QUOTE(marcho @ Oct 12 2009, 18:26) 2) It is a general indicator that you have A - high burden or B - low aspeed. Currently I'm getting the occasional double strike myself rather than the other way around (low burden + high aspeed gives you the occasional free hit).
My burden IS high, I never paid it much mind: 62.1. That's what I get for buying a light armor set 120 levels (well, now, at least) above me. Still, they're better than anything else I have right now. Well, almost, now that gear with resistance is dropping. Is 4.9 high for a Resist Chance? I think this Average Silver-Adorned Leather Breastplate of Negation might be worth the slight stat decrease. Decisions, decisions... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) You're getting 60 burden from light armor? That's... pretty high. For full light armor you should be aiming for the 40, maybe 50 range unless your sporting a heavy weapon or tower shield. Mix in some cloth if you have some nicer pieces. Resist can be pretty helpful, but remember that 5 resist is only a 1/20 chance to block a spell. If you lose out on any significant amount of mitigation, it might not be worth it.

I assume it's much heavier because the level is so high, especially compared to my current one. I went on a spending spree right after I donated (was probably in my high 20s, low 30s then). Oh, and I should've been clear, not all of it is light armor. I've since mixed in heavy armor pants around my level to reduce some damage. But yeah, pretty much everything else is well over twice my level, even my shield. I'm not too worried right now, though. Now that I got my 2nd Hath Perk, I can actually save up some credits and buy gear closer to my level. And I have been doing better in the Arena, thanks to that last update and some changes in my battle style. I do miss the days when I was a total fridge, though. Two solid hits didn't matter as much then, but that was before the Peacocks gained some levels and passed around the memo on how to crit me all the time...

Dirty peacocks D:
The level does a bit, but I use gear mostly 100+ over my level as well. Using a buckler, 2 heavy, 1 light and 2 cloth I'm in the 30s for burden. Some high quality cloth helps, and 20% evade is... pretty handy as well.

Well two questions from a noob at HentaiVerse
1 - What the hell is Interference and burden
2 - Is melee or magic better for this game and if so should i spread my stats instead of focusing on melee stats

Read this: https://forums.e-hentai.org/index.php?showtopic=21824It included a section on attack speed (burden) and a section that gives the specific effects of interference. Melee is easier and more cost effective early on, but theres no specific "best" play style, it depends on how you like to play and what equipment you get. Whatever you go for don't spread your stats to much though, try to keep them all within a 10 or so point range (if you go heavy melee some people ditch INT though). Is it pretty much impossible to take down a Big Boss without Silence or a whole hell of a lot of Magic Power/Defense??
(I assume that for most high-level Mages with good Barrier ratings to boot, that they are much less bothered by things like MBP's "Global Warming" than a Tank is.)

Barrier... wont really help, it gives a flat reduction, not a percent. Reducing the spirit attack that owned you for 2k damage by 60 points won't make you any less dead. Yes, you need silence to reliably take down a boss.

Ah I mean don't lag a stat to much.
say your main stat is STR and it's 90, don't let your AGI drop below 80. As I mentioned, the exception is INT for heavy melee chars. Although personally I keep my INT up as well. My base stats are 97/97/97/92/87/87.

I didn't mean the actual spell "Barrier," I meant the Mage's natural, basic Barrier Rating. Are not spells, even the ones from Bosses, much less harmful to Mages?? (For example, I as a Heavy Plate Tank recently used a Blood Token...and got promptly got owned by ManBearPig -at the time I had a little under 1400 Points, and 'Global Warming' hit me for 1407. I assume that a 'well-dressed,' well-equipped Mage would have taken much less damage than I did.)

Actually a mage might take more damage due to lower equipment absorption/mitigation stats (First time I tackled Manbearpig he hit me for three times my total HP). The only thing that helps against boss special attacks is Silence.

I don't really know how well the Shield/Barrier Ratings work as far as damage reduction goes. Mine are the same +/- 1 depending on how far along in my level I am. Either way, magic still stings like a mofo.

Spirit attacks are calculated with both barrier and shield, I think. On the side note, anyone having trouble scrolling down? I can't equip some stuff, view my equip stats, and browse the lower items in the bazaar.

It's not 0. On average I find a piece every 200+ rounds since .8.
I remember the days, not so long ago, that I averaged 1 per 70. D:
