QUOTE(varst @ Mar 20 2012, 02:32) A generic one is sometimes better than a suited one. I expect people to make better choices after they've more experience in HV. Most of the people are not so hardcore; they only have some leisure time to spend on HV, so giving too detailed information may scare them off (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) (Just sneak in more information so they'll eventually become addicted) (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) Funny enough, I agree with you. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) ... But it's not my kind of thing to give a sort of general advice; I'll just let you do it... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) At any rate. Melee choice of gear are highly dependent on how one play the game and preference. Without any info on this at all, it's impossible to actually advise something without turning it into just another blanket description of stuff... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif)

So guys, I am a mace user I've just hit 200 and noticed that the higher level giants have come out to play (thanks, guys, really) and I'm wondering if it's a necessity to move to an ethereal mace at this point. If not, then by what level should I definitely have one? Of course, no one is selling a decent one so that might a bit of a problem. EDIT: I guess the question actually is whether even a crappy ethereal mace would perform better than this at my level. Also, while I'm at it, has any melee user been able to clear Dance With Dragons on Battletoads/IWBTH yet or should I just convert to magic before it's too late? QUOTE(Nguoivohinh @ Mar 19 2012, 13:10) Arrgh... why was I so dumb... it's just as easy as that. This "art" is so intricate and complex that I wasn't able to think straight. So it's even more boring than I think (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) If you don't cast MM to ET then which spell do you use then? I very rarely need to ET a monster to regain all my mana. I use ET to cut the cost of caster spells each round. I may cast Banish while I have full mana and change to Purge when I have less while still replacing the same amount of mana with ET. Lets say you get 50 mana/turn with ET. using MM you get all that but do low damage using a tier 1 spell costs 21 mana does ok damage and you still gain mana using a tier 2 spell costs 47 mana does good damage and is a free cast using a tier 3 spell costs 67 mana does shit damage and the cost is cut to 14 mana so depending on what spell you cast you still do damage to the monster while replacing your mana. Using a 3turn, high %ET staff helps if you do that.

Only to know, how much are the following Exquisite Kevlar if they exists? (I'll look for it in an near future, one at a time): *Absorption and Mitigation are physical
Helmet: -Base Absorption >= 1.8 -Base Mitigation >= 8.8 -Base Burden <= 3.2 -Base Interference <= 5.6
Breastplate: -Base Absorption >= 2.1 -Base Mitigation >= 10.8 -Base Burden <= 3.2 -Base Interference <= 6.6
Gauntlets: -Base Absorption >= 1.55 -Base Mitigation >= 8 -Base Burden <= 2.75 -Base Interference <= 4.8
I think it would be about 400-500k each piece. I'm right or I'm wrong?
Thanks. ^^

He want to buy it? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) I have a helm that fits his description perfectly. If he willing to pay that amount, I'll sell...

I just used up all the trophies I saved up (about 30) and got nothing useful at all. I kept a bunch of random maces and clubs because I heard somewhere that when equipment drops, it checks what type of equipment you have in your inventory and raises the chance of the type of equipment you have most of.
I wonder if I'll ever get to see another Ethereal drop again. Also, I noticed something. Are Scythes more rare than Maces? Someone gave me a free scythe and it would sell for 2k+ at Bazaar, way more than the other 2Hs,not to mention that the 30 trophies I used up on 2H weapons didn't generate a single Scythe.

Yes. One thing I find it weird is the bazaar price of Estoc ... Though not as much as Scythe and Katana, its still relatively expensive even though it's pretty common. Oh, so it wasn't true? Guess I can send off some more stuff to the Bazaar... although I'll keep it for now, just in case I need a weak weapon to grind proficiency.
Also, I raised my spell power a bit and tried going into Arena with some Phase Robes I got. I got raped. How do mages last for so long in there?

until this last patch they killed everything with a spell that costs to much mana and does too little damage.

spark always helps. Arcane focus to make sure you hit more often for more damage. Invest some points in sp because you will trigger spark pretty often on higher difficulties. (on normal, its more like you can kill most on the first hit if not all. And if not all, your evade is supposed to be good enough to dodge a hit or more).

Doesn't Spark just cut your Spirit in half? I don't see how investing in SP is going to help with that.

QUOTE Any attack that would normally kill you leaves you alive with a small percentage of HP. When triggered, the buff is removed, and 50% of the player's base SP is consumed. If the player does not have enough SP remaining the trigger will fail and the player will die. With all 54 Spirit Tanks you can take 5 of them without needing spirit potions.

Base SP. If you have enough SP tanks that won't be a problem when you enter the battles. Edit: Am I a ninja ? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) This post has been edited by varst: Mar 20 2012, 10:13

Man, I just got 2 Artifacts in one Arena. I'm so glad I decided to try and do some more Arenas. Traded them in and got a boost in Strength and Intelligence. Life is good. Also, I traded in a Trophy for a Fine Mace of the Ox with maxed out stun. How much would that be worth? Seems like a shame to just Bazaar it. Fine Mace of the OxThere's the link so you guys can help me by appraising it.

If a mace is not ethereal, slaughter, illithid, or a combination of the two, it isn't likely to be worth spit
