QUOTE(derpymal @ Feb 20 2012, 08:09) Not necessarily. Some people buy junk because 1) they don't know any better, and/or 2) because its an auction.
Or because that "junk" is still better than what they've got.

I have one question about weapon proficiency. Is this proficiency attribute capped at some level? As for two hand weapon, the rate of Domino effect increases about 1% as the proficiency increase 10. What is the exact formula?

http://ehwiki.org/wiki/ProficienciesQUOTE Base proficiencies are capped at a player's current level. However, bonus proficiency points on equipment allow players to exceed their cap.
http://ehwiki.org/wiki/Fighting_StylesQUOTE Domino Strike chance = 40 + (0.04 * STR + 0.02 * DEX) * (1 + 2H / 200)

The highest I have is 20.86, which is high, though I don't know if it's the highest. The thought of putting 20 Isaac into it does amused me. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Too bad the bleed on it sucks... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) This post has been edited by buktore: Feb 20 2012, 12:06

Well, I finally reached level 75. One more Blood Token and I can challenge the schoolgirls. Will I be able to go in with no preparations like I did with Dalek and the other bosses or are the Schoolgirls way harder?

Have a way to survive 1-hit KO attack. That's about it. ... QUOTE(Hoheneim @ Feb 20 2012, 14:49) Or because that "junk" is still better than what they've got.
But sometime people don't buy the same gear with better stats that were on sale in the next shop, or indeed even right there next to the gear he just bought... I bet that's the people he was talking about. This post has been edited by buktore: Feb 20 2012, 12:08

Schoolgirls are quite a bit harder. Prepare some scrolls of life as buktore said, you may easily get 1-hit KOed.

I see what you both mean, but it's far too easy to lose track of the stuff you're looking for in a chaotic forum like WTS. Anomtai put in his signature a nice example of this... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Yeah, I know what you mean. I went to the WTS forum and finally found a nice Ethereal Rapier for sale at 20k, but someone already bought it >.<

Hello Experts! My goal is to be a high level "Niten Ichiryu" user. I looking for all the advice you can give me about how to achieve that faster. Here comes pictures of my character, abilities and training screen. My current Equipment is shown in my signature. I know I need 2H proficiency so I have been thinking about switching fighting styles from DW. Is that a good idea at this point? Should I rearrange my ability three or primary stats for better effect? I went for kevlar armor as is apparent below. Was that a good choice or should I switch to Shade, Power or something else? I'm currently training Adept Learner up to level 153. What should I train after that if anything? Any other advice is welcome. Thank you in advance!

My goal is to be a high level "Niten Ichiryu" user.- Ah... Another poor soul who falls victim to the mysticism of the Orient. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) ... I ditch Niten at level 220 ... Let's see how long you'll last. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I know I need 2H proficiency so I have been thinking about switching fighting styles from DW. Is that a good idea at this point?- Yes. Should I rearrange my ability three or primary stats for better effect?- Reset your ability and put the 5 AP points you invested in Arcane Focus into something else. For stats redistribution, it depends on your need. Don't worry to try it out though— no kitten will be harm in the process, unlike whenever you fap... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) I went for kevlar armor as is apparent below. Was that a good choice or should I switch to Shade, Power or something else?- You might want to try Heavy if you can get a decent set and have patient to train the prof, but don't sweat over it. Your current armor are okay. I'm currently training Adept Learner up to level 153. What should I train after that if anything?- Archaeologist. Any other advice is welcome.- Save your screenshot as PNG. It make internet a better place. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) This post has been edited by buktore: Feb 20 2012, 22:54

I've finally gotten a new Shade equip to drop, and it's an Arcanist one, so now I'm finally confronted with a choice: Old Fleet or New Arcanist? My gut tells me that the 0 Burden from the Arcanist will offset the Evade lost from ditching Fleet, and that I'll save some amount of MP from the lowered Interference, but I never like having a decrease to my Attribute Bonuses...

What's your evade chance with each piece? How about your Mana Cost?
If the drops/increases are negligible I'd probably go with the higher level fleet gear, but neither one would be really bad at that point.

I've done something that, for some reason, I never bothered to think of until now: compare my stats while equipped with equipment piece. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) Arcanist clearly won. +13.2 Base Damage, +0.8% Magical Hit Chance, -1.9% Mana Cost, +0.7% Evade (after redistributing my stats, +0.8%). Only slight negatives are in the Physical/Magical Defenses. EDIT: Huh, switching from Old Fleet Boots to Old Shadowdancer Boots is also somewhat of an improvement. -3.1 Base Damage, +0.9% Physical Crit, -0.9% Mana Cost and no drop to Evade thanks to the 0 Burden of the Shadowdancer. Higher attribute bonuses allowed me to allocate the extra DEX and AGI to WIS and INT for some extra MP as well. This post has been edited by HaliZorat: Feb 21 2012, 01:31

Well, I finally got another artifact drop after... 70 levels. >.>
Now, to sell or to give to snowflake. Looking at the Shrine thread, Snowflake has a tendency to give crystals a lot and there's no way I'm getting the Crystal Hath Perk (or any Hath Perk, for that matter) anytime soon.

If there actually is a bias towards giving out crystals (as opposed to people just being unhappy about their gift and thus reporting it in the thread, which would increase the apparent rate of crystals) I don't think it's giant. I never sell any of my artifacts since I like the chance to get hath, AP, or attribute points.
