Now that one of the main benefits of DEX and AGI, i.e. the evade bonus, has been eliminated, will something else compensate? Will the previous bonus be diverted toward something else, either a new aspect or beefing up the other existing stat effects?

I think infusion prices sell price should be 2x current. 50 is too little, and 200 was generous. They were basically the lowest valued thing worth selling since the weaker cures were hardly worth using in normal. Aside from that, monster speed is crazy. My main stat is agi, but I'm getting double-upped by whales.

Oh, and thanks for working on the game at all. It is fun coming back to something I can spend time with and seeing the changes, even if I don't agree that they are for the better.

you still evade at the same rate, or something similar. But it is only a cosmetic change, now monsters miss you instead of you dodging. Battle Buddy has to update for the wording change.

If the accuracy change actually caused a noticeable difference in hit rates for monsters against, it would cause the exact same change in hit rates the other way. In 0.3.6, the hit and evade rate increased at the same rate, keeping it at an almost exact 75% no matter what, meaning that for all intents and purposes the stats were meaningless. In 0.3.7, the accuracy starts at 75%, and increases slowly as you increase level.

This only mentions hit rates starting at a floor and increasing; it doesn't say that hit rates ever decrease. If I pump up DEX, it will not decrease the chance of a monster hitting me, the way I'm reading it.
If this really becomes "everybody hits everybody more often" then it's going to be a problem for those of us relying on high-evade cloth armor instead of soaking.

Battles now remind me of my childhood, (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) When my older brother would punch me in the face then stomp my balls while I was down, just because he could. Thanks big bro tenboro (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

i modded battle buddy to read the new dodge wording, and im getting ~20-22% dodges in the arenas on normal. it was about 24 before the update so there isnt that significant of a change.

i got smashed on the last round of fresh meat, i guess thats as far as i can get with crudes.

first post for me.

I am not a big fan of this update, but I appreciate Tenboro's tinkering to make the game better. The following are my observations on the update:

Overall damage received - Taking a ton more damage in cakegrind (using full plate), thus using more items and cure

DW - I seem to be missing more

1-H - Benefit of adding a shield seems to be mitigated from loss of additional damage, and less blocks with the loss of 1-H procs block bonus

2-H - I had pretty given up on 2-H due to accuracy and frequency of multiple hits, but this update definitly adds them back into my bag of tricks

Possible solutions:

Overall damage received - consider armor to be one item rather than 5 separate pieces? longer durations for shield and barrier?

DW - seems right, as i thought the dual wield accuracy bonus was a little too much

1-H - how about a shield bonus equivalent to overwhelming strikes for 1-h+shield users?

2-H - seems back on track with the other weapons

I don't use staffs so I can't comment on them.

But again, thank you for your constant tinkering. I'll just have to roll with this punch like the other ones.

Edit: oh and I am scared to see how badly the arenas are going to be for me, once they reset...

Edit: Items - seems like my main source of income is chopped in half/quarter, which is going to make training a lot slower.

Just wanna throw out some more data. Just did a normal grindfest up to round 10, during it I had to use 4 of my 6 lesser mana draughts, with about 3 hp second winds and 2 mp second winds, and couldn't really continue unless I had replaced two of the mana draughts with hp draughts due to the monsters doing more damage than my cure could keep up with. This was with a mix of cloth and heavy armor that gave me about 17 points of absorbtion, plus my shield which was at around 15 points due to interference. All the mobs were normal mobs.

Needless to say, I could have gotten a bit further if I used better than lessers, but still, it doesn't make me look forward to future arena matches : /

Edit: Stats with armor on as follows -
Base Stats
56+11+1 STR, 55+7+1 DEX, 55+4 AGI, 68+11 END, 54 INT, 55+0+1 WIS,
Ability points
21 hp tanks 15 mp tanks, 9 spirit tanks, 30% OCB,
Equipment
25.5% phys damage, 40.7% phys hit chance, 17.4 phys absorbtion, 7.9% phys mitigaiton, 12 Magic absorbtion, 8.6% magic mitigation, 6.7% evasion, 10.9% parry, 50.7 interference, 69.3 burden, 9.6% crushing mitigation, 17.6% slashing mitigation, 9.6% piercing mitigation
Proficiency
50.48-9.74 supportive
46.80-9.03 curative
56.56 Dual Wield
57.70 Cloth Armor
62 Heavy Armor

Owwie!!!

So much for my recent attempts to experiment with Mage-hood.

And the increased rates of Hits by Monsters makes the 2H a little less appealing to Grind with as well.

Damn....gotta try to improvise, adapt, and overcome.......even if Tenboro later decides to nerf the Character Classes even more next time.... (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I just did an hourly battle with three monsters (on Heroic), and didn't notice any particular increase in difficulty. I only realised something had changed when I went to my Equipment screen and saw the new Resist stat. (I hope I didn't waste my credits buying those new bits of equipment btw.) I already did the Arenas last night, so I can't comment on those yet. As for Cakefest... I'll try that shortly and report back.

I can still reach round 70 in grindfest on cake without potion or so. I can continue even further but it's boring.

Tenboro, it seems that with every patch acquiring credits becomes increasingly difficult. Truly that is my only major gripe with this update as I now visibly recoil from my screen whenever I see the infusions and special consumables I had been saving for a rainy day.

It's continually becoming more and more expensive to play HentaiVerse. I can only presume the reason is because you don't feel the need to allow anyone that doesn't contribute extensively to E-Hentai to excel in HV. That's fair enough, and even though I dislike this theory, it does make sense. You needn't allow anyone to play HV for free, but you do.

However some of us sadly have no real means of contributing, thus having no way of making the essential credits needed in HV. I was lucky enough to be gifted with a gold star, but there's many other players who aren't so lucky. With the reduction of the sell cost of items, gaining credits within the HentaiVerse has become much, much harder.

Although I am aware that you've stated that HentaiVerse is a 'credit sink' and was not designed as a way to gain credits, the previous sell prices of items made keeping our heads above water at least a possibility. As a resident of the 3rd world country Australia I'd ask you to rethink these changes. Pretty please? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif)

Hopefully you're still reading this rather long-winded post of mine, because I do have one final thing to say. My HV persona, "Jamesworth the 2nd" as I have named him, tells me that the recent changes have caused him much pain and injury. I however have faith in the changes and hope that my optimism will be rewarded in the much anticipated version 0.4.

Perhaps some sort of [Fusion-Powered Projectile Weapon of the Win] will cheer Jamesworth up? He don't much like the tentacle rape.

After doing several 50 shot rounds of cakefest. It seems that the average damage I take per round went from 60 to 100 after the update. My build is full plate sword and board (with one cloth).

Also I would have preferred to keep the evade and resist chance on the character screen, since now I have no real idea what it is without doing lots of math(assuming the formula is the same).

Lastly could you update the primary stats page to reflect this update. I don't want to start using experience if I don't know what it is actually going to do. (Mainly accuracy)

Are there any incentives to train Scavenger and Luck of the Draw now? What's the point of training those if you're not suppose to recover from your investment?

BAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

I can't do 500000 rounds of grindfest anymore!!!111!!!11!

The world has come to and end, I must become an hero!

BAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

[/satire]

Seriously, do you guys think you're supposed to be able to do 100+ rounds of grindfest every hour or 2? Are you retarded enough to think that's his intent?

Suck it up, nerfs happen, quit bitching and look forward to the next buff without complaining, because just bitching and "threatening" to quit will do nothing to help you. Do you really think Tenb cares if you guys quit?

Actually, my goal is to make the baseline HentaiVerse more or less "credit-neutral", with some clearly defined ways to luck out and make some money. One is the arena progression. The other is the rare artifact drops. Seeing as healing cost was cut in half as well, I don't think this patch altered this balance significantly, except that equipment and training will be relatively more expensive compared to "trash drops". So in essence, if you want to pick up anything significant from the stores, or you want to partake in extensive training, then yes, you will have to contribute in some form or another.

There is no evade/resist stat outside of the equipment stats. The real reason for the change was to stop having two distinct evade chances, as that was just dumb. There is now just an accuracy stat, which should be exactly equal to the real chance of hitting enemies or landing spells. There is a semi-fictional inverse "miss chance" which due to some legacy technical quirks can still be manipulated by certain buffs, but for all intents and purposes this just modifies accuracy. (For example if you cast something that decreases a monster's "miss chance" by 5, namely Poison, that just means your accuracy has a +5 bonus against it.)

Updated.

Looking at that, it seems that we can use stats to reduce damage taken (shield / barrier), but cannot use stats to reduce the chance of being hit. Is that correct, or is this something calculated but not listed?

edit: I know you just said there is no evade / resist stat, but I want to be sure that DEX and AGI no longer serve the purpose for which I train them before sinking more XP into them.

Well, the increase to Domino is nice, don't get me wrong, but the reduced hit rate makes it about as useful as before. I also understand that you want more people to use Infusions rather than selling them, but heavy armor users really have use only for Divinity infusions, and as stated prior, healing items are more beneficial in that respect. I'll probably have more to criticize after the arenas open up for today.
