Hey you high-leveled people who can kill Bosses without breaking a sweat: What are the entry costs for the Arenas above Twisted Plots?

QUOTE(Gtdragon @ Oct 17 2009, 06:32) How High is the drop rate from equip, Atifacts in Numbers please
I have 6 Points in Quartemaster i play on normal and that is what i get Total equipments found: 1 pieces (avg 333 rounds per equip)
I see normal brings nothing so i play on Cake and get mor exp and credits
difficulty has nothing to do with drop rate, it does very slightly effect quality. But playing on normal will probably get you more exp and credits over the same period of time, since cake lowers the exp and credits gained per round pretty significantly. The entry cost jumps up to 2000 at feast for crows This post has been edited by uth: Oct 17 2009, 20:04

Those of you who have taken the time and money to train in Archaeologist and who have gotten far along in it:
Was it worth it in the long run to spend that much Cred??
(I have +30% Base Artifact Drop bonus, or 3/10, and the next +10% costs 58,999C to train. But even with +30% in this Perk, I haven't seen a single Artifact drop in at least a month or two of intensive Arena Fights, Hourlies, and Grindfests, if not longer.)

Some people just have all the luck. I have one point in Archeo and I pick up Artifacts maybe once a week to once every other week give or take a few days. Sometimes I pick up two or three in a row and then go into a dry spell of a few weeks. And there are still people who pick up more artifacts than me.

Think off it this way. Base, lets say you have about a 0.01% chance to find an artifact. +30% gives you a 0.013% chance.
Killing 250 enemies with 0 archeologist will give you a higher statistical chance of finding an artifact than killing 100 enemies with maxed out +100% archeologist.

So you're saying that if Tenb designed the game to give you a 1-in-1000 chance to get one, then spending ALL THAT CRED will only boost your chances to 2-in-1000?!? Seriously, Tenb, if marcho's 'math' works out, don't you think that that is one hell of a swindle for that much money -especially the way that the Training Perk is worded?? (Does anyone know if the Artifact Chance really is 1-in-a-thousand, or is it, hopefully, a much better probability than that??) QUOTE Some people just have all the luck. Ya missed a 0 there, but 1/10000 -> 2/10000 yeah, that's about right for archeologist.
The 0.01% I gave was an example, we don't know the actual number, but I'd say the best it could possible be is 0.2% (1/500) base.
Remember though that only 5% of killed enemies even drop an item, so even assuming it is 0.2%, its still a statistical 1 out of every 10,000 enemies killed that drop an artifact.

Ah I forgot to mention, I'm pretty sure arena rewards and hourly battles have slightly adjusted rates, maybe 10x better, but still 1/1000 instead of 1/10000.
He's certainly not draining my artifact luck though. I have 16 or so of em in my stash. Granted though, I've killed a metric fuckton of critters on my dash for level 100. I'd say about 8 every 10 seconds or so with my 2hander. By the math that outa get me an artifact every 3 and a half hours of continuous play. Which seems about right, if you break that up over a few days.

I'm a power grinder. Back when I was item farming, I killed enough monsters to make BBE's cookie have shit fits and stop tracking every couple of days forcing a delete. Since the last few updates, I've cut back on the amount of time I'm farming since its not as lucrative. Fortunately, I've made enough to set aside a stash so I have capital for when SHINY NEW THINGS appear, like the Trader or if some sort of smithy appears. Also for buying Hath and training, item slots are expensive.

What does Proficiency in a given Armor type do as you increase it -does it, say, decrease the effects of Interference and/or Burden??

A question:
What is the permanent ability for Tier 11 (Level 100)? Is it another Item Slot ability?

You can tell that this is from a few updates ago, but I don't see why that slot would have changed, (IMG:[ i267.photobucket.com] http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii304/TuxedoMonkey/abilities.png)

What use, if any, does putting Ability Points into Overcharge Power have for a dedicated, 'pure' Mage who plans to never resort to physical attacks (except where absolutely necessary)??

you'll have 1% more normal attack power per 2% overcharge limit for those ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY TIMES :P Other than that, more spirit points for spark of life, spirit attack damage, otherwise it won't help a mage all that much who doesn't plan on using normal attack. Also yes proficiency reduces interference/burden, I forget by how much, maybe by 25% of proficiency. This post has been edited by XMike: Oct 18 2009, 07:43

.25% per point of proficiency with that equip reduction to burden and interference. Also, .1% to all stats per point of proficiency.
