Lolwut? The staff in your sig definitely has EDB.

Look at the date it was last updated. But I guess I should fix that >_>. check my sig in a couple of minutes after this post.

Edit: Its fixed now. Even gave thanks to the person who gave it to me. I wish it had the edb or higher mdb but no burden and mana conservation is awesome. (now if it were a superior ethereal ebony/katalox of focus, thats damn near perfect).

IMO Redwoods are only good for their high ET chance. Besides, why must it be an ethereal staff? You don't really lose that much evade, do you?

Assuming a staff with 9 burden, that's only 4/3 * 9 = 12% off your evade. And it's a multiplicative reduction, so realistically you'll lose around 3% tops.

Also, you're trading a *lot* of MDB for negligible mana savings. A good destruct staff can easily have 2x your MDB. Considering you only save 25% of your mana per cast, while taking 2x the number of casts to kill mobs, I don't think it's that good of a trade at all.

I'm still on the side of MDB, and overall I think I'm gonna stick to maging for a little while more. Tried dual clubs with high stun as ChosenUno suggested and worked quite well with bosses (RL, hard FSM), but it's just.... long ass boring (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) . I love the feeling of casting my AoE and see them fall (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

Yea I don't care for redwoods either. Like I said, ebony or katalox would be best. My previous one was ebony of destruction. take a look

This one I am just testing out and so far, I've been doing pretty well with it. Btw, while the staff has more than double mdb scaled to my level, I am not losing out on half the damage. I still one shot every third round or so (averaging anyway) on normal for the arenas. That feels about the same as with the previous staff. Oh right, about the half the damage, that adds to your magical damage output. Its not the only factor for it so... don't really know where I'm going with this. oh yea, my statistics show that my magical base damage is currently around 500. With the other staff, I was getting around 600. 1/6th isn't a very nice number but its definetly smaller than 1/4th.

The no burden thing is more just for me. Its aesthetically pleasing to see that.

I guess if redwoods are good for ether thefting, its probably good for me. I have been trying to ether theft more, not really for the mana but for the staff prof. But the mana is more incentive to keep magic missiling and whacking the critters in the head.

One more thing, mana conservation is pretty nice when I seem to be casting more supportive spells than offensive spells. Plus, the supportive spells generally cost more anyway. Once I get an IA or 2, I'm pretty sure that argument will be useless though.

quick edit: almost forgot that its like double the crit or something.

Well, meleeing is much more relaxing IMO, no *HOLY SHIT* moments. It allows you to play in a more brainless fashion XD.

Btw, are you using eth clubs? Should go a little bit faster with DW eths.

I always think the INT stat refers to how much effort you put into HV (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Melees have a hard time too >.>. There's upgrading your equipment, earning money and casting buffs and healing once in a while before you die.

I've managed to pick up a full Kelvar set from doing Arena and hourlies and am using it in place of Shade, it helps out quite a bit with surival although for large mobs, I usually go into Heavy Armor + Scythe mode unless it's in IWBTH, then I DW and go Spirit Stance to kill them off as quickly as possible. Pretty soon, maging will also be another option for me to play with.

Used 1 gaia and didn't see much improvement so I skipped the rest (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

And the result:
239 10 You gain 50072 Credits!
239 9 You gain 12079 EXP!
239 8 Your HP and MP have been fully restored!
239 7 Arena Token Bonus! [Chaos Token] <~ why not blood token noooo
239 6 Arena Clear Bonus! [Fine Mace of the Ox]
239 5 Real Life dropped [Black T-Shirt]
239 4 You are Victorious!

About 5 mins I think, not too bad but surely the most long ass boring fight I've had (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Question:
I am going to attempt Real Life soon, however, he has no weakness, which infusion should i use? And this is my only Eth weapon, should i choose this above my 4t stun mace? Longsword

Also, just curious, what are my chances at FSM compared to RL?

void seems to be the better choice against RL, even better than gaia infusion. Use silence, beware of your HP, and that should be quite easy.

FSM has much more HP, though I don't think melees have any difficulty against FSM with holy infusions and silence.

You can just remove the phrase holy infusions and it makes no difference LOL.

Just that the battles will be much, much longer.

I prefer DW clubs or club + shield. Fun times LOL

Just curious: If I do IWBTH IW on crude equip, the mobs will be much weaker and less EXP bonus, but equipment drops (if any) will still have the quality modifier of IWBTH right? And the same to other kinds of drops?

As a melee, are the spells "Soul Reaper" & "Soul Harvest" worth investing in?

I read from the wiki that it helps to recover some spirit points when "Ripened Soul" is proc.

I do heal more often but thats probably because I play more often on iwbth. I figure no matter what you have to heal more often there anyway.

Luck does play a role in it. But if I get channeling no luck needed, they all die. (atleast on normal anyway). Just out of curiousity, what made you want to be a niflheim user? If heimdall and fenrir were easier to get, thats what I would be. But until then, I figure elec is good for those 2 mechs and giants that everyone always creats and fire is good for the explosions.

yup it can proc rippened soul that can recover sp when you hit them (one time only per proc). use soul harvest instead soul reaper, you just need to put 1 ap on it anyway.
