I had 34,3 evade, 43,4 block, 18,6 Parry and 4,32 Soul Mitigation, Soul Element rating of 8% (is this of any use?)
Did not pay much attention to his damage since Regen 2 took care of it just fine. I even forgot to recast it from time to time and in was never really dangerous (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Ahh, I didn't see that. Still Tens defeated a Dalek well below level 100, and before HV. I suspect your high levels and SP played a key factor in it. I might be able to do it.

Defeated Fly-Yeeng Spuh-Getty Monsta as a Warrior (by the Nine Hells, I'm not patient enough to go 3000-5000 rounds and do it as a Mage. Not right now).

Axe in one hand.
Rapier in the offhand (in part for Spirit Attacks, in part for increasing Parry).

"Poison" cast repeatedly even though it was of little use as a Damage Weapon -I just used it to make sure that FSM stayed easy to hit.
Used 11 Mana Elixirs (had 12 of them plus 1 Final Elixir).

I went with my All-Spirit-Ward setup (over 65% Protection) instead of my "Normal Gear but 42% Evade" setup, and once I got underway I was glad that I did -I can use the High Parry Armor Set on the all the other bosses except IPU with ease -and in my opinion FSM is as far above IPU as IPU is above Real Life for various reasons. For anyone who will read this and who hasn't fought FSM yet, I strongly advise you to man up and spend money of a full set of Spirit Ward gear.

After the first few dozen attempts, I stopped using "Slow" on the monster because he only takes Bleed/Poison when he attacks. I probably could have saved myself a hundred rounds and a Mana Elixir if I'd figured that out sooner. Of course, I kept "Haste" on me.

Completed it in "only" 1400 rounds.

Seriously considering equipping double Axes next time I fight him. In a few minutes I'm going to test that theory out in Battletoads and see just how well dual, high-bleed Axes work if used together -I figure that I'll either get a Dual Bleed effect or a constant Bleed, which I think would have killed FSM even faster in the long run. I just have to figure out how to get along without any Parry to help my Evade.

EDIT: Well, Double Bleed kinda sucks. Didn't even get the constant bleed thing I was hoping for

Guess that I'll just have to find a super-duper-duper High Bleed Axe for my main hand instead -one of those super-rare "close to 1000 Bleed Damage" Axes I used to hear about around here.

Now that you mentioned it, I see where my original error was.

When I talked about 3000-5000 Rounds, I was subconsciously restating cmdct's "Kill FSM without using any Items" strategy.

My bad.

Perhaps, Tens, you could try to see how many rounds you could perform that same task in...

Well, I stand here in awe of those defeaters of legendaries, but at least today I beat two bosses. I won't try to win kudos by saying how crappy my equipment, or spells, or items, or tactics, or whatever were, but do know that it can be done without even casting Weaken.

You can, because of X-magic, and the fact you're more faster than I (FSM hit the cap don't get any faster as leveling up), if you can take the damage using less or even without any mitigation gear, trading for demon-fiend gear, FSM will die a lot faster (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

I'm trying to figure out a good "companion weapon" to a Mainhand Axe that is better than a Rapier -I can probably have just easy a time fighting the guys like Real Life even without a PA-enhanced Spirit Attack or enhanced Poison. So far, no such luck.

By the way, Ichy, nice Rapier there -if I were you I'd probably never sell it (unless of course something better came along) Rapiers with both better Parry and PA chance don't usually get better than that except in rare cases.

I had a feeling, since PA reduces rating a lot, defense reduces a bit, at a low level, it shouldn't have any effect. I just timed my soul attack with breached defense on.

You're making a lot of mistakes, no weapon don't increase the spirit attack (there's soul without being Spirit)

Spirit damage calculated as the sum of two damage rolls, one for Attack and one for Magic, modified by Overcharge and those Hath Perks.

That said, PA reduces shield/barrier ratings to 0, buble-gum makes you crit, and flower vase increase your attack/magic rating.
An infusion can help against the monster weakness as well because increases the rating (ex wind)
