Elec was there to trigger the explosion (extra wind damage that benefits from EDB bonuses). Wait till you get your dark spell then. You really need good gossamers with high proc or EDB phases in order to play holy/dark, since it will consume more mana than elemental spells (lack of tier 1 spells surely hurts).
Soul spells...
Soul harvest are for SP regen without much offensive capability, and you need at least 2-3 turns for soul burst to reach its max damage output. (Soul fire -> soul burst). You may as well be dead against 10 monsters.
Soul burst is quite efficient against bosses/legends/trio though.
