When is the best time to buff your character?
Is it near the end of a round, when there's only one monster left(less risk to you) but that could cause major damage cuz he's dead?
Or at the beginning of a round where all enemies are full health, since they seem to do a lot less damage(if any) before I attack them?

And Generally, is it better to use "Average Power Armor" or "Superior shield armor"? Are the benefits from being power armor worth the relative loss in quality?

I got that just now in the arena. What is that? I've never heard of it before

0.6.6.1:

- Riddlemasters are now somewhat more common.

- The time allotment now starts at 99 and is reduced gradually to 50 at level 100.

- Solving a riddlemaster with more than 30 seconds left on the clock now also heals you equivalent to a combined health and mana gem.

@putadshere - When its most efficient. Monsters do reduced damage when above 75% hp and do increased damage when below 25% hp. Work around that. You should definitely have your buffs up when your facing a large group.

If your in a higher difficulty and you are like in the second to last round in an arena and there is only one monster left. use sleep and buff and use the defend to tick the buffs like pots until your ready to kill the last monster and enter the last round fully ready with everything.

Not too sure what you mean by that? I thought defend only gives you a minor benefit on the next turn?

That would imply spending my credits in consumables. And I don't like much doing it.

Any more opinions on the matter?

I've been doing IW-BT with both power and shade. They both do a good job, for for shade I've been using what gives me the most damage and then the best evade. I also prefer bleed vs stun

HP/MP/SP pots refills you over a few turns. Use defend to spend a turn so that the pot can be fully used before you kill the monster

Example:
Round 49/50
use Sleep to put last monster to sleep.
use a godly mana pot (refills you for 5 turns)
use Defend to burn a turn (you used on turn of the godly mana pot)
repeat Defend until godly mana pot is fully used.
Cast any other buffs like Haste, SV, etc.
kill monster
Enter last round.

Clear now?

Depend your armor type:
For mages, start the round with Shadow Veil and Regen.
For melees, kill all but one monster, then use Spirit Stance to buff with Protection and Regen.

That is, assuming you are at normal difficulty. For IWBTH, start with Haste, then Protection/Shadow Veil, Spark of Life.

Depend on the stat, you should post your armor link here for us to decide which is better. Generally, if you can get more stat improvement wearing one armor than the other, use it.

My rule of thumb: If survival isnt the main concern, then go for Power; otherwise, Shield.

So... Going to initiate a mass trophy dump after my auction is over, but I'm not to sure split up what to use them for.

1-Hand Weapons: Can potentially get upgrades to my pretty crappy eth weapons. Any possible leftover eths could be sold.
2-Hand Weapons: Eth Mace or eth Scythe would be an awesome thing to get. Not sure how likely it would be for me to get them though.
Staves: Eh, nope.
Shields: Lol-no.
Cloth: Good phases are always a good thing to sell, but given their rarity, I'd probably get 99% Cotton/Gossamer, 0.99% Owl/Fox Phase and 0.01% EDB Phase. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) I'll pass.
Light: Potential to upgrade my current Shade set-up, but Light Armor doesn't seem to popular these days.
Heavy: They seem to be popular these days... but I'm cautious in shrining a couple hundred trophies for them. Not sure how much they reliably sell for.

I'm probably going to do spread my Boss Trophies evenly between 1H, 2H, Heavy and Light, and my Schoolgirl Trophies between 2H and Light.

Not sure what to spend my Appendages on though... Should I go all 1H and hope for a magnificent/legendary eth? Or maybe some equally good light armor? Since I'm not a 2H user, spending them on 2H is too big a gamble IMO. Thoughts? (Kind of an odd thing to ask, I know.)

Go with 2-handers, they are popular among lvl200+ players. If you got a mace/scythe with good base stats, you will get more than enough money to buy another eth 1-hander, even more if you got an eth.

Look at the list of equipment that you could get from shrining: 1-hander has 6 weapon types, but only Rapier and Club can sell well, Axe sells only if it got slaughter; 2-hander has 4 weapon types, with Mace and Scythe the most popular choice.

Light armor aint ideal because the only both Shade of Shadow-dancer/Fleet and Kevlar of Protection sells, other suffixes suck hard. Clothes aint worth the risk because the only good cloth is Phase.

If you aint that much risk taker, then safer bet is Heavy Armor. Thank to the Featherweight (which apparently many lvl 300+ players can afford), inference/burden isnt as much as issue now.

You probably want to shrine the Tenbora's box at lvl 302, you can still get an item a level or 2 below your current.

Thought it was up to 5 levels below my current? And yeah, don't know why I forgot that since that was the whole reason I'm dumping the trophies now rather than at 250. Whoops.

230 Dalek's voiceboxes? (and tons of others...

How so many? You're only around 4 times my level, but you've got over 50 times as many as I've gotten. Is there a trick I'm missing?

The final round of the various level 100+ arenas have a guaranteed Dalek/mithra/manbearpig/bunny and later more than one.

- Later arenas have bosses and schoolgirls, which can give you trophies. (So you're no longer limited to Ring of Blood or the rare Boss/Schoolgirl in non-arena fights)
- It takes a hell of a long time to level up later on (though much less time since the new Dawn of the Day changes). I went through Level 1-100 in probably a month or two. Keep your trophies and it'll rack up quick.
- I'd probably have twice as many if I immediately started hoarding trophies at Level 100. I only started probably around Level 150-175.

As for loot quality of Tenbora's Box, no clue. I would assume it's greater than Noodly Appendage and Platinum Ticket though.
