Interesting to see Uncle mention they only use Spirit Shield and not Spark of Life. I was slightly surprised when I read that most people use both at the same time. It makes sense not to if possible, because it is a waste of MP and SP, for achieving a slightly similar effect. The chances that you will spark with an upgraded Spirit Shield cast are low.
Spirit Shield with no upgrades can also be used as a funny replacement for Spark of Life.
WName, I use very few draughts. As others mentioned you need to upgrade your spirit tank. At my current level I play like you, with only Spark of Life. With full upgrades Spirit Shield becomes a huge and sometimes unnecessary drain on spirit so for now I prefer Haste and Shadow Veil.
I've never needed to buy potions or draughts. My reserves naturally either stockpile or stay the same.

I've searched the Wiki everywhere, but cannot find an explanation of the effect it has the training of Set Collector ability.
I don't want to sink Cs in it without knowing what it oes, can someone explain it, please ?
Thank you.

https://ehwiki.org/wiki/Trainingand also the description in training page QUOTE(BlueWaterSplash @ Oct 1 2017, 23:20) Spirit Shield with no upgrades can also be used as a funny replacement for Spark of Life.
nope, Spirit Shield should be upgraded as much as possible. and yep, if you do only arenas and REs there's the chance you won't need Spark at a certain level. not that it hurts so much having it on, btw...

QUOTE(mundomuñeca @ Oct 1 2017, 23:46) It just says, in column "Effect", +1 equipment set . What does that even means ? Dropping sets of equip ? Somehow I don't think so ... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) I'd say if this is an explanation, it sounds quite criptical to me (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Just go into you equipment screen. Right above where you can change your weapon you will see the answer to your question. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) You mean it adds equip. slot for the persona ? ?cause Wiki says "equipment SET" instead of "slot", that confused me no end (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Thanks Uncle, owe you AGAIN (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) EDIT: If it was for me, I'd put a one-liner in Wiki Training page, saying something like : "Training this ability adds a new equipment slot in the persona's equipment set page." or along that line. Just because something seems obvious to you, Scremaz, it's not necessarily obvious to others, especially if they know much less then you about HV; that is why there is the Wiki, after all, for newbies mainly isn't it ? Therefore clarity should be a goal, imho. This post has been edited by mundomuñeca: Oct 2 2017, 00:06

*erm* go here, please: https://hentaiverse.org/?s=Character&ss=eqyou may read: "equipment slots: set 1, set 2, set 3..." and so on, depending on your level on that training. the information you seek is already there, in the vanilla game itself. no need to add it in wiki. indeed. i wouldn't contribute to write it if i, too, didn't think this way.

Sadly, I've not really had the time to play the last few weeks; work and all.
Had a quick question though, what was the result of axe vs rapier debate of what is the fastest turnwise for non boss fights?

I don't think anyone actually tested it, so it's still inconclusive (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

QUOTE(as013 @ Oct 2 2017, 14:09) How does higher deprecating prof affect imperil mage?
i'd say, according to this page: https://ehwiki.org/wiki/Proficiencies#Magic_Proficiencies1 - cheaper imperil 2 - faster imperil (guess it doesn't matter with max ability though) 3 - higher chance for imperil to land 4 - longer imperil (basically unrelevant, unless you're going against FSM) cannot quantify the effects exactly, but the most interesting one should be #3.

QUOTE(jplshejeser @ Oct 1 2017, 20:55) so if i have upgraded my rapier already with 2 bindings of slaughter
i will only get 1 binding of slaughter back after salvaging it?
yep More importantly, while that Binding of Slaughter you lose is a sunk cost, it also means you can upgrade up to 10x times with Binding of Slaughters and not lose another one again. If you upgrade to Physical Damage 15 you only lose 1 BoS, from 16-25 it's 2 BoS you lose, etc.

Okay new perk bought. I hope the monsters will now be obedient and stop resisting my imperil

SO, to add to getting my Mage Gear IW'd, I need to IW my axe and do the testing myself >.< I'll do the axe first (LEAS), since getting perfect IW on my PHOH is being a pain in the arse.

QUOTE(Uncle Stu @ Oct 2 2017, 16:23) So? Whas it worth it? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) I don't know. I only mage for arenas until I get decent armors that can make me survive a full IW run.

Yep that's my experience too. However the improvement is small step.

At least I hope it reduces imperil cost. Most of my mana potion usage comes from that.
