Yes, that what I am saying and I am highlighted the fact that it was Noodle (one of 14?). So, you can expect that once in blue moon Noodle may give you something decent (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
All boss' and SG' trophies gave you only trash... And 8 magnificent. =(

Basically, shrining artifacts is a gambling: most times you will receive trash (few days ago one user reported that he shrined ~1000 trophies and got only one legendary equipment from one Noodle Appengage trophy. It is good that he got at least one!).
So, why you should test your luck then? Instead you can visit WTB-section of the forum and find someone who are buying trophies for nice price (they are rich cats and have millions of credits, so they can afford a gambling in an attempt to get good equipment).

I think shrining artifacts is worth it so you can get artifact stats. You can sell the energy drink. I don't know about trophies. I think it could be worth it if there is a specific kind of equipment you want (1H for example). Not everything is based on value. For example a few days ago buimon got Legendary Demonic Rapier of Balance and other people told it's crap, worth less than 50k to a high level player. But for us, it's worth like 500k because it's low level and great weapon and we can use it.

So I got 2 items in auction:
Legendary Charged Cotton Shoes of the Demon-fiend
Legendary Frugal Cotton Cap of the Demon-fiend

Shoes have base prof of 6.25
Cap has base prof of 8.21
Total of 14.46

Both equips will be lv. 500 when I start using them, one soulfused, other as-is.

How can I calculate the prof factor I will have with these 2 items, when fully forged, at level 500?

If you get a decent willow staff which has 6.0 base prof,

(6.0+6.25+8.21) * 1.342 (forge) * 15 (scale ratio at 500) = 411.86

And you can get +50 from the hath perk.

Thus, you need 538.14 base proficiency to reach 1.0 factor.

Use 5 phase for SGs,use Magnet and Imp only on schoolgirls in rounds with schoolgirl.

I finally tested 5+0 vs 4+1 (fuck IW), results are from this week (friday excluded since it has mitigation reduction)

I didn't play very well in the first 38 rounds, imperil should be up at all times since un-impereled monsters take too much time.
Anyway, even if I manage to do a bit better the difference is not as big as I was thinking.
Very close, and End of Days/Eternal Darkness should see even smaller benefit (if there is a benefit to begin with).
Obviously I will play more with this setup, but my guess is that 4+1 is nearly as good as 5+0 and much cheaper (10,000 kGP, 20+M worth of materials, 40+ amnesia shards and hours of IW in my case).

P.S. To get the monsterbation turns subtract 150 from the total in the screenshots (I'm keeping the Counter Plus behaviour).

Somewhere in the 300s you'll replace that with a Slaughter piece or Protection piece with > 90% ADB. IMO, the first thing any 1H + heavy in the mid 200s should consider soulfusing is a decent rapier(i.e. Mag rapier of slaughter with a high ADB for Mags).

Slaughter is at least 2X as good.
So, assuming a helmet of balance gives 1.5% better damage than a helmet of protection a slaughter one gives 3-3.5% more than a protection helmet. (true values are probably a bit lower than that)
Savage is only marginably better with balance, so I would assume it's equally as good with both suffixes.

I'd continue. At lv 7 you have to use 4 shards already, so you'll have to add only one. At this point, why not gambling?

Trying to find a decent rapier, because I'm told that's ideally what you want to aim for for a 1h+shield setup, but having trouble finding anything around the right level--the ones in the bazaar are crap, and the ones in the WTS sub all seem to be either much higher (too high to soulfuse) or free but low quality. Anyone have suggestions on how I should handle gearing around level 150-160?
