QUOTE(hitokiri84 @ Nov 10 2009, 22:38) Interesting analysis, but you're leaving out some important info. The credit perks were created back before credit bonuses were removed, and they also gave a significantly higher bonus with each successive perk. Needless to say, the higher level credit perks were considerably more desirable since the total bonus calculation was multiplicative. Back then I had something like a 117% credit bonus with Frugality. Now it's barely a shadow of it's former self at 4% with Master Miser. Still, the credit perks still had some appeal for use with the shop, but even that has now been destroyed since Tenboro has reduced the sell value of most items and equipment by 75%.
In short, people were baited by promises of high return on their hath investment and instead ended up getting screwed over. Exactly like a HYIP Ponzi scheme, only not with real money.
While I joined E-Hentai early this year, I didn't actually do anything with the site (besides "read" the manga) until last week, when I discovered how fun addictive HentaiVerse is. I have no idea what the game was like back when you grandmasters started, except for a few "legacy" battles that I did at the site on the rare occasion that I visited the main page over the last year. Would you say that it's not worth getting credit perks at all any more, and we should just focus entirely on Aura perks and such? Or is my math at least fairly close, and it's worth getting Penny Pincher for the training savings to cost ratio? This post has been edited by coredumperror: Nov 11 2009, 10:06

first few are still probably worth it, its just that pretty much all the hath perks aren't as desirable as they once were. Auras used to be much better imo. Although with natural regen during combat rainbow is pretty good again.

The first couple of credit perks are still fairly cheap and cost effective, but I think lower level people would do better to spend their hath getting the 3 special auras and cheap EXP perks beforehand. Before the changes I would have said to get the credit perks first for converting GP, but converting GP is pretty much moot with the credit bonuses all but gone, especially when you've got training prices like mine.

But wouldn't it lead to overlevelling (when your Profs lag faar behind) for lowbies, seeing their exp-per-level requirements are pretty low?

What's a good way to level up profs without gaining much EXP (to counteract overleveling)? I do Montage every night, but that's very very little prof gain per day. I only have 11 ranks of Adept Learner, and no EXP Tanks, but my profs are quite a bit lower than my level already, and I just hit lvl 30.

Does quality of the item (like flimsy, fine, superior...) effect the exp?

Then, Cakefest. IW itself boosts exp. And on Cake, you can grind for loong and mobs give not that much exp even with EXP training.

in my experience, that's not much but well, i can do more rounds using clothes, light armor in item world than grindfest ._. in normal i can to 30-40 rounds without one item and in grindfest can't do more than 10 without item, playing on normal ah also if you post it gives you a bonus of exp so you should avoid posting lol i think you shouldn't care much, i mean later or sooner doing cakefest or item world in flimsy/crude weapon you'll cap the prof. I had 5 in clothe proficiency but since item world it was released i leveled up 7 lvls and prof is now 66. but well your choice This post has been edited by AglowGolem: Nov 11 2009, 22:22

Thanks for the advice, all!
Ok, I got another question. Is there a hotkey for your custom spell slots (or a way to set one)? I'm leveling my deprecating prof, and having to click Poison and then click the monster... over, and over, and OVER, is very slow. If I could hit a keyboard key to select Poison while my mouse is already hovering over my target, it'd be a lot easier on my wrist.

Ctrl+ 1-0, corresponding to the position on your Quickcast bar. You can also hit 'R' to recast the previously cast spell on the same target.

On another note: what browser do you folks find most effective for playing HV? I have been using Firefox, but tonight the game was loading especially slowly, so I figured it'd be worth trying it in my newly-installed Google Chrome. Hot DAMN does it load FAST. I get responses fast enough for 2-3 turns per second. Even on the best nights, Firefox hasn't gotten me better than 1 turn a second, and usually less than that. This should significantly improve my grinding speed, plus it means that I can watch youtube videos while playing, since Firefox isn't slowed down by HV. Personally, I use Firefox for HV while I watch videos in IE. In most cases Firefox loads things faster for me than IE, but for some reason I only use it for E-Hentai related things, and do nearly everything else in IE. Though I do regularly copy pages into Firefox to take advantage of DownThemAll.

Hmmm, I can't get Battle Buddy to work in Google Chrome. Does anyone here use Google Chrome and have Battle Buddy working?

Oops, I'm an idiot. Its Alt, not Ctrl. Ctrl is the shortcut for switching tabs. Can't help you with using BB in Chrome. Its supposed to support it, I'm just not familiar with how you install userscripts on Chrome.

QUOTE(cmal @ Nov 11 2009, 22:56) Its supposed to support it, I'm just not familiar with how you install userscripts on Chrome. Yeah, it took me a bit of effort to figure it out, but I finally found a decent resource for it. The main thing you need to know is that you have to edit your shortcut to Chrome (in the start menu), so it has the --enable-user-scripts flag. Right-click the shortcut, choose properties, and add it after the last " in the "Target:" field. Depending on your OS, you have to then create a directory called User Scripts in a [ dev.chromium.org] certain directory on your hard drive, put the userscripts in the newly created directory, restart Chrome from your edited shortcut, and it automatically loads your scripts. I got Hairs' Fan's Hath Exchange script to work, so the scripts support is there... but I guess either BB is too complicated, or something else is wrong that makes it incompatible with Chrome. I just got two mini-bosses in my hourly battle. On Hell. That was a long fight. I don't think I've ever had that before. Does anyone know if it's more likely to happen at higher levels, or if it's due to the difficulty setting?
