What is the monster supposed to do? I read somewhere ( wiki, I think) that he randomly attack or bring gifts, I had mine for more than 24h and he is just... static. I also leveled him to PL 8, if that matters.

Eventually it will, but there's so many monsters with low PL, yours probably won't get any wins for a while.

My monsters start getting some kills at around PL30, and there are players who suggested that the one of the optimal PL level for wins is around 70-90.

You also have a slim chance to get materials from monsters without a win.

Here is a Noob Question I suppose... or I possibly found a bug.

Does the energy drink not show up in your inventory even if you have it? I have the option to "use energy drink" next to my stamina meeter, but I can't find it in the inventory. I wonder if this is a bug.. or if that option is there but only available if highlighted. If I actually do have one I don't want to use it today so I'm scared to click it. The option is not grayed out, and the curser becomes the pointing hand when I scroll over it. But I don't know if when I click it the game will say error I don't have any energy drinks, or just use one that for some reason isn't showing up.

It's shown in the battle items and inventory pages.

You can't use the recovery items (which includes potions and energy drinks) in the inventory page.
You need to use them in the 'restoratives' page.
If you have 99.999 stamina then the 'use energy drink' option will be grayed. Otherwise it's always available.
If you don't have one, then the game will probably say error.

Do monsters hit harder in iwbth? I seem to recall it was only that they had more hp.

[bug?] Cannot spend ability point on Overcharge Boost

Hello,

I don't know if it's related with the new version, but I just found out I cannot spend ability points on Overcharge Boost. I tried reboot, even switched to another computer (without HV STAT), but still don't work.

It shouldn't be related to HV STAT.
You're sure you have AP to spend on overcharge boost?

You have first filled the SP tank, right?
You are aware that you have to unlock the OC boost tank by first putting 3 AP into the spirit tank of the same tier?

Ahhh I see, THX! This is after a ability reset, and I just choose not to fill in the SP tank this time. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

HV Newbie here. Could anyone recommend me a route to take. 1h + shield / 2h / casting magic? Is it best to mass certain stats or keep them even as you level up?

@boobs

You can DW pretty fast when your under lvl 100, after that it will slow down as the monsters HP ramp up. Surviving isn't too much of a problem with DW, 2H weapons will have low Attack Accuracy Bonus like the MH in my set 2 listed in my sig. You will need lots of life and/or good Mitigation gear to survive because your going to miss A LOT with a 2H weapon.

As for stats wise:
For a melee, you can keep them all even with slightly more in AGI for evading; until you get to lvl 100.
For a mage. you can put more points into INT and WIS while keeping the rest even; until you get to lvl 100.

Any specific builds you want, get some input from the Ask the Experts thread, your probably going to need to take screenshots of your stats and abilities so they can tell you if you need to adjust it or not.

After your done with arenas, do CrysFest for leveling your character. Play until your stamina drops to 79 or 80, since you will still have lots of stamina afterwards when your still low level.

New player here with a few questions, some are a bit on the subjective advice side.

1) I've recently noticed in the last few levels a large jump in incoming damage. Whereas before I was playing on heroic from about 12-28 for the EXP boost, I've swapped down to Hard and it still seems to be a huge difference. I'm noticing that monsters (it seems mainly player created pets/mobs) can now hit for 300-350 damage in a single special attack (I currently have 579 hp, all HP tanks available filled, 36 endurance.) I find it odd because I've mainly been going with the philosophy of healing when I'm low enough to make use of a Channeling proc, but that is far too dangerous now. I'm wondering if this damage increase is normal, or if I'm possibly neglecting a skill like Protection. I generally go with a kill order of Uncommon-Player Pets-Mobs that are about to come out of stun-Mobs with high Mana.

2) Is there any real advantage to going into deep rounds of Grindfest? The monsters become more plentiful, but it seems that I can make it usually 20ish rounds in before I use any consumables, and then I can only make it another 10-12 depending on luck with channeling and full consumables.

3) I've noticed some people alluding to the concept that Proficiencies level faster at higher levels until they get close to your level, but haven't really been able to find any solid info in the Wiki etc. Just generally want to know if this is true or if I should be trying to keep certain profs (like deprecating/support) at a decent level so I'm not at a major disadvantage when I start trying RoB/Legendary type stuff.

4) I started as a Dual Wield melee, but recently switched to 2H since Domino Strikes with a Mace seems absurdly powerful in general for Grinding/Leveling. Is 2h viable throughout later levels or does DW become much better for Legendary/RoB battles because of the ability to Spirit stance and use DW skills for massive damage (I figure it may be possible to Stance and use Shatter Strike with the overcharge tanks but it seems like DW could stance and do multiple skills in the same situation making it far superior.) Also later in the game is it even a problem to switch back and forth?

5) I've seen people refer to their "Spirit Attack," is this just referring to entering spirit stance and using their fighting styles skill, a spell, or something you gain in the later levels?

6) I've started generating some Hath with H@H, most people suggest getting the metallic aura's first which I plan on doing. I was wondering if it would be worth selling the Hath for credits and upgrading to some Shade armor before doing so? I don't really know how large of a different between Leather/Kevlar and Shade really comes out to be ingame, but the difference on paper seems very large.

7) If I was going to start looking for some endgame type items, which would be the best suffixes? The Wiki explains them all in general, but I don't really know which ends up being effective endgame for a melee fighter and would dislike spending credits on something that ended up subpar.

8) I've mainly been putting into Ability Training, and sometimes Exp Training when I know I'll be on the computer long enough to go directly into another training. Are there any other trainings aside from Ability that may not be readily apparent to a new player? At face value Ability Boost, Refined Aura and Assimilator seem to be the most powerful (although the latter 2 are far out of my price range QQ.) Although I am not entirely sure on the various drop boosting trainings.

9) As far as stats go I've been keeping Str as my highest stat, End as my secondary and then trying to keep everything aside from Int (since from the derived stats thread all I could really see it benefiting was magical damage, and 1/3 the amount of Wis to mana.) With the large damage increase I've been seeing should I change my philosophy to a higher amount in End or Agi/Dex (whichever helps mitigation/evasion, I would have to look.)

Huge post, and some of these questions probably belong in the ask the experts thread, but thank you for any answers or help you can provide.

Waiting till you can make use of Channeling is waiting to long. The protection spell isn't that good.

They give more exp at later rounds. Not sure if it worth it though.

They do, you should be able to keep all you prof decent just with normal use.

I use both 2H and DW regularly, Sprite Stance and Skills are just 2 patches old and the last patch was also a significant change so I'm not sure what better right now.
QUOTE

Sprite Stance replaced Spirit Attack. Anything that refers to Spirit Attack is outdated.

At your level sell the hath, my lifetime hath count is only about 20 counting the Christmas hath.

That's because Melee isn't that good level +200. For now just try to get what you can afford.

At your level stick just to Adept learner and Ability Boost.

That's about right.

Is the information regarding spell costs on EHWiki, i.e. the base costs for, say, Cure II being 55, and thus it should cost 55% of your level in MP, still accurate?

I'm level 131 and Cure II costs me 101MP, but by the math in EHWiki it should only be 73MP...

it's still right. but this recent patch changed it so that interference affects mana costs instead of proficiencies

From what I can see during encounters, you can have both. But from the latest patch 0.6.4, I can't really say if it was nerfed to being something useable or only a small bump in speed when you have both.
