any viable method to train light/cloth prof. It seems you have to play more rounds on lower difficulty. And prof. can only be gained at the rate of 0.01, 0.02 or 0.03 each time. That's why you'll need tons of casts/attacks to increase your prof.

Or you can be like me and not worry about training proficiencies (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cool2.gif) EDIT - also it seems like someone took the advice of posting in spamhaus and posted 10 times in a row in the same thread with just dashes.
