It seems to be working so far, but has anyone tried this with success/failure? From reading the descriptions in the wiki, it seems like I could drop STR for more DEX and END. More accuracy and health, but slightly less damage per hit (DEX also gives damage).

1) It might have its cooldown timer still running. Wait 20 hours and check again. Otherwise, no clue.

2) This is more an Expert question, but you've got it all wrong. END is your priority. Depending on your fighting style, you'll then balance STR/DEX/AGI. You also need to put points into WIS. cmal's Two Cardinal Rules for Stat Distro: 1) END IS HP NEVER LET IT GET BELOW YOUR LEVEL; 2) WIS IS MP YOU DIE WHEN YOU RUN OUT.

There's a thread posted by tenb explaining derived stats. Basically, if you're meleeing, keep your int behind. STR, DEX are fighting stats, END, AGI damage reducers, WIS (and some INT) mana for healing.

Some are, but most aren't.

I don't think anything in the bazaar isn't sold by players these days.

Thank you, but can you explain further?

1: Why do I need to hit anything? I just cast spells til I don't have mana, then lose the grindfest. Then I start up a new one.

2: I don't have a shield spell and I don't use consumables. Can't afford it. Is a 'shield rating' a sort of physical absorption that is always active, or requires a certain spell or consumable? If so, why can't I just raise strength and dex then? I don't hit for crap as it is, why would I melee?

1. So you can use staff attacks to proc ether theft or finish off nearly dead mobs.

2. Shield rating is your defense and basic damage reduction. Str also contributes to your total HP.

Thank you, but as regards #1, proc'ing ether theft is mostly about hitting the target, right? Do both str and dex contribute to staff accuracy?

Also, to finish off nearly dead mobs without wasting mana, isn't magic missile a far better option? Cheap, relatively good damage...

Say has anyone been getting an issue with Mooglemail recently? I'm trying to send something but every time I try to click attach item I see the Item list form at the bottom of the screen kind of cut off at the bottom. I cannot scroll down or anything to click the item to attach. This is in Mozilla Firefox I got the latest version running. How to fix this?

Thanks for the replies. Does magic missile take 3.5-4x the time? Because it does that much more damage, for me. (With my pitiful stats/staff I only hit for like 22, 20ish. MM hits just about anything for 70, 80, sometimes higher non-crit, depending on the mob.)

1.1 times. When you reach lv 90, it's 1.1x missle/.75x attack, so it's more noticeable.

That's the reason I still use it, but in situations where each hit hurt a lot, the extra acc is very important. i.e. higher settings, +150 Fest rounds.

When I use Haste, it says my action speed has been increased by 79.4, but it hasn't really. You don't always get what you see.
