QUOTE(n125 @ Mar 10 2012, 12:10) Why would you not want to upgrade Dexterity? It factors into the damage of skills belonging to non-Elementals.
Well I thought that since the avion special attack is piercing, it counts as physical attack. And yeah, I seem to have trouble loading the previous page too. This post has been edited by Radkat: Mar 10 2012, 13:22

QUOTE(Nguoivohinh @ Mar 10 2012, 16:34) I'm still looking for a Mage set and with my financial state right now, it's quite hard to get one! (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Also, unless someone starts selling Godly mana pots, I think I'll stop being a Mage for while. Maybe that's also a good way to save up some pots. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) you don't always need godly, just mix mana pots in your battle items accordingly to your current avail pots.

At what level can a melee fighter such as myself defeat FSM on IWBTH? What should I bring to the battle besides the obvious (infusion of divinity, godly mana pots, a couple of spirit pots)? Should I use some special strategy or just wack away like always? Since I cleared FSM on normal, when it became available, I have only gotten 13 blood tokens. I read about people battling FSM or other RoB monsters almost everyday. Am I just unlucky with the drops or is this normal?

To get a lot of blood tokes you need to clear a lot of rounds. There are about 1600 rounds in all of the arenas and most tokens come from clear bonuses. You can pick more up in IW, GF, CF too but you just need to clear a lot of rounds.

you should be able to clear it shouldn't be too hard. i think at level 190 would make it easier with SS. here is my FSM gear: mh | shield | head | body | hands | legs | feetdidn't quite have 100 1H proficiency yet, would have been easier. brought and used some scrolls of absorb, used 12 sup mana potions. silence + poison and attack till he reaches the 75% mark (or whenever he loses that damage nerf). SoL + weaken or scroll or absorb+weaken+bewilder (scroll at about 90% of his spirit and bewilder him after u use the scoll) onwards. using haste or the scroll can make it easier, he double taps me often every 5-6 rounds maybe. Physical Defense 31 points absorbed 42.3 % mitigation Avoidance 8.2 % evade 33.4 % block 8.6 % parry 42.9 % resist Dark 65.7 % e: channeling should be heartseeker > regen 2 > haste. i always just use regen + cures and wait for channeling to proc. pay attention to how hard he hits you with crits and make sure you can survive two hits (one if u use haste). you can do it once you max out heartseeker. and maxed out pack rat. It just takes a while to whittle down FSM on IWBTH.

I'm conflicted right now between armor for my melee set. Which armor set suits me best in fighting bosses like the Gods and (much later) the Trio Goddesses? Should I invest in Shade or Power Armor? This is for a 2H katana or dual wield rapier/dagger style. Once get enough prof I'll switch to Niten.

I have some questions concerning FSM.
I'm currently a Freyr Mage without Heimdall equips (too expensive). Can i still do FSM (on normal) if i spam Smite with 0% Holy Damage Bonus?
Thinking of using this strategy: Haste>Swiftness>SoL>Weaken>Bewilder>AF>Divinity Infusion>Spam Smite>Repeat
Did i miss something? :3

You should probably try at Level 190 with Spirit Shield then.

you can get heaven-sent for cheap if normal fsm is your only reason to raise a bit damage and a bit regen point. but it's not a must. put poison on FSM first before casting SoL (slows monster mana/spirit regen rate by half). Also don't use smite, use maxed banish instead (dealt more damage, saves you lot of turns). This post has been edited by aiwotorimodose: Mar 11 2012, 04:36

Thanks, just tested it seems like AoE does almost double as much dmg on a single target than a single target spell. Kinda lame imo.
Btw is it correct to say:To double my Holy damage: 1)I need 200 Divine Proficiency or 2)I need 100 Holy Damage

probably your holy above 100 to do some decent damage with a gossomer heaven sent set.
your base holy + gossomer/phase should be in the 200 Effective prof range or your going to take forver to kill it on normal.

AOEs do 2x damage on primary target, 1x splash on the rest, so yes, using it on single target = more damage.

66% Cold EDB and 20% elec EDB and 143 elemental prof + 23% evade
VS
~6% all EDBs and 252 elemental prof + 12% evade.
Which set would be a better choice? As I see it, the increase in elemental prof will increase my damage output on non-cold and non-elect spells by about 32%. However, I will lose ~34% damage on cold spells. Elect spells will gain about 12%.
On top of all this, I lose a whooping 11% evade.
Should I stay with my phase set (option 1), or go back to my old gossamer of elementalist set (option 2)?

Pretty much based on what strategy you are using. If you circle all 4 elements, then the second set seems more effective. But if you just cast Cold spells and followup by an elec spell to clean up, go with the first one. // But why don't you have wind as your second EDB bonus? It can explode cold's proc for some more damage. Elec and cold doesn't make much sense IMO

Not sure if I would ever choose option 2. The problem is when you're going to use 4-element rotation. If you're going to use that on harder settings, you're going to lose more hp due to evade loss. That may offset your increased damage output. If you're playing on easier settings, you don't need 4-elements to kill everything. That's why I think phases are still much better than gossamers at medium to high levels.

Arcane Meditation (x5) - The target attains a higher level of attunement with the arcane forces, increasing magic damage, accuracy, and crit chance. Additional points increase the duration and power of the spell. (Supportive - Self-Targeted)
So is it good only for mages ? or is it good for power tanks 2 ? for warriors?

muramasa:
max weaken (if you do IWBTH hourlies), max poison and silence when you can for RoB. regen and regen 2 when u get it, max heartseeker when u get it. max Spark of life. i dont really use haste or shadow veil unless i have extra mp or in IWBTH hourlies i will use haste. get protection if u are a heavy melee.
DON'T GET ANY OFFENSIVE SPELLS, it will be a waste of ability points.
Stoiki:
Arcane meditation is only good for mage... its not worth the mp to cast for a melee
