Since soulfuse doubles potency exp, we might consider that it saves both time and the funds lost while in IW. A straight IW10 service may cost 200k so a soulfused weapon saves 100k (and more if you use amnesia shards at beginning levels to reset).

Rough cost breakdown for a legendary class IW10 that you know you will soulfuse when done:

Salvage and buy back costs maybe 100k. Using ten shards costs maybe 150k. Using five shards with a free reforging service costs maybe 70k, plus at least 100k in longer grinding time, so 170k or more?

getting the element you want AND the best IW, is something like win a actual lottery in RL. When you finaly got your IW after the 60th or 70th try, you wont reforge that weapon, sure as sure.

If you are slightly less picky with your regular potencies, it won't need many shard resets before your IW10. Then you can utilize the great salvage plan. Another idea is to sell the weapon to someone else, if you don't like the element. Because everyone has different opinion, you can search out a buyer who does not mind it.

2. You have neat stats from other equipment and IW will not give you much differences
3. You have not tons of amnesia or credits for reforging
4. RNG hates you.
5. You are lazy

Well lets see, no endgame gear, nope my rapier is endgame, i will probably never change it. The stats i have are okayish, but a perfect IW would increase them even more. Well three is a thing. I used up all my shards a week ago. But i still have the money to buy them. Well, it cant hate me that much, otherwhise i wouldnt had get that rapier. No, i am not lazy. The salvaging of soulfused equipment is deliberate, so I doubt it will be fixed. It is described in the wiki. There is a tremendous buy back penalty (25x more expensive than sell) to prevent abuse with IW10. It is cheaper to use this salvage method regardless, especially if the equipment is soulfused. But it's not unreasonable.

The only thing the wiki forgot to mention is that if the equipment is soulfused, after salvaging and buying it back, it is still soulfused. Maybe someone could add that.

Given my configuration below, I still didn't proceed faster than 2H/Light. What did I do wrong?

Gear:
Staff | Cap | Robe | Gloves | Pants | Shoes

Play:
Buff > Imperil > Spell Rotation > staff tapping

I've been wondering about doing the Item World for some of my legendary power armor equipment and even for some of my magnificent power items. Is the time spent completing the item worlds worth it?

Also, as I am a heavy armor, single weapon-shield, melee fighter, is it better to have pure power armor or should I mix my set up with the legendary plate armor that's been sitting in my inventory?

To get some juggernaut and some element mitigations, yeah, it is worth it.

No, it is not. If you have allready a full power armor set, you shouldnt downgrade it with Leg Heavy Armor. Go for Leg Power Armor instead.

Target would be 0.68 so you need to raise it by... a lot  ☆(＃××)
Also, putting your stats on Scremaz's calculator you wouldn't pass this much even if your base was at your level and you upgrade your staff and shoes forbidden prof to 50... you will need 1 more prof raising cloth armor so sacrifice something.
If you have 353 of effective prof 103 from equip then your base is at (→_→) 253? Work harder

I have a similar feeling. If I have demonic/hallowed and need to reset at IW8, I might use shards instead of salvage, even if it's slightly more expensive. Who knows, maybe one day there would be an accidental bug and the weapon vanishes. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

But ethereal going for a decent IW and good element, I think the owner should consider to salvage it repeatedly. Certainly for a magnificent ethereal (as mentioned, cost is only 40k credits, can't beat that). After one salvaging, it already became soiled and impure (in our imagination) so might as well keep salvaging.

You can make good use of an ethereal with imperfect IW but desired element by sending him over to your DW build.

Well, I'm building proficiency right now. By doing arena at Hard difficulty. I was not hoping this configuration allow me to play at Hell+. Still, I was expecting at least as fast as 2H. However, the record says I need ~20% more turn. something is afoot.

Better to play with your normal style (be 1h, 2h, ninten, dw...) and just using one ヽ(ˇヘˇ)ノ a single one ╮(￣ω￣;)╭ spell of your intended element every battle and your will gain prof even faster this way because of more experience.

Just used Shockblast   (∩` ﾛ ´)⊃━炎炎炎炎炎   once in the last RE and got "You gain 0.709 points of elemental magic proficiency." Base 301, LVL 318.

Does high WIS really reduce your MP consumption? Have I been wasting my mana potions all along. Also, why do we need INT? I leave it at the 1m exp point, should be around 250 INT.

For 1H, you should never need potions. Just use a draught at around 50%.

I went to 440Wis and 350Int. Mainly because it takes so very little exp, and I get the spirit bonus (makes my spirit draughts go further in SS)
Agi I left at 400, dex and str I try to keep about the same. My end is 490, which seems fine for the moment. I might raise it a bit more as I get closer to 500

In the mage prof calculator the proof perk variable isn't being counted (〃￣ω￣〃ゞ
On the "Simulation" page, no difference between Yes/No
