QUOTE(Trolljain @ Mar 27 2012, 17:51) How do you level your monster in the monster lab?
Wiki should have information you need.

QUOTE((Cheater) Tiap @ Mar 27 2012, 11:32) "Put on your robe and Heimdall hat" is also a well-proven strategy to defeat FSM quickly. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/duck.gif) now that u mention this... i'd like to know if heimdall would affect holy damage from melee hits using infusions, not that i have a set to test it with, my guess is no but maybe someone can tell me, or test this.

No it won't. Magical damage should be separate from physical damage AFAIK

The MDB is kinda on par with the ebony counterpart, good ET also. Too bad it lacks the EDB ebony provides. It can be extremely useful for low-level players though. Low burden is also a plus. But I don't think it's gonna sell for more than 10-15k.

QUOTE(varst @ Mar 27 2012, 12:00) Wiki should have information you need. BTW, the "Naming & Deleting" section is somewhat lacking. There's no info on what happens when you actually go and delete a monster. IIRC you don't get your chaos tokens back, but what about crystals?

Well....what can happen can you delete something? The worst case is that your monsters' are resurrected and given to others (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) And I don't think you're going to get your crystals back.

QUOTE I don't see why one would delete his own monster Deleting all those fucking Giants would certainly make a lot of peoples life easier, including the monster's owner. Wouldn't that is a good enough reason? (IMG:[ bbs.pramool.com] http://bbs.pramool.com/webboard/pic/137.gif) Well, even if you wanted to, you can't, anyway (for the monster that actually matter i.e. PL 100+) ... And this mindset fits perfectly with Tenb paradoxical plan of making peoples life a misery while making them happier at the same time! QUOTE(etothex @ Mar 27 2012, 04:07) My heavy prof is higher than my light prof 110 vs 76, but i spent enough time and credits scouring for my gear so i can offer an opinion.

no, i grind w/o much exp bonuses. Trying to get my dw to 100, and eventually 1h too, and playing more in normal stamina so stuff takes longer to kill.

I need to know, because it seems the majority of the high level "experts" are mages.
How does magic really stack up against melee, especially when doing the hardest encounters? I've read here about melee having trouble against god class mobs and aren't as proficient in leveling.
Can anyone clarify this? There just aren't as many high level melee types and tips I can find, especially on the wiki. This scares me in the sense of balance between the archetypes (I wish there was an archer class).

I wouldn't say most of the high-level players are mages. In reality, we have the ability to change into mage/melee. Melees can be better doing the more difficult encounters at lower level, while mages can clear things faster. The difference, however, becomes smaller when you progress in levels. Melees are actually better/easier against gods. They're also easier to power-level. Why there is insufficient information in wiki? Well, one of the writer is a melee, but he has tons of other things to do. The other writer is a cheap-ass mage who is working on some other wiki things. That's why there's insufficient information. And Ten mentioned that we might soon have archery, once range is made relevant ^.^
Also, once again I have some questions about maging. What should the spell/attack order in battle be? It can't be blasty blasty non-stop, that would burn mana too quick, even for teir 2/1 spells. And mixing in some magic missile + staff hits for et greatly increases the amount of time it takes to clear a round, to the point where it's much slower than melee. And this is on normal difficulty, while I usually play on nightmare with melee now. I think I have a workable set of mage items too (mostly elementalist gossamer and a exquisite redwood destruction staff). Even if they aren't good, I shouldn't have struggled so much with mage to the point of clearing only a dozen rounds on normal.

Tenboro's "soon" is really relative.

You're using the correct strategy, but you may be using the incorrect equips. Is that staff with destruction suffix? What's the EDB of the staff? Besides, do you have arcane focus with you? And how about your armors? Mages would start changing to EDB phase at lv.130. Mages depends on equips even more than melees do. Both weapons and armors are important offensively.
