I wonder if Shortsword of Slaughter as DW offhand could be more damaging than Shortsword of Balance?
Shortsword of Slaughter maximum accuracy: about 41.55% (96% offhand strike)
Wakizashi of Nimble/Slaughter maximum accuracy: about 37.03% (93%~94% offhand strike)
Rapier of Nimble/Slaughter maximum accuracy: about 32.49% (91% offhand strike)
That particular Legendary Demonic Wakizashi of Slaughter had near max parry and accuracy, and good adb. Someone should try to run the numbers on Shortsword of Slaughter versus Balance in the offhand. Maybe I'll do it later.
And it could be noteworthy that with bad equipment (say mostly leather like I still use in DW, or maybe a Legendary Rapier of Nimble in main hand) the Shortsword/Wakizashi of Slaughter becomes even more attractive for the damage boost. Also having more damage makes Frenzied Blows stronger and offhand strike chance doesn't matter for specials.
Considering that near-peerless Wakizashi of Balance can go for 1m+ a near-peerless Wakizashi of Slaughter still ought to be worth a lot. In reality it's not, but I think Wakizashi of Slaughter are underrated.
