QUOTE(dcherry @ Jan 4 2012, 00:00) Casting Magic Missile will increase staff prof. Magic Missile damage is boosted by elemental proficiency though. https://forums.e-hentai.org/index.php?s=&am...st&p=603613LOL that makes no sense that it's not based on staff proficiency, but hmm... I'm glad I spammed electric spells for dozens of levels!

QUOTE(trikon000 @ Jan 4 2012, 05:13) Is there a wait period before you can get the donation instructions and adopt-a-server instructions from Tenboro or do I have to keep nagging him to pm it?
https://forums.e-hentai.org/index.php?showtopic=53133 (read) Is anyone using Thrice-blessed or Spirit-Ward gear? I've been saving ones with 27-28 and I don't know if I should sell them or toss them.

ya, the only time they are of use is to very low level players. But a full set of max gear could be useful. Been also tossing out a lot of Proficiency Bonuses gear lower then 45, next will be anything below 50. Looks like I may toss most of my Exquisite gear too.

yep. i remember when i first started here i thought it'd be cool to select a set of each element (perf base mitig). well it's all poofed now since it's just eating up inventory space (i like keeping my list short). also got waaaay too many whenever i did a trophy dump so i never felt like it was "scarce" as for the exq, ever since the patch (6.0?) they've been dropping like crazy so i just bazaar most of mine as well unless they actually have a redeeming feature (high ADM club etc). way too common to be marketable for IW leveling anymore. magnificent seems to be the new exq

Won't help on the long run, I already starve on mana. I don't deal enough damages to kill the boss before I'm out of potions (thanks to playing with a 2H mace).

...Then wait till till you can afford them? You're apparently used to losing, so why not do the smart thing and stop losing by not fighting it till you're more prepared? (You're also saving Tokens of Blood by doing so) There's no immediate need to defeat RL, and you can easily earn enough credits from the early arenas to afford basic 1-H equip should the arenas not drop any first. If you're spending your credits like crazy, then stop that for a day. It can wait until you buy a few cheap pieces of equipment. Just buy them off here: https://forums.e-hentai.org/index.php?showtopic=37522Alternate pieces of advice would be to get Silence at Level 110 for Silence and train Pack Rat. But Pack Rat costs 300k credits to max *shrugs*. This post has been edited by HaliZorat: Jan 4 2012, 09:26

I've been using spirit ward to mage FSM, but I know I'll stop using it once I get heimdall gear, since having 66% reduced dark damage is nice, but FSM died faster with DW than mitigation maging. And I can't really say survivability is a problem either DWing or maging this way. Edit: Just tried heroic FSM, 66% dark mitigation kept me alive easy, but the damage output when using banish made sure I used all my 12 mana potions. Ofcourse I could have used condemn and have no mana problems, but with banish spamming it took around 500 rounds. Condemn would take ~2k rounds, so no thanks. I keep a set of max base prof gossamer of each type (except heaven-sent) + prof staff, superior protection plate, unsold negation shade (if I ever wanna train up melee profs). Buncha 1h/2h with high stats that keep dropping (drain/nimble/balance/etc). Spare Focus staff, Buckler, Tower Shield. A phase set for every element (6). Also this, my precious~

I don't know why lots of people still prefer melee attack over magic ones? Facing 8-10 monsters at a times, you need at least ONE strike for each monster (let's say they're all one-hit kill), thus resulting 8-10 turns to actually kill them all, in which time you would take lots of damage from them. Magic, on the other hand, can finish them off with 1 turn at best (provided you're really strong and the spell is effective). I'm not very experienced with melee (I choose staffs since the beginning), anyone can explain?

Well mages are more powerful than melees in the current patch, though melees still retains several advantages over mages at lower levels.
1. Melee's armors have higher mitigation status than mages. It means melees can sustain more hit than mages and thus need less time for cure/regens.
2. Melee need way less mana potions to survive than mages. Mana consumption for low-level mages can be ridiculous.
3. Melee can handle gods easily, while mages need specific armor. With silence it's just a piece of cake for melee to beat gods.
Melees can also multi-hit enemies with two-handed weapons, so that's not a real problem.

Thanks, I see it now. Another one: which battle mode is the fastest to level up? I usually find myself doing grindfest all day. Does any of the other (arena, item world,...) have better exp per round?

QUOTE(LangTuTaiHoa @ Jan 4 2012, 14:20) I don't know why lots of people still prefer melee attack over magic ones?
Simple, stun is ridicilous effective. Non ethereal mace + kevlar armor with a worth of 52% physical mitigation let me do every arena on nightmare and the first 5 on IWBTH. The only thing I had to watch out was magic attacks if I was at half health. Now I'm maging and I get randomly 1 round killed on heroic (9 normal hits of 400 each means I only have 800 health left, insert a crit there and I'm probally dead), and I usually kill one round in 2 casts. So if I really had to put melee vs magic in perspective for my level and my experience, it would be: Pro to maging: - Ridicilous fast kill speed - High damage output Con to maging: - No survivability at medium high difficulties (nightmare/hell) unless you have Spark of Life/Spirit Shield - Expensive gear Pro to melee: - Survivability - Gear is cheap (excluding ethereal weapons) Con to melee: - Decent weapons are expensive - Takes a long time to clear anything Although once you reach level 200 things apparently change alot.
