Proficiencies cap at your current level. The closer you get to the cap, the harder it it to gain proficiency. Attributes (primary; STR, DEX, ect.) don't cap.

Penny pincher lost it's appeal with an update. Ethereal rapier rocks. To do things faster I now use 2 handed weapons with autocast.. Haste, Shield, Shadow Veil.
And your question is...? -Sayo

Guys, how do infusions work? Do they only give an element to melee and spirit attacks, or do they work for magic attacks as well? For example, if I'm fighting a manbearpig (fire weakness) and I use an elec spell with fire infusion, will it register as fire dmg and do more dmg than it would otherwise do? Or would it still do the same amount of dmg an elec spell w/o a fire infusion would do? Also, what if I use a fire spell + fire infusion. What then? Does it increase dmg? Or does it do nothing?
And finally, about infusion of gaia. Does it combine all elements, as in, fire+wind+elec+cold, or all elemental (f+w+e+c) + holy, dark and maybe soul? And how would it work if I use a gaia scroll, if I use all elements on a monster that is weak only to 1 element, and resistant to others, how would dmg register?
I know it's a bit convoluted, but please help me out here xD Thanks

• It gives Elemental rating (50%?) for the type of infusion you used (all for Gaia). • Change Melee attack to elements. • +50% ADM for Melee.

QUOTE if I'm fighting a manbearpig If you're fighting mbp in IWTH or something, best if you cast spark, blind, weaken, lightning spikes, use fire infusion, then blast it with flames of loki.

In other words, an Infusion of Fire increases the damage done by Fire spells by adding 50% to your Fire rating. It doesn't turn Elec spells into Fire spells. That would be silly (or evil). I don't think Infusions have any effect on Spirit attacks. This post has been edited by Sayo Aisaka: Mar 9 2011, 00:29

1% elemental rating = 1% elemental damage & 0.5% elemental mitigation. Also Infusion of Gaia turns melee attacks into Soul element.
While we're on the subject, do the elemental spike supportive spells give the same buff as the elemental powerup gems (and if they don't, do the same elements stack)?

It was an example, to better illustrate my question, not the questionI can one shot MBP on normal. I have no problems with it whatsoever on IWBTH either ~_~' QUOTE(Sayo Aisaka @ Mar 9 2011, 00:28) In other words, an Infusion of Fire increases the damage done by Fire spells by adding 50% to your Fire rating. "Infuses your spirit and attacks with the power of *insert element here*" I'm sorry, but that's not clear AT ALL. If it "infuses" you with fire, then wouldn't that mean ALL your dmg would be fire? Regardless of the element of the spell you are casting? Shouldn't it then say "Infuses your fire spells with... More fire"? Anyways, I got it now, but ffs someone should really make it clearer. The description has no reference to magic AT ALL, how am I supposed to know it raises elemental ratings? Where the fuck does it say that? >_>' This post has been edited by (Cheater) KamuiSeph: Mar 13 2011, 04:08

Guess you did't read Tenb answers to people's questions that much... didn't you?
It was made purposely confusing, just for the lulz.

Are the cost of spells supposed to increase as I level up or something? My weaken increased from 3 to 4 mana cost and my cure recently increased from 6 to 7.

Yes, from HV wikia "MP costs are all a percentage of your Level, rounded up. " You can check base costs at: http://ehwiki.org/wiki/SpellsSo for example, weaken with base cost 10 costs 10% of your level. When you're level 30, the cost is 30 * 0.1 = 3MP When you reach 31, the cost becomes 31 * 0.1 = 3.1 = 4MP (if it's anything above .0 round it up)

can't really find an answer to this question, neither here nor on the wiki... How can I increase the amount of HP I get when using cure? pretty sure it more or less stayed the same after I pumped up INT and WIT by ~ 7 points each

Base HP, curative prof, holy rating. Magic rating doesn't increase the amount of HP restored.
