Yes, the CS roll barely matters because CS is only useful in breakpoints.

For what it's worth, a peerless plain is worth somewhere around the same as a 25% (on every stat) radiant, or a ~60% mystic, in terms of average damage. These numbers seem to be roughly accurate for any proficiency, staff or mix of pieces I've modelled.

As mentioned, Charged is defensive - it's mostly interesting to mages who play a lot of grindfests or item worlds. Arena-only mages do not suffer with survivability issues when high-level, high-forged or just high DD (pick one - it should be enough to solve most problems, but level is the biggest factor).

What should I be spending credits on pre-300? I have a bit (~1M) from donating but I'm not sure what I should spend it on/if I should save it/if I should buy some Hath.

Edit: Also, what should I be gearing with? I have pretty basic gear, but no mats to forge.

Well, that depends on what you play, what you want to archive with it and and so on. Personally i would suggest to make some training to increase your income aka Scavenger, Luck of the Draw, Quartermaster and Archaeologist. And i wouldnt suggest to buy hath when you dont allready have plan about on what to spend them. Also at your level it is quite normal to just replace your current gear when you did outlevel it and that wont change until you get equipment that is actually worth to be soulfused, something that could take a while.

Yeah, they are a long-term investing, but overall worth it and unless you stop train them when the price does reach a point when you no longer feel like you could easy afford that money you wont feel like wasting credits. AP and Xp, let it me say that way, AP should imo only be trained when you actually need them. XP on the other hand, that depends on if you actually want to level up fast, there are some reasons not to want that and some to want it. So i would say dont invest too much credits into it until you are yourself sure about how fast you want to level up.

Don't forget to get the Postage Paid perk (just 10 Haths!) if you don't have it already.

With it you can send/receive items with MoogleMail without having to pay fees, for instance if you have to buy forge materials/catalysts in shops.

I figured I'd list a bunch of junk that I've got lying around in my inventory, but I literally can't remember how to get the links to the items. Like, how do I make it pop up in a separate tab? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

EDIT: Nevermind my stupidity, I took a look at the wiki. Probably better to give the whole thing a good once-over, I think.

How to get better rarities (above exquisite)? I'm already around lv 180-ish and never seen one magnificent while there are lots of people been selling magnificent and even legendaries below 150. Is my luck really just suck or...?

It's a combination between a higher difficulty and luck.
There are also a few players who got very lucky when shrining their event trophies (XMAS / Easter).

It is, but keep in mind they are a long-term investing, so dont expect them to pay of right away. Also i would suggest to only train them until the prices feels like something you wouldnt be able to afford easy.

With the insane amount of Hell/Nihtendo IW I'm going through these days, I do can tell you that you might drop a Magnificent once every few thousands of rounds of 7-9 monsters, maybe even a Legendary every few dozens of thousands of rounds.

So, to answer your question, yes you do need to play a higher difficulty than Nintendo to start having a reasonable amount of Mag+ drops. And to get a reasonable amount of Legendary, it's PFUDOR and nothing else.
Really, the occasional low level Legendary is more likely to be luck when shrining a valuable event trophy rather than playing the game. And I do can tell you that it is not a good idea to shrine event trophies in the hope of getting a (good) Legendary, unless you have no plans besides shrining them (keeping these trophies for collection/selling to other players).

To answer your other questions... No, none of the trainings will ever be able to raise the quality (Exquite/Mag/Legendary) of your equipment. Or at least not directly. Is it worth investing in all the trainings? Yes, but only if you do have the means and it doesn't go in the way of your other plans.

The %s you see in shops and on auctions are not stats from the game themselves, but percentiles generated by scripts.

I've been wondering about the character cloning feature. Is it something worth doing at lower levels like mine (205), or is it worth waiting a while? I did notice some advice about not using mage until around level 300, would it be better to clone then instead?

Sounds like you missunderstand what the cloning is actually about. You dont get a second account or anything, all you do is just creat another persona, same everything, but you can change quick between different settings, like how you spread your PAB, your abilities and so on. Just like another equipment set, just for everything, and with its own equipment sets.
