Can anybody explain, how to calculate monster resist? For example we have a monster with 370WIS (max possible) and 20 chaos resist upgrades. In this formula what "Level" means? Resist = 1 - (1 - min(10 , (WIS/ 100) , (WIS - Level) / 75) / 100) * (1 - chaos_dissipation_rank * 0.5%) If it's character level then if Level >= 370, monster resist capped at 10%. Is it right?
And I also wanted to know about how resist rolls work: If monster resist = 10%, are the chances of damage reduction as below? chance of 0% red = 0.9^3 = 72.9% chance of 50% red = 3*(0.9^2)*0.1 = 24.3% chance of 75% red = 3*0.9*(0.1^2) = 2.7 % chance of 90% red = 0.1^3 = 0.1%
And one more question about counter-resist: Does it stack multiplicatively or additively with monster resist? For example if I have 12% c-resist and monster have 10% resist, monster effective resist will be 0% or 10*(1-0.12) = 8.8%?

Hello, a few question:
1. Is there a way to reset the Primary Stats?
2. On the fighting screen, what are the squares below the "Attack Skillbook Items..." menu for?
3. Are the Spike Shield abilties worth getting?
Thanks

Limited to 10 points per day, just hit minus sign. Spell shortcut. Go to character > setting. Yes.

Which treatment gives higher kill count for monster, increased PL or sufficiently chaos-ed?

From what I know it requires a certain balance to be the most efficient: Higher PL probably has the most effect on it's own, but without chaos stuff it ends up being a lot weaker than it can be. With low PL it will compete with more other monsters in order to show up in a fight (thus having a decreased chance of even getting a chance to get a kill) and with lower chaos stuff its probably going to be weaker than other monsters of its PL and thus decreasing the chances of winning a fight that it's in. I think it's probably best if chaos is as high as possible and that you increase the PL whenever you can afford to do so. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, I can't say I'm 100% sure as I only know what I gathered from the wiki and forums and I may have misinterpreted stuff...

Multiplicatively otherwise it would actually be good.

The PL comes from 2 things; primary stats (which governs how fast and hard a monster hits and how much damage it can withstand) and elemental resists. Elemental resists are useless against a melee player (who will be dealing mostly physical if not downright void damage). At a certain PL, you(r monster) will only ever fight players of a certain level range. At the last PL range, you will fight players of up to level 500 (so unless your PL is way up there, and you have full chaos upgrades, you will die). Chaos upgrades add to the primary stats' base levels. A max 'chaos'd monster at any given PL is going to be far tougher (and a lot harder to hit, in terms of resist/evade/parry) than the average monster. So chaos upgrades are the way to go at lower PL ranges.

That's why you need more potion slots for MP potions by training Pack Rats. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Cast buffs like Regen and Heartseeker which need a lot of MP on spirit stance to save 25%. Use channeling wisely, too. And check your stats, especially WIS. Melees also need WIS for MP.

After getting scammed by it, I had a question about that rule: QUOTE When the player has the sole highest bid, the effective price equals the second highest bid plus one credits Couldn't this lead to an exploit where a player hire an accomplice to make a much lower (but still enough to be 2nd highest) bid, then make an extra big 1st highest bid to lure people with currently highest bid of item shop bot? If that's the case, a possible fix would be to display the prize that would be paid by the buying player instead of the bid itself, but first, is that the case?

Dear Tenboro (or math/mage experts):
What's better: 27.7% cast speed bonus + 11% staff counter-resist? Or 21.9% cast speed bonus + 27% staff counter-resist?

Effectively counter-resist = more damage whilst speed = less getting hurt. So it's a matter of offense vs. defense.

Just wonder, if there is anyway I can fill my screen while playing HV? This is what currently look like. Feel awkward while playing like this.

Try "control +" until it looks good? It's the common browser zoom shortcut. ("Control -" to zoom out instead of zoom in)

Gotcha. I was just focusing on the control set in the game but forgot the browser. Thank you.

Any font suggestion to replace default HV's bitmap font? Everything I've tried look hideous. Too small in some place (dropdown menus), too large in other (shops and forge). Spacing's also excessive! I'd love a font that keep HV looks decent when zoomed out.
