My HV loads all fucked up like this -

I can click and play all right but it's no fun. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif)

I've tried reinstalling chrome, clearing cache. Tried Iron browser as I've seen it mentioned a few times. I do not use any scripts.
Any help?

Maybe the css file (http://hentaiverse.org/z/080.css) isn't loading properly?

Try with Firefox?

BTW, my Custom Font settings are Cambria/9/bold/normal/-4 if you are interested.

Those settings weren't supposed to fix the problem, so...

If you don't have any dropdown menus, it means that javascript is disabled somehow.

Thanks a bunch, I could not get the drop downs to work, but I can atleast play hourlies now.
PS - I really do not like firefox. any one else have any idea what to do?

It's exactly like chrome, except that sometimes weird lines of code come in between the page.

What OS are you using?

Since when do you have that problem? When was the last time HV would be displayed normally? Can you think of anything that might be responsible for the problem between the moment you last saw it functionning normally and the first time you had been getting that weird display?

Do you have similar problems with other sites?

Windows 8.

I tried a day ago and it was mostly ok. Sometimes the pages would load all glitched but it was ok after refreshing. I don't know of anything that might've caused this. I ran a virus check too, but it came clean. I mostly use only 2-3 sites. e-h, Reddit, fb and my works site. Rest all work fine, even the galleries are all fine.

maybe try earlier versions of iron? I'm using version 28 of iron.

how about uninstalling java and then installing most updated version of java?

How anyone hadn't yet asked to post the browser log?

Ctrl+Shift+K in firefox based browsers
Ctrl+Shift+J in chrome based browsers

When the issue happens you just hit that and then force a hard refresh with Ctrl+F5, this will print a full log of the connection to the console. That log gives a lot of useful info.

Thanks guys, but I was getting too frustrated and reformatted my system. In hindsight, i should've waited a bit longer, those logs would've helped certainly.
But anyways, everything is fine now, even on chrome.

You can't bring your monster to battle with you. It automatically battles other players (and that may include you if you are in his range). It's a monster like all the monsters you have fought up to now. The hyper majority of monsters you battle are player-created via the Monster Lab (exceptions include Cocatrice, Manticore, Sperm Whale, Spectre, Blue Slime, etc., which were here before the Monster Lab was introduced). Scan a monster to check its owner.

For a start, I recommend you to choose a monster class with a good END and decent STR/DEX (like Giant, Undead, Dragonkin, Mechanoid...). Never choose 'slashing' as basic attack type, because no armor is particularly vulnerable to slash (light armor's melee weakness is pierce, heavy armor's is crush). Feed your monster with monster food, and raise its PL to at least 25 by feeding it crystals (END is the priority, then STR or DEX depending on how high the base stat is). Never raise INT for a monster who can't use magical attacks (unless you just want to inflate the PL). Once it is at least PL 25, name it and it will appear in battles. Name its skill attack (he won't use it otherwise). Regarding chaos upgrades, the most interesting ones are Scavenging, Fortitude, and Brutality. Don't hesitate to take the first chaos level of everything, as it is cheap (only 1 token) and every upgrade reduces the morale bar drain rate.

Remember to feed your monsters regularly (like every day or every 2 days), they starve after 3 days otherwise (starving monsters have a higher morale drain). If you take a break or a vacation, don't worry, after 3 days of not playing HV, your monsters will stop losing morale till you get back.

Try to raise your monster to PL 200 (at PL 200, monsters gain a second skill attack and get a reduced morale drain). Don't forget to name the second skill. Make a bunch of PL 200 monsters that way.

Monsters will regularly give you gifts. If you are lucky, you may get a binding of slaughter (~160k on the market), a binding of destruction (~80k), a crystallized phazon (~240k), a defense matrix modulator (~40k), a shade fragment (~40k), a repurposed actuator (~30k), a binding of protection (~30k), a binding of the ox (~30k), a binding of the cheetah (~40k), a binding of the owl (~30k)...

Don't focus too much on monster lab at your level. Try to not buy crystals from the shop, as it is cheaper to buy them from other players (they usually sell them by batch of thousands though).

Are there any ways to change HV resolution? Aside from zooming out ? (google chrome)
Im stuck with 1024 * 768 crt monitor.
Other question,chrome keep disabling HV stat on its own,saying its not from google store.Any work around for this?
