still too low. Get it to 25, or max if possible. Don't bother with quartermaster, you need to maximize your rolls for loot drops first.

Difficulty and the length of battles also plays a role in Loot Drops as well.

It actually depends on the level of drop trainings. Seems to be better to train them evenly (so they takes the same amount of credits to get the next level). Maxing any one of them first means you're missing the chance to get several levels in the others.

True about the credit bit, but according to ehwiki:

"Base chance of getting any loot at all is 5%; maxing out Scavenger can bring this up to 10%. Thus Scavenger increases a player's chance of getting both equipment and artifacts because there will be more rolls occurring after the initial loot roll, but their individual percentages will remain the same."

But credits is a important factor. Let's pick wiki's possibly outdated numbers.
Base drop chance = 5%, double if maxed scavenger (50 levels)
Base equip chance = 4%, double if maxed quartermaster (20 levels)

So if I get 25 levels of training in scavenger and 10 in quartermaster, I will get (0.05 * 1.5)(0.04 * 1.5) = 0.45% chance to get equip from a monster. And that will cost you about 1,264,830 credits.

On the other hand, if you max scavenger training, you will get (0.05 * 2)(0.04) = 0.4% chance to get equip from a monster. And that will cost you 62,250,821 credits.

That's all because I evenly spend my credits, and this gives cross-term effects between the two factors. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Of course I missed that extra potions/artifacts, but that's some 1 million investment compared to 62 million.

Valid argument. Even distribution in both training does indeed maximizes equipment drop rate.

While it's easier to get screwed as a mage, we have the superior killing speed. Put SoL in IA, lower difficulty a bit and just do more rounds.
If you'd rather play everything on IWBTH, then I recommend switching to melee. Mages just aren't cut out for that as things currently stand.

I don't see how that would help me clear an item world or an arena. I just found that sometimes when I get too many of the aforementioned monsters in a row they will just suck up so much mana I might not be able to finish the arena. Because spells sometimes just miss. Not to mention that getting them on a random encounter and not getting them on a random encounter makes a difference of night and day.

Also, what do you mean with the focus aspect being removed? Does that mean mages will have an even harder time hitting things?

Like right now: my silence wouldn't land on Eila Ilmataari like 3 or 4 times in a row. This means that I kept taking damage and had to spend a boatload of mana just to keep my health up.

Thot means that lates path took out previous "focus" out of "Arcane Focus".

Also, if spells miss you pretty much have to recast.

As for silence not landing...Wouldn't it be more efficient to just kill her with few casts, use weaken or spirit shield or SoL or are you playing on IWBTH?

When i meant Focus, I actually meant accuracy ... typo. No more accuracy bonus from heartseeker & arcane focus.

If you wanna go IWBH as a mage you need GOOD gears, otherwise your gonna have a bad time.

Cast Imperil first, or your hits wouldn't land.

Because the few casts could get me killed. I don't like relying on luck but apparently this is what playing a mage here boils down to.

That's kinda sad to hear though, IWBT was fine with what I had at the start of the year even though even then melee seemed to be considered better.

That's because once you hit lvl 200, it's a whole new ballgame. It's been like that for a while.

Just upgrade all your gears to ones with 4-5 PABs, max out your proficiencies, cast imperil and stock-up on a ton of scrolls and you should be fine doing IWBH.

Really, try to lower the difficulty. Yes you're going to get slightly worse drops from BT, but you're going to finish more rounds, which is enough to compensate the disadvantage. Play IWBTH only when you can kill them in 2-3 casts, especially when it's beyond level 200.

So if I were to hypothetically actually want to play more playing as a mage I would gimp myself on stamina usage? Sounds cool.

@Blacksheep_Eldric
No it wasn't. I've been 216 for like 7 months.

Stamina is not a problem. With more rounds you're bound to get more artifacts.

Yes, at the moment grinding gives me a net positive inflow of stamina (via energy drinks)

Fine+ usually. Your choice, most of the time noodlys don't give equip worth the value.

If this is accurate, you need to shrine on average 25-50 for a magnificent or legendary item. And only a fraction of those will be actually useful (and hence worth something).
On the other hand, one lucky draw can be worth millions of credits.
Pretty much depends on whether you like gambling or not. One method will provide you with a steady stream of income, the other may yield a 10 million item. Or nothing.

does the monster selection algorithm take into account whether a player is active or not? As in if they have played in the past couple of weeks or something like that.

Don't think so. Bunko's monsters are still around.
