When you get hit by a Piercing attack as Shade at Pfudor a huge chunk of HP and SP is going to go away, i'm not sure which i would choose.

Why is 2H best paired with light armor? I've been doing 2H+Heavy and I don't plan on switching to anything else, but I'd like to know what I'm missing out on.

Haven't heard that before, but without forges heavy armor just doesn't cut it against the speed boost of pfudor. My power armor only has negligibly more pmit than shade, and the extra damage does not make up for getting hit 20 times every turn. I'd need a swift butcher ethereal of slaughter and full featherweights at the absolute least just to see if it would make any difference at all. If you're going to use plate of protection, you might as well just use FRD with agile estoc and save the money and time.

Also I've only been playing IW so maybe arena is different.

iwbth is a different story. Can easily be stanced down without even looking at the screen. afaikt 2h heavy has no cheap option for pfudor that can't be done better ( = faster and cheaper) by anything else.

when I used the word "viable" I assumed I would get a contextual answer that would fall around a 7 on my own internal difficulty scale:

1 - clear all arenas on normal
5 - clear all arenas on hell/nightmare
7 - clear all arenas on IWBTH+
10 - absolutely the best build in terms of % to succeed and the least amount of time to clear all arenas, ROBs, grindfests, and IWs

Edit: I also figured that people would take it to include a general idea of currency/rarity or items. Like they don't expect me to find a Peerless Agile Shade set at my level for a reasonable price.

iwbth is a joke compared to how things used to be. Probably anything should be able to handle it by using whatever happens to drop and unlocking all of the skills. pfudor requires a harder look if you don't want it to take ages and don't want to die. (Or just use 1h lol.) If anything, the lower difficulties seem much harder than they should be.

Different builds are better at different modes since monster counts are different and non-arena monsters get stronger every round. Then you have to think about profit over time.

To do that, there would be a need of a lot of data, like A LOT, i imagine.

well, a forge algorithm is already working, both for reverse calculations and for simulations.

some formulas about stats are already known (like this), so we should "only" check the other ones, the effect of base stats on overall build, multipliers for HP/MP/SP/profs, multiplicative additions and so on.

it could somehow be doable, if passing many datas from different pages into one is doable (while an offline tool like excel would require a *ton* of datas to be manually typed, so i wouldn't even consider it)

for sure u can clear PFU fast with 2H ...in fact every style...when u r lv350+ and have all forged L equips (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif) ...when u have 70+miti, tons of parry..none accessible to low-lv players. Doing@low diff means less exp and bad drops. It's just an rational advice, but every1 got their preference (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I have almost 75% Pmit, 75% MMit and I'm still far from being able to play Power 2H. Maybe when I'll reach 80% in each and with a better parry+evade aswell. So far, to me it looks like Power 2H in PFUDOR is plain impossible below lvl400, maybe even below lvl450.

At least that is my ultimate goal, and I know I will be able to do it one day. Needless to say: it takes Peerless parts all the way.

i am curious about this as well, but most of my nice power pieces are level 500, so it will take a while until i can test them

The usual rending-shatter method doesn't work because skills are too slow and the tanking isn't there. 75/75 should be plenty with enough speed.

I hope I'll win more protection in the lotteries in the future, even though a full perless warding is already not bad, due to perfect stats. I don't use any attack speed whatsoever, just tanking about shield blocking. But if I don't count the shield, I'm pretty much dead in no time.

savage of fleet and plain shadowdancer may perform equally. plain fleet may be a decent filler if you want to try the style. avoid savage of shadowdancer, if you're not seriously going to invest in the build (for how cheap it may be lately)

if you don't want to use FRD, longsword is faster than mace in arenas but requires a certain minimum in armour quality. mace is slower but takes less investment to get going and is more versatile since its defensive property really shines in IWs. can't comment on estoc yet, but i'll report back once i've done some testing

if you want to use FRD, anything other than mace goes as long as you can get enough attack speed

Depends on how you play and how much damage you have. Against fewer enemies you just beat them to death with stance. Against more, a flowchart may help.

[sleep/confuse/mace half]
rending blow other half
[shatter strike]
[sleep/confuse/mace first half if not previously done]
kill rending half
kill other half

Remove brackets as necessary depending on weapon, damage and defenses.
It does matter which half you kill first because of the way targeting works. If you use a skill on the first target, it will reach all four targets below; anywhere else and you have to hit the center target to reach two above and two below. Say you're hitting DEFGH and F dies first. You will no longer be able to hit all of DEGH with a skill. Targeting E will miss H, and G will miss D. So you have to figure out which half of the screen you want to start on.

Of course if you're swole you just stance up and beat everything to death like usual, but if you could do that you wouldn't be asking questions here (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I just defeated Invisible Pink Unicorn on IWBTH as lvl189, dualwielding plate was my setup for it, I was originally grinding dualwielding light armor. I'm wondering if normally it's easily done because it was first time ever I did this, only playing since like a week or so. The artifacts in shrine gave me some crap items one of average quality and other one was superior. I don't know how to link my items here, as I'm a complete beginner in HV. On the side note, how do I make my lazy pets bring more ring of blood tokens?

Yes, RoB is easy.
Shrining almost always gives crap stuff.
RoB Tokens are found in battle (especially in Arena Clears), pets don't bring them.



Can someone give me a full round-up on 1H Mage?
Like:
- best Element
- needed Gear/Perks/Stats
- best Cloth combos (5 phase, 4 phase+1 elem, etc), and is it possible to do this without forging them
- etc.
