QUOTE(Sapo84 @ Oct 27 2017, 12:46) Elemental mage with redwood for 3 reasons: 1) Druids use magic abilities, so melee class are automatically out 2) Druid inflict elemental damage, so holy and dark are also out 3) Duids are usually strong in healing/supporting, so willow based elemental damage is also out
What remains is elemental redwood mage. For gear and abilities I would just go standard mage, I don't think there are many druid-specific choices possible.
Nah. With this line of reasoning, a druid will use Earth-Walker stuffs. Not really fit for combat.

QUOTE(ALL_MIGHT @ Oct 27 2017, 09:06) Is it possible for mage player to play without using potions/elixir and only using Draught. If yes then at what level, magic regen per tick will be more then enough to play.? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) i cleared PF DwD using no consumables whatsoever. it's possible, just takes time, hit every ether tap and use spirit theft at leisure. oh and i used plate armour

He can mix one earth-walker cloth for role-play if he so wants. Still, elemental clothes/phases are acceptable so there is no need to use crap. If most of the attacks are arcane blows I don't think it really counts as mage gameplay though (with 1H is stupidly easy to clear DwD without consumables, you just have to arcane focus a bit and forget spirit stance when spirit gets low). This post has been edited by Sapo84: Oct 27 2017, 15:07

There is actually an attempt to be self sufficient right before 1H being the only feasible melee at higher difficulty. At that time, battle items are not replenished. If you brought 6 mana pots to battle, then six mana pots it is for the duration of arena (or grindfest). For 1H, mana is recoverable, but spirit isn't. I forgot who has the initiative (he's among wealthy player, jculinae or fatemoe or someone else), but I joined their effort to grind dark magic proficiency so that 1H can siphon spirit when needed. I managed to finish DwD with single spirit pot! Fun times!! Then draughts came along.

If I had hit level 300 during the age of limited consumables per Arena runthrough I might have actually done this myself. Now, thanks to unlimited usage of draughts I'm like 'whatever' (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

In the rest just two more. That now wasted money really hurt my feelings. But it was a good time back than. Trying to figure out what mix of potions you should take into the fight.

aye. btw, only ten slots here. since my connection wasn't so good, i stopped at the level that allowed me to do PF T&T. also, things went quite better when i started reducing the SP/MP ratio and using Spirit Theft instead

Could go with Shade Arcanist stuff, and do a melee/magic mix. Ethereal club of the battlecaster would fit the theme as well. (Shillelagh). As for earthwalker stuff, thinking less "nuke stuff with spells" and more "transform into a buff animal (heartseeker+protection = bear?). Cranking up supportive would make heals and stuff more efficient, so perhaps the style is seeking to be the tankiest thing in the game? Though plate doesn't really fit the concept too well.

actually 1H mage a way better hybrid build than what Staff Arcanist could be. Arcanist should be sort of a jolly, but it's not implehemented very good. probably if you could switch between ADB and MDB depending on your main weapon...

But your spells would do no damage since you would luck mdb, edb and prof. The problem is that you either wear clothes or the attack spells will do no damage. If you want to melee/magic mix you either go real mage and mix some arcane blows to ether proc or go 1h mage (buckler of the battlecaster may fit the druid idea). Arcanist, as already pointed out by Scremaz, is not really fit for hydrib builds (it's mostly for melee attacks + debuff). Also, what type of druid do you have in mind, WoW? D&D? I've got 4/5 Innate Arcana hath perks, and I was wondering if Spirit Shield was worth the 1000 hath to push into my slot. As far as I can see, it limits the amount of damage I can take at once, but drains my spirit reserves—but I definitely have a lot more health than I do spirit, so I'm not sure about putting it on Innate Arcana.

Most definitely (read this wiki entry). Usually Spirit Shield is the priority to put on IA slot, along with Spark. At your level, maybe the mobs are too weak to give serious damage. If you unsure, just don't do it. There will be a day you might be defeated without Spirit Shield, but maybe just not yet. Quick (stupid) question, melee or mage? IA 4 usually unlocked by mage player. Because recasting buffs is a hassle. 1H, only need 2 IA slot.
