equip can boost you over the cap.
monster resistances are listed in the wiki, their other attributes scale with level so they are not constant.

I'm new, so I'm not entirely sure how things work (or are supposed to work.) I started this new account yesterday-ish, and started with no stamina. Are new accounts supposed to start with no stamina? It took me awhile to figure out that my problem of no EXP/exhaustion was having <10 stamina (it's not in the wiki yet.) There's also no mention of new accounts starting with no stamina in 0.5.2 HV release notes thread.

Err no, that's not intentional. Should be fixed now.

What should I work on building if I want a dual wielding knife with high ability to parry, evade, and move quickly in terms of abilities and stats to build?

Agility is for your speed, and a slight dodge chance you will want high strength/Dex to be able to hit good. and Dex gives slight parry bonus You probably want to concentrate primarily on Agi/Dex then secondarily on End/Str and even less on Wis/Int Here is a good source about stats: http://ehwiki.org/wiki/Character_Statswisdom/int will be your lowest attributes but Don't neglect them too much as you will use them to cast cure. You will want to get the overcharge boost ability a bit because this will increase your melee damage: # Players gain a percentage bonus to melee damage equal to half of their current Overcharge level. http://ehwiki.org/wiki/Overchargesome depreciating and supportive spells are good but don't go for any straight damage one's, health and mana bonus is always good when you have a spare point or 2 I suggest not just using knife, for the style you are describing you might want 1 rapier, 1 knife. this will also give you two different procs(penetrated and bleed) and two different damage types (pierce and slash), rapier also has similar parry bonus(slightly better I think) to knife although rapier's are rarer then knives A combination of cloth and light Armour is probably a good idea, cloth is good for dodging but some light(not too much or you risk slowing yourself and weakening your cure) is also good for dodge, will give you some small damage mitigations and will have more melee orientated attribute bonus's. Overall about half cloth, half light (Fiddle around till you find your good balance) Hmmm... just noticed your a higher level then me, I think this is a good overview. but some more experienced players might have more to add I personally use duel wield, any Q's you can feel free to msg me (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) This post has been edited by Drahnier: May 4 2011, 09:34

Wouldn't it be wonderful if there was a thread dedicated to HV strategy questions?

Excuse me, did someone know the total cost for Assimilator?
Also, is it worth for training? I'm very curious about this ability.

I have Penny Pincher, so this is 2% lower than base cost, but: 1/10 costs 60k or so (I can't remember) 2/10 costs 104,851c 3/10 costs 169,073c 4/10 costs 242,992c 5/10 costs 328,012c
So for 50% increased prof gain speed, you need to spend about 900k total. I'll be able to tell you what 6/10 costs as soon as 5/10 finishes in a few hours.

Thanks for answering. So, I guess the effect is worth training.

Simple answer : it doesn't. Cure is affected by your Curative proficiency, base HP and Holy rating.

Well, you can use it more when you have more mana.

I didn't know that Cure was affected by your base HP. Is that true for all curative magic, including Regen?

QUOTE(flint) True. Still, that's how INT affects cure (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) But for direct impact, you'd have to raise either END or STR. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) QUOTE(coredumperror) I didn't know that Cure was affected by your base HP. Is that true for all curative magic, including Regen? As far as I know, Regen and Regen II aren't affected by Holy rating but are still affected by base HP. QUOTE(Sayo Aisaka) I worked out the numbers for Regen. The reason no one could fit it to a straight line graph was, of course, that it isn't a straight line graph...
The calculation uses base HP (i.e. including equipment and Shrine bonuses, but not Health Tank) and Curative proficiency:
Amount of HP restored per turn = base HP * 3 * (1 + prof / 100 + (prof / 200) ^ 2) / 100 , rounded up. This post has been edited by Mika Kurogane: May 6 2011, 11:29

Proficiency training in cake grindfest @ Lv170, 2/10 Assimilator, 13 godly pots per run, Haste+Shield on IA:
Curative (Cure1 spam): 156.69 157.17 0.48 157.41 0.24 157.66 0.25 157.92 0.26 158.26 0.34 158.47 0.21 158.88 0.41 159.04 0.16 159.31 0.27 159.53 0.22 159.72 0.19 160.10 0.38 160.30 0.20
Supportive (Frost Spike spam): 156.40 156.88 0.48 157.30 0.42 157.78 0.48 158.26 0.48 158.74 0.48 159.14 0.40 159.40 0.26 159.81 0.41 160.26 0.45
Deprecating (Weaken/Bewilder spam with Slow): 151.06 153.43 2.37 155.58 2.15 157.35 1.77 158.60 1.25 159.63 1.03 160.73 1.10
Divine (Condemn spam): 157.68 158.36 0.68 (got bored)
Not really noticing a big difference. I'm not expecting much until 5/10 Assimilator (900K?! ><).

Not that I know of. There is a table in the wiki that shows the EXP needed to complete each level. However, I know from experience that around level 100, you start earning enough EXP per level to raise each stat once, while keeping them all even with your level. And each level after you, you start getting enough EXP to keep all your stats even and above your current level. Why do you ask?
