QUOTE if you want my two cents, don't overexhert too much. I am on 3-week vacancy right now, so it does now affect my RL that much if you mean this (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) QUOTE but there's a limit to *how much* users can be spoiled. Roget that (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

It's possible to use postMessage in a userscript to communicate between different domains. The code isn't so pretty though. (that's how SmartSearch-forum grabs Percentile Ranges-HV info of equips found, for example)

QUOTE It's possible to use postMessage in a userscript to communicate between different domains. Hmm, never thought about it and, fairly, even vaguely remember how exactly it works. Need to give it a try. Thanks =)

QUOTE luckily i told you there's a limit to how much users can be spoiled... *sigh* They can be spoiled very much, I know. But I am on vacation - I can spend hour-two on the some code for myself and then share it with people (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

MY EYES! I just upgraded from 0.9.6 to 1.0.4. What have you smoken man? The default settings provoke a huge horrible mess! Can't you have most doodads disabled by default in the future versions please? I seriously had to disable 3/4 of them.
BTW, the inline difficulty changer is very ugly, being displayed on two lines. It's even more stupid when we disabled the two other inline changers.
And your script messing around with divs widths is not very cool for the CSS customizations. It completely fucked up the layout of EcchiVerse in the Bazaar. It'd be cool if instead of widening the divs, it cutted the text displayed when necessary.

Okay you don't like it. Could you please keep it friendly though? You can say a lot about f4tal and his scripts but not that they are stupid. Deep respect for the creation of these scripts. We could all try to understand the settings before complaining, couldn't we? This post has been edited by DJNoni: Sep 30 2017, 11:25

Quote me where I insulted him or lacked any kind of respect. Yes I have a very peculiar way of expressing how shocked I am, how I have been aggressed by the layout when updating. I mean, seriously, you don't throw the entirety of Toolbox in the face of someone who is not familiar with its features.
And if I think that something is ugly, then I say it's ugly. I won't say it's great just because he worked on it, we're not in school's la la land. There's a design error and it needs to be pointed out.

Yeah, the whole point of scripts is to provide features. Presumably, someone who wants to install a script will look at the features and decide whether it's worth trying out a new version or not. That's why this post was made. IMO it's bad form to aggressively complain about something you're getting for free. You always have the option of not downloading it in the first place.

You are saying that it is that hard to open the seetings and spend one minute of your time to turn off staff you don't really need? I could make options unchangeable after all, but instead provided interface to manipulate with them - is a good thing in the end (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) QUOTE(decondelite @ Sep 30 2017, 12:08) BTW, the inline difficulty changer is very ugly, being displayed on two lines. It is your font, specially its size. Since your have modded EcchiVerse skin - it should not be *that* hard for you to change few CSS and adapt script for your font? Especially, as far as I understood you know programming too. QUOTE(decondelite @ Sep 30 2017, 12:08) And your script messing around with divs widths is not very cool for the CSS customizations. Nope. To make "equipment lines" expandable for future customization (PABs icons, prices, etc) - I have to apply flexbox properties for ".eqp" and ".eqs" classes - no other way around. Browser will manually calculates width and height according to its needs. QUOTE(decondelite @ Sep 30 2017, 12:21) Yes I have a very peculiar way of expressing how shocked I am, how I have been aggressed by the layout when updating. When last time I worked with WordPress CMS - they did exactly this to me - throw into my face the whole CMS with lots of terms and categories, like "taxonomies", "the loop", etc. Same when last time I have installed Photoshop - too many things and options per pixel. But comparing to those software - in HVtoolBox you can check its settings and explanations (Superlatanium's link) and freely disable them. Ohh, and this it is not your regular script, it terms that it has more features, options and customization for anyone needs. I personally do not use "inline changer" and PAB icons - I don't need, so I disable them. It is not like I have coded in script everything I need and love - most of these functions I need not too (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif) This post has been edited by f4tal: Sep 30 2017, 12:35

You can always use 0.9.9 version. It's same as your 0.9.6 but with bugs removed.

OK, we're in la la land here, owned by people who decided that "free" is an excuse to everything and that toolbox being installed means we want to be aggressed by its features. Sorry, I knocked at the wrong door. Please continue resume your activity, I don't want to disturb you any longer. The place to leave feedback regarding the toolbox script must be nextdoor. I hope that there they know what "feedback" is and that the user is always right, even more when he did pay for your job. ... Dark humour aside, I don't want to be called disrespectful by people who are 100 times worse than me by throwing flowers blindly at fatal and/or minimizing the issues. The quality of a script is not measured by the amount of time spent working on it, but by its ability to respond to its users needs. As far as I remember and as far as what has breen written, toolbox is supposed to be a script that gathers many functionalities, which many will most likely be unused. As it is right now, its default configuration utterly fails at satisfying this requirement. Add to this the unability of this default configuration to be user-friendly, and you get that "WTF has he smoken" reaction of mine. So people, please don't get full of yourselves and don't treat toolbox as a non-criticizable thing. And don't see my (raw) feedback as disrespectful, because if anything I'm actually someone who really cares and appreciates fatal's work. Proof is that I agreed to give him my 100 hath reward, which I might renew in the future. EDIT: fatal, I actually spent like 3 minutes setting up. Even if it was only 3 seconds and one click to disable everything I don't want, it's already too much. You don't want to know how harassed I've been in my job and the collaborative projets I've worked in because that thing takes one too many click/millisecond to do. I swear that sometimes I wanted to punch some people in the face for that, even though in the end they're the user so they're always right. That's what man-machine interface and general design is all about. It's ruthless. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif) Trust me I'm actually going easy on you. You don't want me to explain (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) My little advice: try to make it so toolbox modifies the default interface as little as possible and doesn't force other scripts to adapt to it. Your script should adapt to any situations, not the other way around, that's one of the basic rules in scripting. As for my font, no I have no issues with it for the difficulty display in the top right corner, nor with the standalone difficulty changer script. I have especially chosen this font because it normally fits well in vanilla HV. Your script is at fault for that. Regarding my issues with the layout modification: (it's the storage) Sorry for being picky regarding the quality of your script. It's all these little things that really make the difference between a "good" script and a "meh" script. If you say so~ But just to let you know: in a general way you are ruder than I am, super is even way ruder than you. You just don't know what being rude really means. No hard feelings, I still like my favourite spaghetto. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif)
