Everyone starts playing EOD with ETing every round (or every few rounds), so that's not something so abnormal.

Avoid buying gear at bazaar, buy price is 10x of sell price. Browse this forum instead to buy gear from players. First arena clear rewards can afford you few nice pieces - just remember very high level items slow you down.

Question: Out of all the two hand weapon types, prefix and suffix being the same, which one does the most damage? I always thought Katana's did the most dmg but i just went to check an estoc vs a katana (4 lvl difference) and they were lvl318 and lvl314 respectively and the estoc did 200 damage more.
So, which 2h does the MOST dmg without upgrades and such?

Strictly speaking of base damage (so no procs, overall efficiency etc), should be Scythes, with a slight edge over Katanas, followed by Maces and Estocs. Check here.

As for the weapons you compared, you need to know their base damage values - the equipment level will only tell you so much.
Use [www.starfleetplatoon.com] this instead, just paste everything from you weapon stats window there.
There should also be a nice plugin which does the same, iirc someone linked it in the HV Stat thread.

So if i want to build a 2h character that maxes damage per swing (to maximise domino strikes) should i aim for for a Scythe of Slaughter?

The way im understanding your explaination of item is that each item is slightly different DEPENDING on the base stats of the weapon when rolled? So each item is slightly different but Scythes have the highest weapon range?

And the next question is, it seems as I scale..weapons of +stats will become better then weapons of slaughter/balance etc...is this the case?

I got a magnificent shield armor as a clear bonus from a hard legendary arena once. Probably just a freak occurence though. On the upside, hard only takes an extra ~3 pots (no ET-ing unless I stuff up).

Well it's either Scythe or a Mace I guess.

IIRC top melee players said that Scythe does kill faster, but at your level I'd still go with Mace and get the survivability the Stun proc provides.

Exactly, and even more than 'slightly' at times, I'd add.

You can find two weapons of the same level and suffixes, but one with like +100 damage. That's because its base damage is way higher than the other weapon's - whose other stats will then supposedly make up for that.

Not sure I get it... You mean that +Stat suffixes (Ox, Raccoon, Cheetah etc) will be better than Slaughter, Balance ones?

If that's the case, it shouldn't be like that, every stat (proc percentage aside) will go up when an item gets a lwvel.

Katana: Good WD, AAB, ACB, bleed and you can use Wakizashi
Maces: Great WD, shit AAB, stun
Scythe: Great WD, shit AAB great bleed
Estoc: Good WD, shit AAB but you get penetrated armor

I think Scythes have great damage but you need to make up the low attack accuracy bonus someplace or you wont hit much.

I just thought with the cost of increasing stats becoming more and more expensive the less balanced your stats and the higher you get, stats will outweigh the other suffixes

And Hmmm i know alot of people have said to go with Caster role but im hoping that future patches will make melee more end game viable...least i hope it should..balance does take awhile.

Wenever i play RPG games i do alot of theorycrafting and as far as i can tell..usually +hit is always higher then any other stat...im not sure if that scales the same way in this game however...

If Scythes are only slightly worse then Katana's and Katana's have higher accuracy maybe i will go with that? Or follow what you say and find myself a Mace to level me up better.

Mind that people say mage is better from Godslayer point of view, with lvls 2xx or 3xx, where they can pull shit like hitting for 300K+ and whatever. You should not agonize over it now, since getting there could take years, bilions of exp, and perhaps donations/years of h@h, though do not qoute me on the last one.

I would say melees may be better than mages below lv.130, before mages get aracna focus.
Also notice that mages need a shit ton of mana potions, which can be difficult to obtain.

You can reach lv.200 in a month or two if you have appropriate strategy and time to play a few hour hours per day. It's not that difficult to grind EXP once you reached lv.220, with the help of EOD arenas, SP shield and x25 difficulty.

Take black aura first.
You can grind credits/EXP more efficiently once you reached higher level.

I meant getting to the point where mage's ragnarok hits for megapwn values, not getting to lvl 200 in finne cotton of elementalist. Wherever that point is.

I'm not really, just pointing that much can change untill today's lowbies get to where many of those who advocate maging are now. It's definitely not something that should be agonized over - Tenebro did say he is somwhat unsatisfied with overall mage gameplay, after all. Who can tell how the balance will look 3 years from now?
