QUOTE(Tenboro @ Oct 6 2009, 11:00) Err. Yes. Well, not against skills/magic anyway. It's worked for normal attacks. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) That explains a lot. Like why it took so long for me to get a true melee build going. I used to get all the elemental ratings because I thought they'd help make surviving jiggle and toddlerguro and meh a bit easier (20+% ratings = reduce damage by 1/5 or more. Somewhat a permanent barrier spell). So I wasted tons of skill points on those abilities when I wasn't actually going to cast any offensive magic, and when they weren't actually protecting me (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Then gillian helped me see the light; Elemental AP's went to Overcharge AP's and here we are. @Forth_lancer: More like we gave up on them. I used to attempt it, but found it not worth it (I wonder why). @Tenb: Several more hours of cakefest and several hundred items later, I still haven't found a single godly anything. This applies to both health and mana items, potions and draughts. The highest on the regular consumable table I'm finding is superior, and that's extremely rare (about 1 item out of 150). I don't know if you tweaked it yet or not, but I just thought I'd mention it. I did however find 1 mana elixir, so I guess the special tree works somewhat. But no godly anything ;_; This post has been edited by DemonEyesBob: Oct 6 2009, 18:10

You really just seem like you're complaining because you don't want to change anything.

yes, you don't need them. But you would live alot longer if you had them.
Regen, while not the same burst heal, is quite nice and much more mana friendly. My regen heals me for 1200+ where cure gets 400. 3x the heal for 1.5x the cost.

which is why I switched away from full heavy after this update.
percent mitigations got nerfed, removing my highest interference lowest effect heavy pieces for solid cloth and light returned 10 absorb to shield and made my regen much more effective. You have ta adapt.
But ok, say you keep to cure until you get your prof up to 80, there are other spells that would make your life easier, and full heavy is no longer necessarily the best option.

I've pretty much maxed out my heavy prof at the moment, so I go into cakefest with 2 heavy pieces to keep me alive and 3 of whatever I want prof increases for. If I do that with my staff I can literally last as long as my patience allows (24% ether theft 2 turns), since the two pieces of heavy armor will take the brunt of the damage, shield without all heavy absorbs a little over 30 points of damage, and ether theft allows me to have shield on 100% of the time and still never get below 100 points of my maximum MP when casting both shield and regen as needed. Great prof raising technique. I realize it's a bit off topic. Sue me. @Tenb: when you've got a bit of free time and want to do something really, really simple and still feel like you've accomplished something (cajole cajole), do you think you could give id's to our hp/mp/sp bars, and give that whole rectangular area that contains those, our level, current difficulty, etc an id too? I think it deserves one, seeing how big it is and how stuffbox kinda encompasses everything (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) It would also make my amateur attempts at greasemonkey a bit less headbashing inducing. Thanks (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Thats... exactly what I'm doing, except I'm training both light and cloth instead of alternating as I found a nice +curative phase piece.. 2 heavy, 2 light, 1 cloth, my heavy prof is already maxed. Pretty much exactly the same... Except my staff is 23%x2, not 24 and I get 28 absorb out of shield D: Diminishing returns on percentages, each heavy piece after the first has less of an effect.

Somethins getting tweaked. Maybe godly potions are getting a drop boost? Seems like the easiest thing to do that tenb mentioned he was thinking about.

I sure hope he's updating with that 0.3.8 he profiled :3
ALPINE EDIT: Also, the Slap Chop, or Slap Chop components, should be an artifact. Just throwing that out there.

I just hope Snowflake is in a good mood after the spa. & when you get dropped back into the grind, you may have a nice surprise waiting.

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) I always thought it was fishy that Toddlerguro and mEh damaged me more and more as I leveled, no matter how much I added to rating.
